Default Welsh lessons by a 3 year old Bilingual (my daughter)

I have read a somewhere last week that the Welsh language is dying as did cornish and gaelic... if I have anything to do with it, the welsh language will never die

Watch the following video, and you might learn a bit of welsh particularity when she pronounces Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerwchwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

    Enjoy.

    Kev

Thank you Kev and Sophie! Indeed languages are so precious. That would have to be the most entertaining and educational introduction to Welsh I have ever encountered.

Sophie is just beautiful - what a joyous soul.

    Thank you both so much,

I enjoyed that very much....thanks Kev!

English spoken with a Welsch accent is beautifully cadenced and loaded with neat little nuances. I could listen to you and Sophie read a phone book and still be entertained..

As far as the Welsh language itself...I have to embarrassingly admit my full and total ignorance of it. I thought the Welsh simply spoke a slightly different form of english.

    Thanks for sharing brother

    Samildamach,

    I'm sure it's popti-ping......... Kev'll put us right.

All the way up the west coast of the UK, from Cornwall, Wales, Ireland to the top of Scotland, and then the Orkney Isles, they can all understand each other, more or less, when speaking in their native languages. It all stems from the Gaelic language, the Gaules of France. As it is such an old language they have no words for a lot of life's modernities.

Popti-ping has to be The All-Time best word for a household appliance.

    Regards.

If I am not mistaken the Gaels / Gauls were Celts, driven out of mainland Europe by the Romans.
They were replaced by migrating Germanic tribes.

Indeed, it is their shared Celtic past ozmirage, thank's for the correction.

But the language remains......... And the northern French, to this day, have a brotherly-like bond with the Scot's and the Welsh, due to their shared Celtic past.

Sadly I don't post often enough to be very familiar with you or your family, because this was amazing! She is absolutely adorable. I've never had the desire to have children but it's things like this that give me an idea of the sense of pride and happiness they must bring.

That's just lovely, Kev! Thank-you so much for a delightful video! You sure have one smart babe there!

When I moved to Italy, I didn't speak a word of Italian, much less their dialect. My very best teacher was my 8 year old sister-in-law! She was truely my guardian angel!

Thank goodness for the children who are so patient and joyful!
