    Agape, I think 'sands of time' refers to an hour-glass, in which case the idea of 'footprints in the sands of time' is based on a horribly mixed metaphor.

    I understand the necessity for it. Or else good ETs would have less basis for being people's "Guides". Really gets down to having guides and the details of such, which humanity is mainly starved for honestly.

    Extraterrestrials cannot contact people very easily on this world. They have to simulate certain things. Like for planetary votes and things of this nature... Until global first contact it will largely be such. Its just one small non-spoken about part of exopolitics. And is only used in extreme cases.
