The very common Ayurvedic herb ashwagandha has been studied and has been documented to reverse Alzheimer disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. In the link below to Pubmed, check out study #4:

Abstract
A 30-d course of oral administration of a semipurified extract of the root of Withania somnifera consisting predominantly of withanolides and withanosides reversed behavioral deficits, plaque pathology, accumulation of β-amyloid peptides (Aβ) and oligomers in the brains of middle-aged and old APP/PS1 Alzheimer's disease transgenic mice. It was similarly effective in reversing behavioral deficits and plaque load in APPSwInd mice.....

Where to get the stuff? It's probably anywhere you get herb extracts. I get mine in extract form from a company in Washington state. It's run by an incredible woman who grows most of her own plants and has the highest integrity.
