Default Looking for alternatives to Antibiotics

I have had the flu now for about a week....the cough, sore throat, chills and burning in my ears is just not going anywhere.....I have been taking ACV and honey in hot water, colloidal silver, large doses of D3 and lots of water.....zinc throat lozenges...noting changes from day to day......
I haven't been to the doctors in so long I dont even know the guy who replaced my doctor when he retired about 10 years ago??
but I have a lot of work that needs to get done and this is not helping.
Can anyone recommend anything or is it time to just bite the bullet and go with big pharma? I hope not. My daughter recommends raw garlic but I cant stomach that idea....would garlic capsules work the same? maybe its time for some urine therapy!
    thanks all

try mumijo/shilajit.. all in one solution for many simptoms. my mum uses it for her arthritis.

    edit:
also for sore throat try food grade 100% peach oil. its base so can be taken internally. its unusulal in the west to do so but in russia its becoming very popular & effective at treating throat organically.

If it is the flu, then Big Pharma and allopathic doctors have nothing to offer you.

My youngest girl just had the flu. I had her on a nebulizer, inhaling colloidal silver solution, and she used a nasal spray containing a number of ingredients. The key is diligence and schedule. If not followed the viruses can easily multiply. She got sick on Wed night, with body aches and 103 degree fever. By Friday night she felt well enough to go to a concert.

This is what I do for sore throat, tonsilitis and cough:

For sore throat: In an empty glass, I put 1 drop each: Essential oil of Tea Tree, Essential oil of Mint, Essential oil of Thyme. Then add water (don't reverse the order oils-water or the oil will just float on top of the water and you'll get it all in the first mouthful). Gargle as twice (2 mouthfulls), spitting it out...don't swallow it! The pain usually dissappears for a bit, but when it comes back, you can repeat the gargling as often as you want. This usually knocks out my sore throat in a day.

For cough: Appling a cream with Essential oil if Thyme on chest, neck, around your ears (ears, nose and throat are all connected ) and on your back will help expectorate flem in the lungs.

Soaking your feet in warm water with these oils helps, too. Our feet absorb them and gets the oils into the blood. Anything you don't like to take oral can be applied to the soles of the feet.... even garlic, but you will taste it just the same.

If you have fever, take care of that too...... maybe some ibuprophen (shy)....

Aromatherapy with Euclyptus Essential oil helps too.

This works well for me against viruses, but is also supposed to be excellent against certain bacteria and fungal infections too....CITRICIDAL - it's liquid grapefruit seed extract. There are different brands. in my cupboard I seem to have 2 different brands lol

    +1 on Oil of Oregano.

Oil of Oregano is antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. Caveats: don't buy the liquid - it is too harsh to put in your mouth. I'd recommend the "gel" capsules. Take 2 caps every few hours, and ALWAYS have food in your stomach before you take the pills. (With the flu, you may not want to eat, but do eat a few bites of something - even yogurt - before the pills.)

    Be well soon!

If you don't have a juicer, now would be a good time to get one!
I recommend the Omega masticating juicers, which aren't cheap, but last forever and give you a great juice free of heavy metals, unlike the juicers that have metal grinding teeth.
As long as I continue to juice faithfully, fresh fruit in the AM, fresh vegie in the PM, I stay healthy and don't catch whatever is going around, so it's great for recovery, but even greater for prevention.
You can add things like raw garlic to vegie juice and it won't bother you like chewing it will, and anything green like kale, cilantro, spirulina, etc. which are great for detoxing.
Other good things to have on hand are extracts of echinacea/goldenseal and extract of wormwood/blackwalnut hull.
And if you have access to a Mexican market that carries fresh aloe vera leaves, there's nothing better than fresh aloe gel in your fruit juice smoothie. I use about a pound per day to keep the doctor away, and it works!
You can order fresh organic leaves from Aloe Labs in Harlingen Texas (ask for Mike Hernandez) to be shipped to your home, but you have to order at least 25 lbs at a time.
The leaves aren't pricey, but the shipping is. I pay about $45 per month for a 33 lb. box.
(I store the leaves in my refrigerator, but they will keep well if kept dry, cool and with good air circulation, too. )
There are a number of youtube videos about how to fillet an aloe leaf. Here's one:

I bought a reasonably priced essential oil diffuser from NOW brand and I have a collection of oils now which I use in it every day.
New research shows that we absorb the mist through pores in our skin, not just through our nasal passages and lungs.
Tea Tree, Rosemary and Peppermint are among my favs.
Much healthier than burning incense, which I used to do.

yup, lots of good advice above. When I'm really sick I have a pot of ginger tea with honey staying hot (never boiled) on the stove. I take massive doses of Vitamin C and I cap up my own goldenseal powder (2 caps/day)... Chicken broth is tonifying - best homemade. Lots of liquid, lots of sleep. Pamper yourself. Good luck.

