    Post Ulcerative Colitis

Hello there everyone , this is my first post and i hope you guys can help me out .

Like you noticed by the tittle its about ulcerative colitis i got it when i was 19 working in a freezer.

The odd thing is i was on a vegetarian diet at that time to lose some weight and boy did i lose like 40 kg after i got sick .

So it was not because of the food i established that i live in a village and we grow our own food all of it , it is pure and fresh .

    Now my guess it is of high stress ;

    - when i was a kid around 10 years old i broke my leg and my bone split in 8
different pieces it was a mes and till today i still feel pain in my leg and i can
sense every single shift in temperature in my leg , this brings me pain on a daily
basis .... i already adopted to my pain in my mind but seems my body still suffers

    - second thing i get stress is the information the internet brought me i don't like
the knowledge i got i was more happy and healthy when i was stupid and in the
    grid brain dead .

What i wish from this post is that someone can help me if he can if he controls it or knows someone who has success :

    My current symptoms :
    1. diarrhea followed by blood every time
    2. it spread to my joints my left shoulder so far and my left chest side have hard time to breath can't sleep at night
    3. cause of the diarrhea and blood i lost allot of iron in my blood was send to hospital for blood transfusion

For the first 3 years i was on conventional medicine just to give it a try they did not help me at all , they were able to stop the diarrhea and blood few times but it always came back and gave me horrible side effects from pills i almost died cause of some and they gave me for 3 days 50-60 pills each day so i wont die ... i do not want to go trough that knowing what i know ...

There is not much alternative medicine from where i come from and it is hard to find some good honest person who can help me i ask you and i beg you all please help in any way you can tell me your stories how you do it i suffer and i am in pain for the last 4 and half years i can't even cry anymore cause my joints and chest hurts if i move much i barely sleep i don't think i can hang on for long please i beg again help in any way...

    Hi there,

I hope I can actually help you. My best friend has Ulcerative Colitis too and she has been managing hers through a specific diet. She too has experienced the same symptoms as yourself.

Unfortunately her diet is difficult to stick to because it is very limiting. She cannot eat anything that would produce any form of methane, plus when she is having a flare up (it still happens, but seems to be when she has deviated from the diet) she has to avoid anything that will aggravate the ulcerations in her colon...so things like seeds are a no no.

Here is the book and diet that she follows and it REALLY does work for her!

There is also a group on Facebook (if you have an account) for the "Specific Carbohydrate Diet", which is the diet that my friend follows and is the diet in the book I have forwarded to you. She has used the group as a resource for support and advice in order to stick to the diet as much as possible and to get ideas for what to eat :-) Have a look xx

I read some place or was it a news story that there is a doctor he washes the patients bowel out completely several times then he literally does a healthy donor bowel poo transfusion so that normal bowel bacteria balance replaces the old dysfunctional flora, this is a new treatment -the young lady they followed used to have a bowel motion many many times a day- after the treatment- she said her life was normal , I hope you can take encouragement from this news. You are getting better already my friend.

You've probably already come across this during your research, but if not, some new thinking on various inflammatory gut diseases are faecal transplants. Sounds horrendous, but it was reported by the BBC (and others) so it must be true!

By all accounts it's had some very successful results...

    Good luck,

There is a forum where they discuss the effectiveness of turmeric. I have had colon problems, polyps mainly, and since then am using turmeric in rice and other dishes. I don't believe the capsules work, but just a tea spoon of the spice in a cooked dish over time will calm the inflammation.

Rice can be bad for Ulcerative Colitis. You can make 'Golden Milk' using turmeric. However cow milk is not advised on this diet, so my friend uses almond milk! My friend uses turmeric a lot

All I can say is WOW. I read the BBC article and immediately phoned a friend who has had severe Crohn's disease for years, and is now bedridden because of it. This is all very hopeful news.

So you wanted to add some more alternative theories to the bunch?

You did not described your situation well. It says in your post that everything is as it should be but is not. feeding correctly, doing correctly but pain is here..
It would rather remind me on ... i got this knowledge, but i don't like it, and i would rather be stupid.

or i got this beautifull thing called life but i would rather feel pain.

It is my brother, it is all in yourself, there is no external cure, there is a lot of external substances tho, but won't benefit much.
From personal experience i agree there is tons of alternative medicine people here and i got to know few of very interesting ones, more interesting point is they all got it mostly if not right they are very close.
there is one which confirmed removes people dioptrics with talking to them! it worked every single time.. with talking, yes...

dr.Ante Pavlovic is probably well known to you as eccentric personality who is through media projected as a completely mad person...
yet this dude walks ONLY barefoot, eats only raw food, he gave up on system and does not cooperate with "the machine", he made kid walk from wheelchair, he openly says that he would kill any medicine man who touches human back without prior knowledge which modern medicine is not aware of... and he had problem with his open statements...

