Default Why would some ETs show they have humor?

Maybe if there is interest it would b fun to share some accounts to support my hypothesis that some have humor. There are lots of accounts that we hear of their love so why not humor? I was fortunate to witness "trickster-like" behavior and would have to say there is a reason for displaying an emotion or character trait. Here are a few considerations but still not sure if there could be another? So many times we hear of their non-emotional behavior during contact.
    1. The contactees personality comes into play.
    2. To show they are like us.
    3. To show something of what they are.

Humour varies according to cultural differences, and it depends on the contents and context of the human itself, also on the psychological aspects to it as well. Why do we have humour in the first place does it serve any specific purpose, maybe it is a social ability.

Some alien creatures probably do have this humour, and others would not have the psychological make up or biological restrictions. It will vary enormously.

There is an abductee who's blog I read and she has some hilarious posts about her experience. The aliens(greys) don't seem to have any humor and she gets somewhat punished for her comedy.

One story of hers is being on a line or against the wall with a bunch of other abductees on a ship. And everyone is out of it...she looks around and starts singing, "one!...singular sensation! Every little steps she takes!", from a chorus line. Then doing the kick line.... Lmao. Well she got the eye stare thing and so did some other dazed and confused abductees who joined in singing.

George Lobuono reports in Alien Mind that the closest thing to a sense of humor among ET's or ID's he has encountered is
    A deep sense of irony

I once went to a conference with Stan Romanek and he related a few examples of E.T. humor. In one incident he woke up with a woman's plaid night shirt on. His wife started laughing when she saw it and eventually he did too, and some how he realized that this was because he had been abducted during the night. She surmised that someone some place else was waking up with his clothing on, and she asked him what he was wearing when he went to bed. He said it was a T-shirt which said "I got abducted by aliens and all I got was this T-Shirt" at which point they laughed even harder. A guess the laughter took away any trauma that could have been associated with the abduction.

But if E.T.s are trying to show us that they are capable of humor, they are showing us that they may indeed have more in common with us. I find it comforting to know. Advanced civilizations could make great strides technologically without understanding beauty, truth, justice, love, etc. and of course humor, but I think we humans feel that other beings may be more approachable if they have these qualities.

Hmmm if there is some kind of universal consiousness I'd like to think that it, the source or whatever does have a sense of humour. Even cats have a sense of humour. Yes, mine do, I think. So I don't see why ET should not have a sense of humour because it's wired in - though may be different. Different cultures on Earth do laugh at different things, and ET humour might be such that we wouldn't get it at all - like abducting people without so much as a by your leave, for example. What a hoot.

We're not so dissimilar then, some humans do do that. (There's usually something wrong with them though - like wearing a uniform or just plain mental).

I had an experience where I woke and saw 4 beings stood at the side of my bed, tall and pale and also very thin. The one furthest from me was looking around the room and the one nearest to me was next to my bedside table near my head was looking at my iphone charger like it was interested but the two in the middle were interacting with each other, They were talking to each other in like a squeeky chirp and they seemed to be laughing like they were telling jokes. When one of them reallised I was awake then turned to me as if it had gotten serious again and its face came towards mine and I instantly fell asleep. Maybe they are like the Queen and do not like showing their humour as if it is a weakness xx

^ I suspect it's et/ed species dependent re sense of humor.

I understand that the german et/ed's have absolutely no sense of humor at all.

I have no (known) experience so I am in no position to suggest ... but I find it near impossible with all the life in the Universe there would not be plenty of humor ...

I think it depends on what is funny to the person/et, I know from personal experience that I have burst into laughter at something and found it hilarious and my friend has looked at me with a confused expression. I think its a personal thing too xx

    .
The only reported case I recall of an ET with a clear sense of humor was reported by Linda Howe, in one of her long interviews with military witness 'Kewper' (a pseudonym). I can find the reference somewhere... it was a very important interview.

One of the many things Kewper reported was when he was viewing an ET, who was a Grey, from the other side of a glass screen in a military base. At that time Kewper had a conventionally Christian worldview, and was thinking this being might be some kind of demon. If I recall this right, from memory, he asked that question ("Are you a demon?") via the officer in the little room who was interfacing with the ET.

The ET responded by striding up and down, looking up at the ceiling, and doing the equivalent of making faces. It was a wonderful image.

If you see humour as capturing the irony of a given situation, i.e. its incongruity with respect to another situation such as a bigger picture, then a deadly serious ET sounds to me like a red flag, unless he is deliberately keeping a straight face, as you would to train or entertain a child. The proverb ‘He who laughs last laughs longest/loudest’ expresses this link between levity and understanding. You can tell Joseph Farrell is onto something from the way he laughs. Conversely, doom and gloomers are way too doomy and gloomy. See this post.

    Edit:
This seems an appropriate place to quote a post from Bright Garlick:

Quote Posted by Bright Garlick (here)
A lady I am close to, who I have previously mentioned as having worked for a certain government with Earth based ET's, has a very close relationship with an ET who whilst very ancient, more empathic than any human on Earth, very diplomatic and intelligent - having steered many major diplomatic meetings among those in power (in the guise of human and alien), also has an aspect to his character that is not unlike Paul in the recent Hollywood film. He has been known to be just as badly behaved and embarasing. He isn't per se someone who needs too be funny, he does it to change human behaviour when humans get too stupid or fixated in their ideas.

His race is one of the Creator Races I have spoken about on my videos but their race is vastly different to the other Creator Races I have a relationship with - who do not have humour as an aspect of their personality - although they understand it. It pleases me immensely to know that the universe is teeming with space faring races who are serious and humorous. Our friend, let's call him Dude, is probably funnier than Billy Connoly and in my eyes that speaks volumes !