Bee vomit (let's call it what it is) won't help. Just have fresh ginger or lemon (or both) with warm water but drop the honey. It's only feeding the symptoms.

For the sore throat, gargle with warm salty water, ideally some 'happy' salt. You'll notice the effect within 5 minutes.

Also, soak in a hot tub with epsom salts, put essential oils like tea tree, eucalyptus and rosemary in a pan of hot water, put your face over it with a towel over your head, breathe in the vapor.
Keep a hot water bottle at your feet or on your chest while napping. Nap a lot!

Oregano oil is my #1 choice and it is difficult to swallow...unless you mix it with orange juice. Put your drops in a shot of OJ and then take another shot of OJ after. Most of the after taste will be gone.
I also recommend garlic but it must be raw, fresh and personally minced. This is also difficult to swallow...unless you make a small piece of toast and melt your favorite cheese on top. Don't cook the garlic. After the cheese has melted, pull it out and put your fresh minced garlic on top. Still powerful but yum.
We also use combinations of the following natural antibiotics/antivirals/antifungals/etc: grapefruit seed extract, silver, apple cider vinegar, coconut oil and various essential oils.
    Good luck!

Make your own colloidal silver solution, it's absolutely brilliant for so many of our ills, both preventative and curative. Easy to see how to make it online, and so cheap, long-lasting and verifiable. Go for it!

I have used every single thing listed above. But the one that hits the target for EVERYTHING is the MMS. I even once agreed when "in extremis" to taking one batch of antibiotics - the one and only time in my life. And it did NOTHING for the infection. And then I had to buy real expensive probiotics in both liquid and capsule form to be sure the gut flora was re-established.

An important discovery I'd like to share with the people who read this thread is that I've just seen an outbreak of SHINGLES stopped completely by large doses of MMS. Also used were cotton balls soaked in activated MMS with a little water applied topically. I had not expected such success.

I didn't see any vitamin C in that list Earth Angel.

On a good day, I regularly take 2,000mg of vitamin C per day - 1,000 in the morning, and 1,000 at night. If I'm feeling poorly, I bump-up the dose. If your bowels lock-up, back-off on the amount, you will clear-out in a day. A regular regiment of C, along with all the other necessary vitamins, plus minerals will keep you healthy, so you won't need antibiotics.

If the virus is still running it's course about all you can do is stay hydrated as possible and hope it doesn't turn bacterial. Anti-biotics are mostly useless vs viruses. I made myself an onion and garlic vegetable chicken broth soup just the other week when I started to get sick. It didn't cure me, but sure did make me feel better and help clear the phlegm out. I used 10 cloves of garlic, two onions -- half cooked in early and half added at the end to keep near raw (in case there's some goodies in the onions and garlic that might become neutralized via cooking). I just added it to a yummy vegetable soup made with an organic chicken broth. I also added good amounts of bay leaves, fresh herbs, celery seed, 2 inches of fresh ginger; and in a spice ball, anise seed, peppercorns, 1 inch of cinnamon stick, and a couple other things I can't remember right now -- it was almost all organic.. It had a brilliant soothing "warming" effect from I guess the garlic and the peppercorns.

If you have become bacterial, recovery will be slow, anti-biotics might be what you need, but at 1 week into the flu, it might still be just the effects still from the virus. Flu's don't often last too much past 7-9 days, I'd say if you don't start feeling any recovery in the next three days, you may want to consider seeing a doctor.

Most importantly keep hydration at it's max, even if it means pee breaks every 20 minutes -- your body needs to flush itself.

For supplements, Holy Basil and NAC (N-acetyl-cysteine) are both known and have good studies behind them for helping with cough and upper respiratory tract relief from infection.

    Feel better!

This works well for me against viruses, but is also supposed to be excellent against certain bacteria and fungal infections too....CITRICIDAL - it's liquid grapefruit seed extract. There are different brands. in my cupboard I seem to have 2 different brands lol

The claims on grapefruit seed extract having anti-microbial properties has been greatly exaggerated. I am wary, and would actually suggest to avoid them: https://drnibber.com/grapefruit-seed...blow-industry/
