Newly declassified documents reveal how U.S. agreed to Israel’s nuclear program

‘The Obama administration this week declassified papers, after 45 years of top-secret
status, documenting contacts between Jerusalem and Washington over American
agreement to the existence of an Israeli nuclear option. The Interagency Security
Classification Appeals Panel (ISCAP), which is in charge of approving declassification,
had for decades consistently refused to declassify these secrets of the Israeli nuclear
program.

The documents outline how the American administration worked ahead of the meeting
between President Richard Nixon and Prime Minister Golda Meir at the White House in
September 1969, as officials came to terms with a three-part Israeli refusal – to sign
the Non-Proliferation Treaty; to agree to American inspection of the Dimona nuclear
facility; and to condition delivery of fighter jets on Israel’s agreement to give up nuclear
weaponry in exchange for strategic ground-to-ground Jericho missiles “capable of
reaching the Arab capitals” although “not all the Arab capitals.”

Patrick Joseph "Pat" Buchanan is an American conservative political commentator,
author, syndicated columnist, politician and broadcaster. Buchanan was a senior advisor
to American Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, and was an
original host on CNN's Crossfire. He sought the Republican presidential nomination in
1992 and 1996. He ran on the Reform Party ticket in the 2000 presidential election.

He co-founded The American Conservative magazine and launched a foundation named

While Israel is one of the loudest voices calling for a tougher line on Iran's nuclear
programme, its own nuclear capability has never been put to inspection.

Israel has two nuclear research centres - at Dimona and Soreq. The latest
estimates suggest that Israel has produced at least 118 warheads with weapons
grade plutonium.

The Jericho ballistic missiles are capable of carrying such weapons.

The Jericho One, which is now obsolete, had a range of 500 kilometres, and could
carry a 20 kiloton nuclear warhead - 20 times more powerful than the US bomb
dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.

The Jericho Two has a range of 1500 kilometres. It could just reach Iran - and is
believed to be able to carry a one megaton nuclear bomb, which is 1,000 times
more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb.

It is believed a Jericho Three missile is now being developed - that will be able to
travel around 5,000 kilometres, bringing all of Iran and Europe into its range.

Israel's alleged cache of nuclear arms is in spotlight again. Egypt withdrew from
Non-Proliferation Treaty talks in Geneva on Monday, over a failure to plan for a
Middle East free of nuclear weapons - clearly referring to Israel. It's emerged
that Israel will soon get its 5th submarine, reportedly capable of carrying and
launching nuclear-armed missiles.

British MP Jeremy Corbyn, who's also Vice-Chairman of the Campaign for
Nuclear Disarmament, says this could spark a nuclear arms race in the region.
Israel is planning to permanently station a submarine carrying nuclear cruise
missiles in the Persian Gulf, the Sunday Times reported on Sunday.
Israeli submarines have visited the Gulf before, but the decision has now
been taken to ensure a permanent presence of at least one of the vessels.

The paper claims that the government has decided to station at least one
of three submarines armed with nuclear missiles permanently within
striking distance of Iran in the Persian Gulf.

The Blatant Hypocrisy When it Comes to Nuclear Threats in the Middle East

Hand-wringing over Iran's nuclear program has been a mainstay of western political
discourse. Indeed, fear mongering over the possibility of an independent Iranian
nuclear program has become so commonplace that it seldom raises an eyebrow,
even among the most cynical observers of the bought-and-paid-for corporate media.

To defuse the glaring hypocrisy of the world's greatest nuclear superpower chastising
a nation halfway around the world for pursuing a nuclear program that is admittedly
still incapable of even producing a single nuclear weapon, it is often stressed that the
IAEA ruled Iran to be in violation of its obligations under the Nuclear Nonproliferation
Treaty. However, what is never mentioned in this context is that there is in fact only
one nation in the Middle East that is not a signatory to the Nuclear Nonproliferation
Treaty itself, and only one country with a nuclear arsenal, an arsenal that has never
been inspected by the IAEA or anybody else: Israel.

Buchanan has become quite the diplomat, I didn't realize he was getting so much older (as I don't even realize the time myself!)
But that was pretty statesmen like of him, and yet he is essentially admitting that the tyrant is the USA...
And it has to stop... and what are we doing today?... exactly what he projected would happen, almost to a T.
The US is rolling the dice and taking one last crapshoot. What's the worst that can happen?...

They could start a war?... if they can start a war with no blood or dirt on their hands, and still maintain the moral high ground, that would be like a Christmas present to the Military Industrialized Complex and the US Mainstream Media... They could recreate an artificial 1945 "America saving the world" narrative out of it. But that's not exactly in the cards today is it?... If they get a war going I think the whole world is going to see through it, and call it out this time, at least significantly more people than has ever known up front the previous history of false flags, and propaganda, and contradictions... the US government is living in a media controlled fantasy world as it is already... more people know about this more than ever before in history.

The US is becoming a ghoulish pariah state dealing death to the highest bidder. This is going back to Vietnam late 60's. The Rich Man's War. But this isn't just teenage hippies expressing their rage and anxiety and horror. It's high government officials, intellectuals conspiracy theorists, business leaders, activists, pundits. The jig is up. The music is over... How does the song go... WE WON'T BE FOOLED AGAIN!
