UK Scientists: Aliens May Have Sent Space Seeds To Create Life On Earth

The Huffington Post | By Lee Speigel

‘Scientists in the U.K. have examined a tiny metal circular object, and are
suggesting it might be a micro-organism deliberately sent by extraterrestrials
to create life on Earth.Don’t be fooled by the size of the object in the microscopic image
above. It may appear to look like a planet-sized globe, but in fact, it’s no bigger
than the width of a human hair. The University of Buckingham reports that the
minuscule metal globe was discovered by astrobiologist Milton Wainwright and a team
of researchers who examined dust and minute matter gathered by a high-flying balloon
    in Earth’s stratosphere.’

"It is a ball about the width of a human hair, which has filamentous life on the outside
and a gooey biological material oozing from its centre," Wainwright said, according to
    Express.co.uk.

"One theory is it was sent to Earth by some unknown civilization in order to continue
seeding the planet with life," Wainwright hypothesizes.

That theory comes from a Nobel Prize winner.

"This seeming piece of science fiction -- called 'directed panspermia' -- would probably
not be taken seriously by any scientist were it not for the fact that it was very seriously
suggested by the Nobel Prize winner of DNA fame, Francis Crick," said Wainwright.

Panspermia is a theory that suggests life spreads across the known physical universe,
    hitchhiking on comets or meteorites.

The idea of directed panspermia was suggested by Crick, a molecular biologist, who was
the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA in 1953. Twenty years later, Crick co-wrote --
with biochemist Leslie Orgel -- a scientific paper about directed panspermia

It now seems unlikely that extraterrestrial living organisms could have reached the
Earth either as spores driven by the radiation pressure from another star or as living
organisms imbedded in a meteorite. As an alternative to these nineteenth-century
mechanisms, we have considered Directed Panspermia, the theory that organisms were
deliberately transmitted to the Earth by intelligent beings on another planet.

We conclude that it is possible that life reached the Earth in this way, but that the
scientific evidence is inadequate at the present time to say anything about the
probability. We draw attention to the kinds of evidence that might throw additional light
    on the topic.

British Scientists capture biological organisms they say ''Come from Outer Space''

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByJM2bnzD6M

    Published on 19 Feb 2014

British scientists believe they have found evidence alien life after sending a balloon to
the edge of space. The team of scientists sent a balloon 27km into the stratosphere and
captured small biological organisms they say can only have come from space. The group,
headed up by astrobiologist Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe, claims the 'seeds of
life' have been transported between planets by passing meteors.

Professor Wickramasinghe, 74, and his team from the University of Sheffield sent a
specially designed balloon into the atmosphere above Chester during the annual Perseid
meteor shower. The balloon was carrying sterile microscope slides which were only
exposed to the atmosphere at heights of 27km.When the balloon fell back down to
Earth the scientists discovered microscopic aquatic algae on the microscope slides -
which they say can only be alien life forms.Their findings were published in a paper
during the Instruments, Methods, and Missions for Astrobiology conference in San
    Diego, USA, last month.

Prof Wickramasinghe said: 'Biological entities of this nature have not previously been
    reported occurring in the stratosphere.

'The entities varied from a presumptive colony of ultra-small bacteria to two unusual
individual organisms - part of a diatom frustule and a 200 micron-sized particle mass
interlaced with biofilm and biological filaments.'

He said these findings were evidence for the theory of 'cometary panspermia'.

This states that the 'seeds of life' exist all over the Universe and travel through space
from one planet to another.Sceptics believe 'biological entities' captured in the
stratosphere could have been carried high into the atmosphere from Earth - and not
from space. But Prof Wickramasinghe said: 'The biological entities found are particles of
    relatively large size and mass.

'By our current understanding of the means by which such particles can be transferred
from Earth to the stratosphere they could not - in the absence of a violent volcanic
eruption occurring within a day of the sampling event - make such a journey.

'If there is no mechanism by which these biological entities could be elevated from Earth
to the stratosphere then it must have arrived from above the stratosphere and have
    been incoming to Earth.'

The Sri Lankan-born British mathematician, astronomer and astrobiologist is one of the
leading proponents of the theory of cometary panspermia.

Panspermia is Greek for 'seeds everywhere'.

The panspermia theory states that seeds of life can be spread through space from one
location to another. and that life on Earth may have originated through this process.
It requires meteors blasted from a planet's surface serve to act as transfer vehicles for
spreading biological material from one planet to another.

This has been a staple of ancient , Science fiction TV/Film and literature for a
    long time......

