Nobody has absolute knowledge, at any level - there are educated guesses and more informed opinions, but have you noticed how 'facts' and knowledge changes over the ages?
In any case - I think in times to come we will discover that sleep, and dreams have far more significance than we understand at this point - yes we may have 'split consciousness' - but why? Would it not be more efficient to be able to remain awake and able to defend ourselves 24/7? The primal mixture of energies, the narcotic, the surreal -sometimes we just process emotional trauma, deep problems, sometimes we ascend the golden ladder, sometimes we awaken to a different world.

I was fired from work recently and for the week after it i dream t of something to do with the people involved that had me fired. I was fired unethically - set up by my boss and if the law's were not changed in favor of greedy corporations by my government i'd have one hell of a case in the court if i took it there for unfair dismissal. Basically i did my job perfectly - better than anyone else in the team but my team leader hated me on a personal level.

I had been dwelling on the subject during the daylight hours greatly tho - so it's like my mind was reflecting on what i had been thinking of during the day.
The power of a line manager is incredible. If you have a wrong person there, a career can easily be ruined. Hopefully, there's something better waiting for you.

Hello Avalonian's. I have had premonitions in dreams. In your opinion, knowledge, or travels, what is the purpose of dreams and what are dreams? Why do some remember dreams, while others never remember one? I have always been one to remember my dreams and have had a dream recently that was a bit eerie and specific, and parts have come true. It isn't negative this time. I am wondering if this could be my mind preparing me to keep paying attention to my dreams perhaps?

Forgive me if there is another post on this somewhere in the threads. I did a cursory check before posting. Thank you all
They seem to teach us a lot about ourselves.
What we see in some precognitive dreams also tends to say a lot about our character and choices.
Have you had one of those dreams where you see the consequences of a bad choice play out,
yet in real life given the same situation, still make that bad choice?

Those are annoying but an interesting phenomenon.

Other dreams are about awakenings that we are having.
Small and large revelations in the dream. Ranging from feeling confined to sexual to finding secret knowledge IRL,
you never know what the dream of awakening will bring to you. But it will always leave you feeling shocked like eating a mint.
    lol

    ___________

some dreams are about escaping ourselves, others, a life situation, or a RL disaster, sometimes all of the former.
Oftentimes people will dream of water when they're in turmoil (according to many experts).
So those dreams about falling into water, swimming round and round in water, seeing a hole or whirlpool or tidal cave in the water,
etc., they are about being overwhelmed by some emotional, societal, or physical force.

Dreams about being driven from the shore, from high ground into sand and water, are a common things for some people.

    _____________

Face, dream doubles, guides, and entities:

I studied a small bit about seeing one's double in dreams and in more than a couple cultures that is considered a bad omen.
I guess the fairies thought they could unleash bad magic on themselves in dreams (if you read Sandman, the Cluracan of Faerie accidentally creates his nemesis in a dream).
Seeing yourself in a mirror or seeing your body isn't a good dream usually.
Seeing yourself in a helpless situation from 3rd person view is another one that sucks.
Those dreams are usually warnings of a personal or general Doom.

but seeing a faceless or silent guide who shows you around or points out the important is either good or benign in most cases.
occasionally a neutral entity might cause some fright in the transitioning from sleep to waking.
also the less scrupulous entities including demons enjoy waking people frightfully although not always thru violent means.
many spirits will find a loud noise, light, or other such stimulation IRL to wake someone from a dream that is important,
so that the shock helps the dreamer remember the dream in the long term.
so it's easy to interpret a positive visitor as a negative one because some entities use fear as a tool

    Guardians and towers

there are lots of dreams where the persons we meet are quiet, people of few words, but friendly.
often they are guarding a door, bridge, or tower.

it's usually very wise to listen to these people.
i often associate them with ghosts or with living people or important ideas/factions.

they are also playing the role of the deliverer/midwife helping us through a hard transition.

    ___________

    animals

usually a healing dream or a dream about a personal fear, weakness, or strength.
animals appear most often in dreams with tests or self development.

    flying.
people say a lot of different things here.
i think it has to do with puberty personally. lol

    the labyrinth

not sure about this one. bad home life or school life.
    maybe the government being involved.

    __________

    children and elderly

someone in the world or one's life is expressing a need for your help.
