I am a believer also, that everyone has these capabilities. Some people are more senders, others more receivers, some can do both and some are not so good at either (we used to call them headblind which I believe originates from a Marion Zimmer Bradley book). I've had a lot of experiences with friends and family where you think of them and they call or text or vice versa. I think lots of people have these experiences. I think I've even had it with a few people on this forum. It helps to have a connection with the person. Then it's so much easier everything just flows. We're on the same page at the same time.

I have even had it where there's a song in my head and I turn on the radio and it's playing. I know few people have had this as well.

When I first moved out of the nest, I was sharing with a neighbor how my mother just telepathically knew I needed things like peanut butter and Mayonnaise and would show up with them at my door. He was a skeptic and criticize these as being common staple items. I decided to prove it, so I asked my mother (in my mind) and told her I needed rounded river rocks. She showed up at my door with a bucket of rounded river rocks. He never questioned it again. Now she is 81 and the tables are going to turn and I will be bringing those items to her instead. As for now she's fiercely independent and I know how to get my own rounded river rocks.

Hi, lots here I have experienced and agree with.

I keep thinking back to Carl Jung's 'collective unconscious' (not a Freud 'fan').

When we 'get intune with someone' our 'strings' vibrate in harmony with each other so we 'sing their song' and them ours.

Has anyone experienced any kind of telepathic communication generally ?

I've had experiences that could be called telepathic but it wasn't as if me and my buddies were hearing each others thoughts in our heads. It's more like, in a certain heightened state of awareness, you can look at someone and take in all the details of their body language and facial expressions at once, fit it with the context of whatever's going on in the social situation, and know exactly what they're feeling, and through that, what they're generally thinking.

This might be better defined as empathic communication but it's pretty straightforward. Getting into the right state of consciousness is the tricky part.

There are several techniques to try. I started out with a Rhine deck which is the one with the square, circle, Star, Plus and wavy lines. Of course you need two people and one sends the telepathic message and one to receive. Which it's different for different people. Some people simply need to visualize clearly in their heads, while others find it helpful to visualize a circle or square and then also visualize it moving into the other person's head, other people try to shout what it is in their heads or to the other person. You have to feel around which works best for you. A deck of playing cards is also very helpful to try. It includes black and red 2 colors, four suits for symbols and numbers and face cards which some people may send and receive these better.

A few helpful hints is try not to force it that doesn't work as well it's better to let it happen create a space for it to happen. They found psychics did much better at the very beginning of the tests and their success rates dropped off the longer they tried. So don't go through the deck over and over that will work against you.

Try to initiate as many senses as you can try for instance have someone to taste food and the other person guess what it is. Or smelling smells so cut up a lemon, apple or use incense to use and see if they can smell the same smells. Try feelings, emotions and sensations, some people are very textile. And then of course trade places and have the other person send or receive. We used to sometimes try to send a message to call or text and see if the other person got it. That seems like more fun and I think that's why it worked better. The more fun you have with it the more likely you will make that connection. We but just think of the other person or think about them. Most people when they have telepathic experiences describe being relaxed and having a good time.

There are many out there who teach how to develop psychic abilities but before you try them out, get first hand PROOF that they can do what they say they can do.

That's common sense, ya know? And here I'm talking about a real-time demonstration of their abilities that YOU witness personally on a first hand basis.

Note: I'm talking about the ones who charge for their lessons.

I've always only had some kind of a telepathic communication with my father and only with him. He seems to pick up on my words before I say them and then he says them or I pick up his thoughts before he says them and it's not about guessing words. It's somewhat ironic since I don't always get well along with him, he is one of the few people who can sometimes easily spark up my ego since he has a strong one. I'm easily affected by other people's moods and that's why I highly value peace and tranquility.

As a trauma therapist I often develop a bond with clients that I believe helps us to connect telepathically. It is most evident with clients who have stopped coming for many months and then suddenly I start thinking about them or wondering how they are doing. Next thing you know they phone me and make an appointment. This is after months of not thinking about them. It has happened several times, especially in the last year. I think I am picking up on their thoughts of needing more therapy. Often I can sense that someone is not going to show up for their appointment (a common occurrence in trauma therapy) hours before the time. The predictions have been getting more accurate over the past three years. I think of it as developing my intuitive senses. It has been helped by training in Somatic therapy where we are taught to look for visual signals such as change in skin tone. I think that working on ones own integrity, purity of intent towards others, service to others, helps develop this skill. The clients I work with have developed a level of trust in me and I in them. Another therapist I spoke to recently states that after developing a rapport with clients after a number of sessions, that he can hear what their spirit is saying. He says it is like in another language that is not exactly English. He believes he is hearing the thoughts of their Higher Self, their own spirit. He says he can tell that this is what it is because the thought impressions are often saying something different than what the client is saying or than what he is thinking at the time.