Panspermia (from Greek πᾶν (pan), meaning "all", and σπέρμα (sperma),
meaning "seed") is the hypothesis that life exists throughout the Universe,
distributed by meteoroids, asteroids, comets, planetoids, and also, by spacecraft in
the form of unintended contamination by microorganisms.

Panspermia is a hypothesis proposing that microscopic life forms that can survive
the effects of space, such as extremophiles, become trapped in debris that is
ejected into space after collisions between planets and small Solar System bodies
that harbor life. Some organisms may travel dormant for an extended amount of
time before colliding randomly with other planets or intermingling with
protoplanetary disks. If met with ideal conditions on a new planet's surfaces, the
organisms become active and the process of evolution begins. Panspermia is not
meant to address how life began, just the method that may cause its distribution in
    the Universe.

The first known mention of the term was in the writings of the 5th century BC
Greek philosopher Anaxagoras.Panspermia began to assume a more scientific form
through the proposals of Jöns Jacob Berzelius (1834), Hermann E. Richter (1865),
Kelvin (1871), Hermann von Helmholtz (1879) and finally reaching the level of a
detailed hypothesis through the efforts of the Swedish chemist Svante Arrhenius (1903).

Sir Fred Hoyle (1915–2001) and Chandra Wickramasinghe (born 1939) were
influential proponents of panspermia. In 1974 they proposed the hypothesis that
some dust in interstellar space was largely organic (containing carbon), which
Wickramasinghe later proved to be correct. Hoyle and Wickramasinghe further
contended that life forms continue to enter the Earth's atmosphere, and may be
responsible for epidemic outbreaks, new diseases, and the genetic novelty
    necessary for macroevolution.

In a presentation on April 7, 2009, physicist Stephen Hawking stated his opinion
about what humans may find when venturing into space, such as the possibility of
alien life through the theory of panspermia.

“ Life could spread from planet to planet or from stellar system to stellar system, carried on meteors. ”

Extraterrestrial Life evidence - Panspermia theory on the beginnings of life on Earth

    Published on 20 Oct 2014

Extraterrestrial Life evidence - Panspermia theory on the beginnings of life on Earth

The idea that life on Earth came from another planet has been around as a modern
scientific theory since the 1960s when it was proposed by Fred Hoyle and Chandra
Wickramasinghe. At the time they were ridiculed for their idea -- known as panspermia.

We meet the scientists on a mission to get to the bottom of the beginnings of life on
Earth - from the team in Texas who are lovingly building a robotic submarine called
DEPTHX to explore a moon of Jupiter, to Southern India where they are investigating a
mysterious red rain which fell for two months in 2001.

According to local scientist Godfrey Louis, the rain contains biological cells unlike any he
had seen before -- with no DNA and the ability to replicate at 300°C.

    Panspermia Theory:
In 1743 the theory of panspermia appeared in the writings of French nobleman,
diplomat and natural historian Benoît de Maillet, who believed that that life on Earth
was "seeded" by germs from space falling into the oceans, rather than life arising
    through abiogenesis.

We must regard it as probable in the highest degree that there are countless seed-
bearing meteoric stones moving about through space. If at the present instance no
life existed upon this Earth, one such stone falling upon it might, by what we blindly
call natural causes, lead to its becoming covered with vegetation."

In this lecture Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe hypothesis that the universe
was seeded by Panspermia via the medium of comets and asteroids being the
distribution vehicles , landing on planets via meteorites and other cosmic debris.
Microbes and Bacteria are quite capable of living and traveling thru space whether
lying dormant or not, thus the transfer of life in the galaxy could be common and
    relatively easy, and much more........

Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe originally discovered bacteria in space with the famous Yorkshire
astronomer Sir Fred Hoyle in 1974. Here he presents a lecture detailing recent discoveries of fossilised
micro-organisms found in meteorites, and also how living diatoms (a type of algae) have been found
falling into Earth's atmosphere from space. These observations continue to strengthen Hoyle and
Wickramasinghe's theory of Cometary Panspermia in which microbes found in space originally grew
and multiplied in comets in the early period of our solar system before seeding life on planet Earth.

Professor Wickramasinghe is a Team Member of the European Space Agency's Rosetta Mission which
will see a robotic probe land on comet 67P/Churyumov--Gerasimenko in 2014 on the 40 anniversary
    of Cometary Panspermia theory.

Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe presented "The Discovery of Extraterrestrial Life" at the 5th Annual
British Exopolitics Expo at the University of Huddersfield on September 28th 2013.

