We (the mods) heard that story too, and did a little double-checking straight away. As best we understand, it's a rumor started just on that site. If this was real, Kerry Cassidy would be among the very first to know, and if she heard Bob had passed, she'd tell me straight away. I'm 98% sure it's a false story.

I didn't agree with Bob on everything, but I will always be grateful for him introducing me to Proctor and Gamble purification sachets. P+G sachets are just about one of the most humanitarian products there are. Knowing about them changed my life for the better.

I don't believe it... that means nothing. It's all coming from the same incorrect source.

* If you post something like that, please also state James Gilliland's source for the information. All that's happening is that we're seeing rumors in full swing here.

It's also rather irresponsible. Imagine being Bob, suddenly hearing all this stuff. Not necessarily pleasant or encouraging to read. Let's hope he has the same sense of humor as Mark Twain (which is possible)!

I just cant understand some people sometimes that play these games - especially now when they pick a character like Bob and not some "real" celebrity as is usually the case !!

A good example of how Chinese whispers can get out of hand.

Sounds like quite a few people have been hoodwinked by this.

That all too easily happens! Of course, Richard is usually the most reliable of anyone out there.

"I just had an email from Marcia Schafer yesterday. Bob is fine, weak and not in great health but the rumor of his passing is untrue."

Please do what you can out there to lay this rumor to rest. This update came directly from Marcia, his wife.
