If i think better of it... I gotta admit Dennis has a point.
I respect too much human integrity, and members here to get involved into imprinting beliefs into someones head.
It is anyways DeDucted and conditioned to choose between two illusions.
I tried, i really did .. but arguing is not my mission, i rather walk than talk.

Since day one here i try to say it is not about arguing, even discussion is cool stuff, it is not definite.
When we enter space and see sphere I will gladly tell you that you are right and me was blind.. untill than we are all blind, only that I am aware of my own blindness and question EVERYTHING.

World is falling apart ... while we discuss giant mantoids, possibility of shape of something or even stars and moon projections on firmament.. it all slowly but quite shurely going downwards.

DarMar, I know you're a artist (I have seen some of your amazing work.) One of the tasks in art is to try to render 3 dimensional objects onto a 2-D medium (paper, canvas.) You know how to represent a sphere on paper. You could teach a class in rendering 3D on 2D media. So, what do you do? What does the representation of the 3D sphere look like on paper - how was the illusion of 3D achieved?

Shading, right?

You can hold a ball (or glass sphere, a la M C Escher) in your left hand, have a single source of light, and you can see what the lighted portion of the sphere should look like, and what the shaded/shadow portion should look like. You can add another ball, and have one ball cast a shadow on another. You would know exactly how to draw this, what it would look like.

When you see the Earth's shadow on the moon, your eyes see exactly the same thing. No one can fool you. Yes, the Global Rulers have flooded us with lies - but this shadow cast by a spherical object onto a spherical object - you know this one, you know what the shapes are, you cannot be fooled.

It is great that you have a wide open mind, but to do your engineering work, you had to know and understand the physical properties of the item you were engineering. The fact that very powerful people lie would not remove the engineering formulas, the physical properties of your components, right?

The magnetosphere of Earth is a torus, and the Earth itself (land & water) is (approximately) a sphere within that toroidal magnetosphere. You know this is true, despite the reality that very powerful people lie about anything and everything that affects their power and fortunes - but they cannot take away your ability to discern reality.

You're right - this is a silly thing to argue about, and not worth getting upset about. Humanity needs us to focus on more important topics - I agree with you. It would be silly for you to leave Avalon over this thread. Stay and spread your love, spread your artistry, spread the idea to focus on what humanity needs us to focus on.

Refusing to describe what the videos are, because everyone should spend over an hour listening to them on your say-so. Repeated rude responses to Dedukshyn, apparently on the grounds that anyone not seeing the wisdom of your flat earth view is trapped in some rigid past.

Please show some respect for other people's time. Please show some respect for other people's reasonable posts.

If you were right about the earth being flat, then you should know that a humble regard and respect for other people's "round earth" views would be essential to having any chance of being heard.

There is nothing positive that this thread can accomplish other than perhaps being a temporary palliative for hypotension.

Presenting a youtube video with a number of confusions, over simplifications and bogosities, and asking others what we think of it, is a poor use of our time.

Those who understand celestial mechanics better could, if they wanted to, extract each claim from this video into text, in a response, and explain carefully why each such claim is wrong.

Such an effort would be a waste of time, however, as those who already know this stuff won't learn much, and though who found this video compelling likely lack the foundation required to understand the rebuttals.

So ... the result is that people waste their time ... to little useful effect.

If we have insight into some matter which runs contrary to one of the current "accepted" views (this happens fairly often around here, as some of the "accepted" views are terribly bogus) then the better way to approach the topic is to first understand the matter well enough that you can yourself, in your own words, present a clear explanation of your insight. That exercise alone will enable you to filter out some of the nonsense, and the result will be more quickly accessible to others, so that they can see where your thinking is going, because you spelled that out, in your own words, and have some chance of either learning from you, or teaching you.

The Flat Earth Theory keeps popping up. And it doen't seem to be going away no matter how much the conspiracy theorists get mocked for trying to prove it. Maybe this is one of those things that for every one theory, there's an opposite one just as viable?