Too bad that this recent and incredible find done by UK scientists (a tiny metal sphere with life material, found in the stratosphere, at the beginning of your post) it is not being more widely spread in mass media, around the world. Let's do it..!!!!

That was a really interesting post. Panspermia does seem to address many of the questions regarding the origins of life on Earth. It is good to see it described so clearly in these vidoes.

I agree with Earthship. This discovery has had little or no publicity, no doubt for many reasons. We should all know about those metallic pellets, and discuss the implications of them. After all if they have recently been discovered, are they still arriving?

The comics Rising Stars and Supreme Power would undoubtedly be of extreme interest to anyone following this subject.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squadro...preme_Power%29

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rising_Stars

The premise of Supreme Power vol 1 includes the release of a microbe from the hull of a foreign spacecraft; i.e. microscopic holes in the outside of the ship allowed germs to escape after entering the atmosphere.

These germs later cause a number of humans in the storyline to be born with superhuman abilities.

Rising Stars posits a similar premise, except if I am not mistaken, the powers are credited to an energy source that passed over a town, empowering the humans in utero and gifting them with supernatural abilities.

World Leading Scientist 'baffled' by lack of NASA's transparency regarding Life on Mars
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k31FumgQEDg

    Published on 13 Feb 2014

Interview with the world's leading leading astrobiologist, Dr. Chandra Wickramasinghe.

(This video has been edited to omit commercial breaks and music)

Dr. Wickramasinghe, a former advisor to the president of Sri Lanka, holder of the
highest doctorate degree in science from Cambridge University, and currently
Director of the Buckingham Centre for Astrobiology in England.First proposed in
1974 that dust in intersteller space and in comets is strangely composed
of mostly organic, living matter. He also coined the term "panspermia," commonly
used today by most astrophysicists and astronomers, to suggest that the origins of
life did not begin on earth, but were transported here from the cosmos.

In no uncertain terms, Dr. Wickramasinghe tells Nancy that there is intelligent non-
human life (extraterrestrials) more intelligent than us, and that he and his scientific
colleagues have been battling with NASA to release information it has been
withholding that would prove there is life on Mars. He and Nancy discuss the fact
that earth is being covered daily with tons of living organisms that rain down on us
from the cosmos, and he proposes that our governments seriously consider
establishing a viral shield around planet earth to protect us from the weird viruses
contained in these organisms. They also discuss the strange red rains in India and
Sri Lanka, and the "star jelly" raining down in the United States. A fascinating and
    thought-provoking interview.

I have nothing concrete to add to the above detailed array of articles and videos.
But I want to say I have an inner knowing that life is absolutely seeded on purpose, intelligently and not accidentally.
Not only at these tiny levels, but later, when this or that life form has evolved, species are transplanted to other planets.
Intelligent use of the materials of life occurs at levels far beyond what we have raised our comprehension to grasp.
And the souls that we come from, guys, have other lifetimes as other forms in other times and places that do this fun stuff.

    Yeah its a pretty good post , even I understood it,,,LOL !!

It seems logical to me that space is an environment , similar in
some respects to oceans in that they could be home to many
critters from microbes to giant leviathan creatures.

Some speculate the giant disc maybe creatures or craft, I
think NASA said they are ice crystals out of focus or camera
    glares or something......

Thanks for all the posts Cider .. I think this one would be one of the most relevant entries to the topic of 'ET Life' for people to start with ,
to understand the fundamental principle ( and mindset ) we started with , millions ( and millions ) years ago , Life is prevalent in the Universe ,
    and it can travel

What most people involved in the current academic curriculums fail to realise is how much the still standing 'scientific dogma' was shaped by strong concepts held by Judeo-Christian teachings for thousands of years - and its equally strong anti-thesis , the Darwinian theory of evolution - that itself is but a fragment of options of how life can spread and evolve , on planet and in the Universe .

There's no 'magic fix' in my opinion, there is whole mindset for humanity to go back to and practically , in the vast uninhabited zone where we find ourselves now , on this planet , faraway from any advanced neighbours , embracing that mindset is no way easy ..
the distances itself act as inhibitor of interests and struggle to 'get there' seems to hard .

However , it should not stand for a reason to evolve narrow minded hypothesis or give positive bias on the side of denial .. just because 'it isn't easy' .

I think it's important interview with respect to the 'disclosure' and broader discussion on the topic , it clearly reflects what atmosphere surrounds it presently on University grounds ,
what ways do 'scientists' look upon the claims of 'ET Contact' , the whole mind frame ...that suffers a bias , and needs to change ...
