And there's a rumour going around that Israel plans to start setting up
jewish settlements in Ukraine... rationale being, according to this story
the Ashkenazi Jews are of Khazar origin, who settled in what is now Ukraine over 1000 years ago.

Naturally, i don't know if the Khazar story is true or not.
Like many other people, I suspect that the reason for the turmoil in Ukraine is simply to serve
as a (pretty shoddy) pretext for initiating a new cold war with Russia.
Perhaps this is vengeance for Russia's advocacy of moving to national currencies for international
trade (which in turn means the US Dollar loses it's global reserve currency status...
which in turn spells the end of the American Empire in the decades to come).