I used to think that Earth was round because of what I saw in the night sky. Oh yeah, and because it was taught at school. One of the things I learned at school was how the earlier scientists were mocked for trying to prove the Earth was round when people KNEW it was flat. So, the brainwashing began until now a flat Earth is unthinkable.

I've recently read something about water being just outside of our atmosphere. And there was another article about there being an impenetrable lake in the ocean. Are we actually viewing the universe as if we're in a macrocosmic bowl of water? hmmm.... That could be....

Consider this, too: The Earth has been around for billions of years. And in all that time, isn't it likely that it had been struck many times by huge passing meteors that may have broken off huge chunks from it? For all we know, Earth may look like a floating piece of rock. How many times have we heard that everything in our world is an illusion or a hologram? Why is that? I can tell you that SOMEONE has made damn sure that we only see what they want us to see.

Open your minds because this may be more possible than you think. And I'm not afraid of being mocked. Time will tell us the Truth which is all any of us ask....

There's a lot of satellites orbiting Earth, I'm sure some photo's would have ended up on YouTube. Although you have to keep an open mind about this stuff it seems to me some of the science may have been fitted around the theory. A friend of mine knows someone who paid a lot of money to fly at very high altitude and the earth did have curvature.

I suggest you can sort it out with unified field theory Maia Gabrial , follow the curvature .
That's where we live as supposedly limited 4 D entities ( from strictly 3D point of view ) , no matter what form of existence and lifeline you assume ,

you're living on a wave that starts at some elevated point A , curves in space couple of times unless you insist on aboding in Singularity focal point with Space and Stars bending around your Singularity ,
and exit the wave at point B . It's all that matters .

You're on Time-Space Walk that looks like wave to me but you can also depict it as linear timeline, strictly taken .


Remember this trick next time you think about it : the reason why anything appears even and flat to us is that we live under particularly exerted gravity and atmospheric pressure . More pressure the more even the Space appears .

But back to my original point , you can roll Space to itself like infinite plane , like a pancake and it's fairly plausible way how to look at it .

The people who suggested that Universe started from Singularity can't provide any proof that it was not, in fact a Line instead . Naturally , you can roll time-space around a Line , rather than any Singularity .

I have personally stood on a beach next to the Pacific Ocean. I observed a large container ship sailing directly away from me. As it got farther away it began to grow shorter as it dipped below the horizon. finally it disappeared beneath the horizon. This suggests a round earth. I once watched a video of a trip of the U-2 Spy Plane. It flew at such an extremely high altitude that the curvature of the earth was observable. This suggests a round earth. When an airplane flies around the world, it may start out at say Los Angeles. If it continues to fly west, it will eventually end up where it started even though it has to make adjustments to the course because of different sovereign countries with different flight regulations. This suggests a round earth. When an airplane attains cruising altitude, it consistently maintains the altitude at feet above sea level. This can either be done by auto-pilot or by pilot control. It does not continually dive but just maintains the altitude and often has to make minor adjustments. There is a method of navigation called great circle navigation. This results in the shortest course by taking into consideration the curvature of the earth. I have seen pictures of earth from thousands of miles away and it is round. I don't think they were faked. There are many more examples but why waste time.

I have to say that I know the earth is round. I think those who think it is flat are misguided. If the earth is a hologram, it is a round one.

I can't believe people are even arguing about this theory I haven't seen a shred of evidence that even makes me consider it is flat lol grab a telescope look at the other plants around us. Or if the world was flat planes that I'm sure everyone has flown in would take a str8 line route to there destination which they do not because the earth is not round when they take long voyages they take routes that are more like an arc because of the planets shape lol

Not everything we have been told is false and opposite of the truth, even though most of it is. I think this theory is a distraction and a silly one at that.

I'm open to almost everything, but I'm sure that so many astronauts and astral travellers could confirm the flat Earth theory not to be true. Even here in Avalon we have several times talked about this issue and it's ridiculous.

Let's just use common sense here, does the Earth look flat in this video?
