Sometimes we need to take a step back and recognize that.


My oldest son (graduating from high school this year) is the biggest Rush fan in the world (... or at least close).


We just found out today Rush will be doing a concert in our city ... umm ... about a mile from where we live.


Having one of my two sons experience his greatest dream ... damn ... doesn't get much better than that despite all the crap we humans have to wade through ...

The history of Herero clothing is extraordinary. Rhenish missionaries first introduced Victorian dress, which the tribe gradually accessorised by adding, for example, cow horn headdresses.

I guess long lens, 10m distance, shot from low down.
And the dresses are awesome.

The Guaymi Indians from Panama and southern Costa Rica wear colourful loose frocks.
Yet their history is quite different ...still I have a feeling that the early colonizers had something to do with it as well.

It does look like a professional photoshoot.

Again beautiful dresses there, Ulli. Somehow a touch of India in there.
Tribal dress tends to have much colourwork in it, I find it very soothing for the eyes.

And it's interesting what a little distance can do already. If you go further up, northeast, Guatemala, you will find that the traditional corte loses some of its brightness to the focus on patterns. And these are the typical corte belts.

When I look at all these fabrics, I get the feeling that all these tribals (from Lapland up until Tibet) met before.

Definitely a professional photoshoot. a long lens with big glass, ie, a big focal bubble so that everything is sharp, in focus and colorful. then, the reflector so that shadows are defeated from being overbearing. Probably about a 150-200mm lens, with about a 60-70mm objective.

In post work, the contrast was played with, in order to bring up the color and contrast of the subject.

In really well done work at a console, or digital manipulation desk, the subject would have been perfectly presented, while the back drop would have been saturation corrected. note that the ground/soil/grass is all washed out.

Either it was done that way, as it sits, as an original shot.... and then slightly played with, or the photographer has no familiarity with the type of correction software required, nor the inclination. It worked out well, except for the desaturation and whiting out of the backdrop.

A good friend of Dennis has suffered a pretty bad heart attack, and has been airlifted to a hospital in Duluth. Dennis is headed there now.

His friend is probably in surgery now, and he could use some village healing and protection.

Good healing to Dennis's friend! You know the Maharesi Effect has has so much profound effect on so many people! This was back in the 80's and 90's. WHY?WHY? don't we we use this more often? Yes, I am dumbed down to!

It really baffles me. If it only takes a micro part of the population to do this, then why not! Okay, I won't go there!

I did take a course in Transcendtial Meditation in the mid 80's! It is all about discipline, which I have never really had!

There are so many disturbences ie. life in general! lol! That keeps you off your mission(whatever that may be)! In other words S*it happens. What do you do?

You know this is really stupid!

I go down to the gas station to get something! So I said today's the 23rd!I immediately thought of Ulli! Zodiac stuff! He said my birthday is today and I said mine is 26! I don't know why? I started up singing The 5th Dimenson's song "Age of Aquarius"! Of course I don't sing it like they used to!

Girls that worked there started hugging me! Can't explain it! A young guy comlementing me! Where is Natatie when you need her! It felt good and right in these days and times! No I am not gay! But if I were. so be it! I luv's my women! No! I don't have any! Just my beautiful friends on Avalon! Boy's and girls alike!

PS. 5 dimensions was my first concert!

I got my 8 track stolen out of the parking lot, while in concert! Duh!
