Default Why i chose my avalon icon

Hi everyone. i see so many great icons all Avalon members have chose to represent them. each tell a story for that person to some degree or another.

But the one I chose is a real and incredible vision i had while in Mexico.
I was lying awake on my bed with a dear friend Charis and we were just talking and musing about life. It was late in the day and the feeling was good as if two children just lying there.
Slowly I started to realize as my eyes were closed that this glowing object started to appear. I would open my eyes and the room was there, but closing my eyes, there it was, slowly expanding in brightness clarity and color. I started describing it to Charis as it was happening and so we were both clearly awake.
It maxed out in brilliance in about 7 to 10 minutes as it slowly started to fade away. I remember it as a glowing golden angular rose or flower with billions of tiny increments breathing and moving in and out all around it. It was only present with my eyes closed.
The image and feeling was so memorable that the first thing i did when home was to try to paint the impossible, this vision so unbelievably beautiful and peaceful .
So my Icon image posted here is the painting I made and only a gesture of the real moment.

Has anyone ever seen anything similar? Please feel free to share your Icon choice as well.

I have seen a similar thing, several times. What I saw looks something like this, but it is golden, there is no border, and the light all around is golden, too.

    http://alderstone3.com/?page_id=1240 (scroll down)

an addition The times I have seen it have always been in the morning, just after I wake up, but before I have opened my eyes, except for one time when I saw it with my eyes open, which was also in the morning just after I'd woken up. The room has always been light from open drapes, but the light has never been shining in my eyes. Just to let you know the circumstances of my seeing it.

Hi Silkie, what is the object? I really was drawn to the six petalled flower on the right centre.

The thing in the picture (in my post) is Benard cells that have formed in a dish of silicon oil...see the first link, below. See the second link, below for how the little flower-like thing formed.

    2) http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/outreac...n/RBCells.html

p.s. The golden thing I see (which I think might be the same thing as what Doug saw) has cells like Benard cells, or like a honeycomb that is filled with honey and has light shining through it

Silkie, go to ljwheat's album he posted above at https://projectavalon.net/forum4/album.php?albumid=587.
Marvel at the beauty of his three pages of artwork - the wild cats, the frog, the turtle at the end. You can see his double-door painting there in more detail, which is his Avalon icon. Fantastic artwork - love your walls as canvas.

To address this thread, I chose my icon - the stellated dodecahedron - because I as Margaret saw myself travel in that shape to a higher part of Self beyond the Oversoul level - way "up there". The actual geometric was milky white, with no shininess. I've found that many beings from high dimensions are milky white.

I chose the icon I did because I joined because someone threatened me. So I chose a fierce icon.

an addition No one here threatened me, btw. The person who threatened me is not an Avalon member.

I chose my icon because we are all connected, infinite, radiant beings of light.

That's also why 8 has been my favorite number since I was 8 years old (I always loved the figure 8 and infinity symbol, and drawing them), and why I got a custom designed infinity sign tattoo many years ago.

The Icon I choosed Is Guru Rinpoche, Or Padma Sambhawa. He was the tantric incarnation of Buddha Shakiamuni in order to bring the Buddhism to Tibet but in the Diamond vehicle called Vajrajana. He wasn't born the usual way but he manifested in a Lotus flower on a lake in the actual Pakistan " Oddyana".
When he came to Tibet he had to conquer loads of demons which he all subdued and gave them the option to work from now on for the benefit of Dharma practitioners in form of protectors. To discribe his extraordinary life I don't have the time .
But here is the main thing which is mindblowing. He manifested some 1300 years ago. He never died but he told his closest disciples that he had to go to another dimension to fight the most brutal, violent and awfull deamons, because if he wouldn't do so they will come to earth and feast on the whole humanity and destroy te earth for ever.
Because the earth and your existence as a human beeing is your only chance in the whole universe to attain enlightenment.
