Default The Consent We Give To The Space-Time Illusion

    Hi Everyone,

Is everything that exists in Space-Time an Illusion?

Is everything We can see, hear, feel, taste, touch, all just illusion?

Will considering these ideas, and contemplating what were not, help
us to understand the truth of Who we are?

Is the Body/Action Figure real or is it also illusion?

Hopefully, in considering these ideas, We can see, the consent We have
given, to temporarily see Ourselves as weak powerless individuals, with a
    temporary existence.

Ron Mauer Sr, mentioned a book a short time ago, by Richard Bach.
Being reminded of This book, Illusions: The Reluctant Messiah, brought a
lot about the reality of this world back to mind. Also after reading it again,
I noticed, how much it has in common with A Course In Miracles.

Here is a excerpt from ACIM.

No one can suffer loss unless it be his own decision. No one suffers pain except his choice elects this state for him. No one can grieve nor fear nor think him sick unless these are the outcomes that he wants. And no one dies without his own consent. Nothing occurs but represents your wish, and nothing is omitted that you choose. Here is your world, complete in all details. Here is its whole reality for you. And it is only here salvation is.

You may believe that this position is extreme, and too inclusive to be true. Yet can truth have exceptions? If you have the gift of everything, can loss be real? Can pain be part of peace, or grief of joy? Can fear and sickness enter in a mind where love and perfect holiness abide? Truth must be all-inclusive, if it be the truth at all. Accept no opposites and no exceptions, for to do so is to contradict the truth entirely.
    .....ACIM

These two paragraphs have much within them to consider. The harder We hold to
Our lives here and this world, the more these two passages will be rejected.

Perhaps there are gains to be made from these ideas!

    With Love

Truth does not need anything to confirm it.
Space and time are not required for Truth to be.

Everything we choose, consent to, is seen to have pay value.
We can deny that we choose misery but the ego takes great delight in being the most miserable entity on the planet.
    Specialness is perceived in this.
Being different (separate) is important to the ego, a certain feeling of uniqueness.

ACIM says that Specialness is the last resort of the ego.--if I remember correctly.

    Thanks for this thread Barry.

I've considered this reality to be an illusion for the last 40 years, and haven't found any compelling evidence to the contrary. It seems very real at times, until you step back and put things into their proper perspective.
I think ACIM does a superb job in describing the difference between this reality and our true home.

space time illusion are some of the overused abused words.

"truth does not need anything to confirm it"

    so true

"All truth are self evident" Ghandhi

which means that we don't need anyone to tell us which is which

And yes "salvation" as if we are in constant danger.

Once we stop seeing the magic in the world, we are no longer fulfilling the game we are here to play, so the space we occupy in this time continuum inevitably comes to an end. It is not natural for us to wish to prolong life indefinitely. That has been deceptively slipped into our time streams and falsely reinforced here on earth. One year in this reality is but mere minutes in another. When we straddle more than one reality it all can feel like an illusion. It is best to keep your child-like fascination firmly planted in this reality because it is the one we chose and the one we need. When the soul continues to be in awe of this earthy world you still possess the magic.

Beautifully said, rgray222 I believe David Spero means the same thing when he says "Stay in Shakti."

    Hi Chris,
"Truth does not need anything to confirm it" Nor does it have any needs.
What is perfect, all encompassing, omniscient, omnipotent is Our reality.
But in specialness, concern for the I/Me/My ...We give our consent and
attempt to give away Our inheritance, that which can never be given away,
    and is Our True Reality.

Only in illusion/delusion/dreams can We believe We are in a dangerous, threatening, faraway land.
While in Truth, we are resting comfortably at Home.

There is a passage in ACIM, The world/illusion is like a joke at which We remembered not to laugh. Maybe True Self enjoys a really good laugh!

Or I could be full of it!

    Thanks Chris,

exactly, and thanks for expressing it, I was reminded once again of what most of us already knew. Heck why do I seem to forget all the time. Maybe I should print what you just said and stick it to a wall next to my bed so its the first and last thing I see everyday. This fear worry seem to be with us already since at the very young age. Perhaps it will help to know where did it come from and why it chase us all the time.

Bubu, I like this from Illusions: The Reluctant Messiah, by Richard Bach

“We are game-playing, fun-having creatures, we are the otters of the universe. We cannot die, we cannot hurt ourselves any more than illusions on the screen can be hurt. But we can believe we’re hurt, in whatever agonizing detail we want. We can believe we’re victims, killed and killing, shuddered around by good luck and bad luck.”
    “Many lifetimes?” I asked.
“How many movies have you seen?”
    “Oh.”
“Films about living on this planet, about living on other planets; anything that’s got space and time is all movie and all illusion,” he said. “But for a while we can learn a huge amount and have a lot of fun with our illusions, can we not?”

Maybe instead of being serious, We can understand what's going on and just have a good laugh.

    Thanks Bubu

Depends what you define as real. If real means unchanging, then everything is changing making everything an illusion. Realising Impermanence is one of the truths about physical reality. Impermanence gives birth to derachment. Detachment gives an objective mind beyond senses. Senses are still important as long as the senses don't rob one's mind... Essentially, we are peaceful beings full of love with a general concern for everyone till the ego is developed. The physical experience if lived fully develops consciousness and helps to attain levels of bliss... I find the description of physical reality as just illusion not adequate at all. On the other hand, happiness in the physical world through material gains or sensual pleasures lead to only pain. Spirituality in the material/physical world is a good balance to me.

    Thanks for Your comment Ted.
It does seem real at times, but then so does a movie while we watch it. With Our consent
many things appear real. I think Paul Hedderman said, at least something to this effect.
We underestimate Our power, We create entire worlds from nothing and think it real, Our
thoughts are the glue that hold it all together, without thought about I/Me/My it would clearly be seen