Hi, I'm new. I was JUST thinking about this and then came across this thread so just had to jump right in and post. There have been many times in my life that I have had my daughter know exactly what I was just thinking, or me with her (not so much with my sons), but that's nothing compared to what happened to me one day when I was incredibly amped up, full of energy of the kind that makes street lights turn off when I drive underneath them (I'm sure that happens to a lot of people here)..

I was in Walmart paying for my groceries and during that trip I spent the whole time thinking and probably projecting since I was so incredibly amped up, like I said (best way to put it that I know - I don't know all the terminology etc I only know my experiences but am learning as I go)... anyway as I stood there paying I heard loud as if someone said it right into my ear, "You have to settle it down!" very sternly. I actually turned and looked all around trying to see if someone had spoken out loud to me, but I knew it was straight into my head. I mean I heard the voice of another woman and everything.. it wasn't like a thought in my own voice inside my own head, if you know what I mean.. it was someone ELSE, no doubt. So after looking all around I locked gazes with a woman standing a couple of aisles over, who was just staring at me intently, and I knew it was her. I felt much calmer afterwards, too.

Never had that before or since, but I routinely feel myself projecting. I don't know how to turn it off or on, I hope that I can learn though because my negative thoughts in particular seem to amplify and project (if that makes any sense) and they really are causing a lot of chaos in my life.

Chaos - out of chaos comes order, as long as you have energy (power) which you are manifesting.

So turn the equation around. Maybe your 'subconscious/ higer self' is trying to give you a 'kick up the botttom' to change some aspect of your life.
Its is showing you that you have power, but you are in chaos, so go back to what is causing this and write down a little evaluation of what is going well and what is making you upset.

Then try to write 'just one' thing you could do in your power to make positive feelings.

While doing some research about King Arthur for another thread on PA I came across the expression "thin places." I wonder if more people will be able to access these "thin places" if we are increasing in our telepathic ability. Seems to me the two should go hand in hand. It is about the human race amping up and breaking through some bonds that were put into place. Maybe its like a dam bursting? Hopefully. In case others are interested here is one definition of a "thin place."

"A thin place can be defined as that place where the boundary between earth and another dimension is especially “thin”. It has its origin in Celtic spirituality. It’s a place where we can feel the energy of the earth more readily, that unseen life force flowing through and around us. One can sense a portal or doorway from this place to the next." Some teach say that thin places are more likely to be found in the wilderness or on the geographic edge of something, like an ocean or waterfall. Some also say that thin places are found in in between times like sunset or sunrise. I love to go for walks at sunset because it has a magical quality to it. I suppose Halloween was considered a special time when the spirits could come through and influence us, the evening before all saints day.

So I hope we all stay open and develop these intuitive abilities to communicate with each other and also to be open to communication from higher realms. So encouraging to hear the stories of others!

I can't control it, but many brief episodes of spontaneous sensitivity and ESP, with individuals,, but mostly in groups.. Once I was in a small quickie mart style deli and it hit all of us.. I suddenly was picking up thoughts well outside mee own bubble.. I thought it was just me at first.. There were about 7 or 8 of us all looking around at each other experiencing the same thing.. It was incredible and we all broke out into spontaneous laughter.. It wasn't 'thought words', rather an increase of capacity to pick up thoughts and archetypes outside my own sphere... In fact I didn't say anything to any of them.. What was left to say? Lol,,... We all left feeling quite strange...

I was left with a very strong overall impression that this type of open communication is much more easy and natural if everyone is doing it,, if nobody is doing it, then it is nearly impossible..

It reinforces my view that these untapped potentials have to do with relationships, rather than individual efforts...

None of the Atoms family come into existence without the others, the glue being consciousness... A relationship.. 2 Atoms (relationships) once bonded,, are forever quantum entangled..

Consciousness and relationships.. That's part of it, methinks...

I'd love to try these simple experiments:

1. (Asking them both together) Think of any number between one and a thousand. What is it?
2. I'd ask ONE of them to look at a number written on a card which only they can see. (Something like 16,462.) Then ask them both: What is it? They might reply in unison.
3. Then repeat Q2 above with shapes or photographs (or even videos), asking them both to describe together what just one of them has seen.

It'd be pretty simple to devise a bunch more fascinating tests. Like sit them in different soundproofed rooms, maybe even Faraday cages, like SCIFs (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities) adjoining one another so that even when isolated physically they're only a few feet apart.

Then, with them both in communication with the same interviewer on a video screen shown in both rooms, the interviewer asks the questions above.

Then repeat, this time (if they feel comfortable!) steadily increasing the physical distance between them. And after that, introducing a time delay.... like Q1 above, but asking one 30 seconds, then 1 minute, then 5 minutes, then 10 minutes after the other. (Etc etc etc )
