Much to my wonderment, I just read that there has been an Ebola Czar appointed by the Prez to battle the "growing crisis" of the Ebola virus. I checked the CDC and there has been two (2) total cases, if that's even true. Dos. Zwei. Twee. Deux. Some outbreak. In Mississippi in 2012 there were 150 confirmed cases of syphilis, dwarfing the Ebola outbreak! and Gawd knows that sh!t is highly communicable. I hereby demand the Prez appoint a Syphilis Czar to stem the steady rise of Syphilis not only in Mississippi, but nationwide, and in particular neighboring states, because, you know, our people do get around if you know what I mean....

Funny thing is, is the czar ain't no doctor, hell he ain't even a scientist, he is a goddammed politician. I hope he examines the cases real personal like.

We are home from the hospital. Man, have I missed my thank you button. I felt really disconnected from my Village family when I couldn't thank everybody. How funny, but true. Thank you all for what you offered me, each response a pearl. Plus the energetic help, which I felt. I got through day 2. And now I have made it through day 3. This is very good. Each day is a struggle. But I know the end of the day will come.

You want to know about this ebola panic? I will tell you how it is in Dallas, from the news, from the hospital staff, from the real people. (Case 1)The first man who had it, who flew into Dallas from that other country, was sent to the Atlanta hospital that has the proper isolation unit. He made a full recovery and came back to Dallas. (Case 2)The first nurse, a young lady, who took care of that gentleman in the hospital in Dallas contracted it. He gave her a blood transfusion and she made a full recovery. (Case 3)The first fatality was a man, but I haven't picked up how he contracted it actually. (Case 4)Another health care professional that helped the first gentleman contracted it, was sent to the Atlanta hospital and is still in the isolation unit. (Case 5)Another man has contracted it, and has been sent to a similar hospital in Maryland. That is what is (locally) documented for the (local) public at this point. One of these people traveled to the Akron/Canton area in Ohio, so that's a big concern. To somebody.

Keep in mind, I don't watch the news as a rule. It has been blasting in my face for days, so I couldn't help to pick up a little bit. Nurses are discussing it on every floor. People in the elevator are going berzerk with purse size hand sanitizer, and discussing it. Some wear masks, and discuss it. People are canceling travel into and out of Dallas. But my goodness gracious, the fear. It is heavy, energetically, I have figured that part out. Draining for me still. I know a certain someone who is obsessed with where all the airplane traveled after the first gentleman got to Dallas. "They" say that many people are being "carefully observed" because they have come in contact with...whatever or whoever. The mass fear has hit way before any real reason for fear.

You all probably know a lot more than I do about what is going on, but since there have been a couple of mentions of this I thought I would report what is going on in the streets. If you are curious. So much hype, oh my gosh. Conflicting stories are flying like mud from the tires of a pickup truck on a Friday night...how it is contracted, how it is spread. Lordy. So much fear it is unreal. Maybe the people glued to their news in are giving it more oomph. Well, I'm not. Maybe this won't be able to manifest the way it was intended. And certainly, someone intended.

And, my here and now...

I hear the car races going, the track is a couple of miles away. I hear a box fan whirring as I sit at my old desk. I hear the clickety click of the keyboard, as I share by lamp light. It is surreal to be spending time in this house, at this desk, at this computer - the same place I was sitting when I found this Village. But this time, it isn't my home, isn't my computer, isn't my...fill in the blank.

I feel discombobulated, away from my routine, my own bed, my own stuff. I am looking for the lesson to learn here. I have been wondering, since the first day, if I have a home inside myself. One I can take with me no matter where I find myself. For where I find myself is certainly changing, not only day by day but the whole upheaval of the last year. I know I will not stay in my current home in the country, but am so uncertain where I will be. So if this home exists within, I hope I find it so I can feel that calm and comfort no matter what. I sense nothing is staying the same. The chaos of the first day unveiled the theme for this trip, and probably beyond. There is insanity all around, and I am very sensitive to this. How to learn from this, how to stay strong and grounded while knowing that change is the new normal...that is my here and now.

I just found out that 'a true creator' has passed. (origin of a 'music') Mark Bell of LFO. Probably not to everyone's taste, but there are times, I think when it will seem right.

I was introduced to it by a friend at a music store, in ~'90-'91. He gave it to me and began to excitedly describe it. I told him to hold the description... and I would give it a shot, totally cold. No foreknowledge.

I looked at the back of the album which had an extremely explicit warning about volume levels, and said..hmmm..this is going to be tricky. How can I know the limit, when I've never played it before? Punch it anyway.....

So I cranked the volume....dropped the needle (which you hear in the start of the video), ran to my chair...

The brief coming and going of Naniu (the reincarnated Nanoo Nanoo) had nothing much to do with anything inappropriate that Naniu did, in his brief stay here.

Rather it was due to some temporary confusions between moderators ... the mods processing new member applications that day didn't realize that we (some other mods) had intended for Nanoo Nanoo's previous departure from Avalon to be permanent.

The details of this case are a bit more subtle than usual, so I can't really explain it here sufficiently to make a convincing case. Sometimes the forum members are asked to trust (or hope) that the moderation team is doing "the right thing", based on what is visible to the moderators, that might not be visible to the entire membership. Sometimes members tell us things in confidence, or report PM's in confidence, that we cannot make public, but which can influence our decisions.

Of course, whether any given forum member will choose to place such trust in the moderators ... that's up to them .

I trust in the moderation here, to me it is a good team, not that they don't ever make mistakes. I can understand why some feel upset if a friend or someone they cared for has been removed, and it's so true, sometimes people do not know why...I do not believe that everything has to be transparent, sometimes it's best that it isn't and that there is some privacy...that's where the trust comes in...people are still free to ask mods questions...it is also how that is done...
