Strange Bright Dots Above Apartment Building (UFO???)

Hello, everyone. My user name is EvoAwa.

I am new to the forum, but I have been actively reading many of the posts from this forum for about 3-4 years now. This is my first posting on this forum.

I don’t usually register for anything online and I am not really interested in any of the mass social media ways of communication, it is because I hold my online security in high regards.

But I have taken a strange photo and do not know what to make of it. I want people to take a look at this photo and give some opinions on what is going on in the photo.
In the photo, there are several bright dots spaced evenly and lined up in around a 10 degree angle in the night sky above the apartment building.

Note:

Camera used: Apple iphone 5 (the original photo is still on my Apple iphone 5).

Time: This photo was taken in 2013/09/15 around 9-10pm at night.

Location: This is China, Shanghai, Jing'an District.

I would like to think this is a UFO, but I seriously don't know what is it...

One question, could you see the dots/lights with your own eyes or did they just show in the photo?

Hmmm, 7 lights at near perfect equidistance from each other. You don't see too many planes or helicopters that would do that over a city ...


However, it looks very strongly to me that this photo was shot through a window ... is this the case? You took it through a window? If so, my first instinct would be to see if you have any light source in your house that has 7 lights in a row at equidistance - could be anything with lights -- not necessarily a fixture, but like a stereo system or whatever with leds. I would try my best to rule out that this might be a possibility first.

Can you clarify the shooting conditions? Was it through a window, and do you have any set of 7 lights in a row (probably small ones) in your apartment anywhere?

In 2013, we visited our aunt and maternal grandmother who lived in Shanghai, Jing'an District at that time. The last day of our trip before heading back, we visited our grandmother’s friend who lived in a high-rise apartment just across the street from the apartment my aunt and her family lived in (i.e. the white high-rise apartment on the right hand side in the photo is where my aunt live) and took several photos using the iphone.

When we left the apartment of our grandmother’s friend, I took several photos from an opened window in the hallway near the elevators (I have a feeling to look out of the window and take some photos of the nightscape). I took several shots in the direction toward the apartment that my aunt lived in and only one photo in another direction (the direction where the bright dots of light appeared).

I only took the photo, but I don’t remember whether I seen the lights at that moment or not (since I was concentrating on seeing the night view of the city)… :-)

It's a pity if you've not seen more with your naked eye that you could report . Did you see/glimpse any sort of shadowy shape , a glow around the 'lights' ?
Did they move ? If so then how ?

I know my iPhone is really bad in taking photos at night, especially of night sky . No matter how beautiful the resolution is otherwise, night time snaps tend to show very little .
If there's a plane or a helicopter flying around at night I can discern the shape ( glasses or not ) but the phone would photograph 'a light dot' .

I did not see any airplane or helicopter flying around at that time in the sky (also I did not hear any of those “typical” aircraft or helicopter sound/noise that you would usually hear when they fly nearby at low altitude)… I did not hear any sound in the sky… the only background sound I remember hearing are the faint buzzing sound of cars driving on nearby street as I took the photos from the open window…