Im not suggesting him to you and you probably know he knows to beat his patients :D

But what i'm making here is not commercial for any of those alternatives or any of those you could collect along the way. Im here to represent your consciousness, and remind you that you are all powerfull.
Do not get tricky and overfeed with that feeling, as mostly it is common human pitfall when power eats itself..

i know.. easier said than done, right?

so rather than adding to your (probably overloaded) bunch on info, or suggesting person that could vanish you problem i'm just gonna leave this sticky note here as a reminder.

One wonderful person which was involved in spiritual and herbalistic healing here once told me interesting thing when i asked her why she stopped to personally involve in healing of those in need.
She told me that when people get sick it is equivalent of their mind state, she told me that actually their mind is poisoned, usually by itself and when you help someone, what you actually do is remove their chance to be AWARE of situation.
So basically everytime you heal someone you take his chance to realise.
And there is that 'reality' slap which will make shure that sickness comes back in some other form. because HEALER CAN NOT HEAL SOURCE, source is yours to heal, he can be PART of healing process but he cannot heal what he didn't screwed.. and that what screwed first time, likes to screw again and again...

so maybe you don't like your current state of illusion which you brave call truth and probably would bravely defend it, so if you don't like it, why don't you try let it go, maybe it changes it's shape, maybe you hold to it too tight?
Be careful when wandering in the woods... The wolf may approach you... And if you are approached by a solitary wolf... It is not a wolf at all!

    Hello Jura,

Sorry to know about your condition. It sounds truly awful.

If there is a health food store in your vicinity, there are three supplements that should help you a great deal:

1 - probiotics - at least 70 billion CFU daily - the store staff should be able to help you with this

2 - psyllium hulls - 2 tablespoons mixed in a large glass of water - this mixture thickens fast so it must be ingested as soon as it is mixed - this can be taken at any time day or evening

3 - chia seeds - 1 tablespoon in a glass of water -this also can be taken at any time - stir the seeds in the glass of water and let it sit for at least one hour until the seeds become saturated with water and all you can see in the glass are enlarged seeds as they will suck up all the water

And of course, you must follow a totally non inflammatory diet.

Good luck and best wishes for recovery and healing.

Try taking 1 Magnesium capsule (400 mg) and one vitamin D capsule (10 000 IU) each day. I did this when I was sick (digestive system) and it helped me a lot when changes to diet were not having any effect. In general eat a little less than you would like, and avoid alcohol (you are probably already doing this...).

Try and get several days away from any stress to help your breathing difficulties, and plenty of rest lying down as comfortably as you can. But also, see if a light 20 minute walk each day gives you any relief. I had this problem myself once, and it takes several days to slowly disappear. I think it is mainly due to stress. If it doesn't go away soon, you may want to get an oxygen cylinder to help you breathe easier. Best of luck!

Yes it is stress and can lead to IBS Irritable Bowel Syndrome, eventually leading to crones, which is weakening or pockets in the colon that hold fecal matter and cause cancers. So flush baby flush w/natural probiotics after you flush because the bad bacteria and balanced system is out of whack. Then reduce acidic foods as stress already creates more acids. If your stomach has an ulcer, goat's milk will seal it to keep the burn of stomach acids from hurting you. Now, about that stress... your body is telling you to chill out or at least handle stress like satelites around your world, NOT in it.
Recipe: "NEGATIVE OUT/AWAY POSITIVE/IN/COME. Sometimes the energy suckers in the family that aren't awake that you love, can make you worry inside and stress you there. It's cause is "holding chit in" and avoiding confrontational or negative episodes around them. So....as one Stress survivor to another, you can do it that easily, because when you look at it, we're here to teach them to think, survive and thrive. WE can lead them to water, but can't make them drink, give them lots of books, yet can't make them think. WE must leave little curiosity bread crumbs in spiritual knowledge, and skills to take take of family, that others who need the service need. You can do it, I've faith that if you realize, that your in control of how much or how little drama you want interrupting "your flow", you'll do just fine.

I'm no doctor but what you're describing is diverticular disease (actually diverticulitis), NOT crohn's disease. Is there any evidence that IBS leads to crohn's? These are all different conditions, the descriptions, causes (if known) and symptoms are all easy to check on the web.

Probiotics are reported to help some people and won't do any harm.

As far as I can discover, cancer is not a often an outcome of most of the above conditions, although I know someone with crohn's who did have a successful op for a small cancer. He was told it was a type associated with his type of crohn's.

Please beware of well-meaning but inaccurate information posted on non-medical forums. One's health is important and a proper diagnosis can then be followed by alternative treatments if you wish to go down that route.

    Nick

PS: I linked to Wikipedia rather than a proper medical website because I'm sure it is accurate enough for this level of discussion.

As many have stated probiotics and fecal transplants have been gaining in popularity for many types of gut issues (IBS, Colitis, etc).

Here is a good article about DIY fecal transplants. There are companies working on pills that can be used instead of the enima but I'm not sure if it is available in market yet. Good luck as this runs in my family and it is a terrible disease.
