    2 explosions at Brussels airport

Brussels, Belgium (CNN) — [Breaking news update, posted at 4:06 a.m. ET]

Dozens of people have been stretchered out of the airport in Brussels after two explosions occurred there earlier on Monday, according to eyewitnesses.

[Previous story, posted at 3:59 a.m. ET]

(CNN) -- Two explosions occurred at the airport Brussels, Belgium.

Federal police at the airport at Zaventem told CNN that "there has been an explosion" and "something has happened."

The Brussels airport tweeted that there have been two explosions and said that "the building" is being evacuated.

Anthony Barrett said he heard something at about 8 a.m. local time from his hotel across from the terminal building.

"When I opened the curtains and looked out, I could see people fleeing," he told CNN.

He said he's seen about 19 or 20 stretchers carrying people so far. Luggage trollies were also being used to transport the wounded.

"It's clearly a very serious incident," he said.

It's unclear what caused the explosions, or if they're related to terrorism.

The airport is currently being evacuated and a disaster plan has been initiated, according to CNN affiliate RTL. Passengers have been directed to the runways.

Witnesses told RTL at least one of the two explosions took place in the airport's departure hall.

Here in Italy on RaiNews24, they are saying that it appears to have been 2 explosions at the airport and at least 4 explosions in the Metro which is completely disabled now.

13 dead at the airport, 15 or more in the subway. This changes the situation in Europe.

My deepest sympathy to the people of brussels.:-(

Edit:Unconfirmed update says 40 dead, I dont think we have seen the end of this count

Its probably a suicideattack the officials ssay. The first bomb went of at the americanairlines checkin counter, the second went off at a starbucks on the way out, where people were fleeing from the first bomb. Superevil but a typical terroristmove. The number of dead at the airport is now 21

    Good Lord what's happening...

13 dead already. I need to call my sister, she was going to travel, see if it was today, I don't remember.

The airport windows are shattered. I've been admiring those windows since childhood, and how they reflected shiny clouds...

Update: I called. She's fine, wasn't scheduled for today.

Tough times ahead for the migrants working at Brussels Airport.

I would suspect this all is related to the capture of Salah Abdeslam ...

And the implication there/in of his local terrorist network.

Yeah the official-ish debate is that this attack had been coordinated already, just moved forward because of Salah.
The othe is that there are terrorist cells all over the place with playbooks like this ready to go any minute someone who is willing to die by blowing him/her self up?
(do the woman get 77 virgin men too?) ANyway.

These scenario's could be " safer" as intelligence could prevent those.

Another one is that everywhere through europe the bomb jackets and equipment is stashed. ready to use for anyone on a moments notice which makes it more erratic and uncontrollable really, although infiltration might help.

    As for what I think.
I am unsure who is doing what at the moment. The culprit could be anywhere on the scale from the big western invasion in the middle east pissing muslim extremists off.
To belgian/french muslim extremists doing what they feel they need to.
To cia and mossad agents posing and staging terror to get that agenda 21 thing going already.

I do feel there isn't very much I can do to keep people safe that's for sure...

So everyone take care will you, maybe hug someone near etc..

Here is an article from 2012 with the headlines, "Belgium Will Become an Islamic State"

    http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/34...-islamic-state

Here is a quote from the article about the exact area involved at the metro station explosion

Quote In Molenbeek, where an estimated 25% of the population is Muslim, the growing insecurity has forced multinational companies to leave the municipality. In June 2011, for example, the American advertising agency BBDO abandoned Molenbeek after citing over 150 assaults on its staff by local youth.

In an open letter addressed to the then-mayor Philippe Moureaux, BBDO reported that each one of its employees had been the victim of crimes in Molenbeek. The letter states: "Youngsters who forcibly rob our bags. Youngsters who smash car windows. Youngsters who verbally corner us so that we become paralyzed with fear. Young people who are not afraid to even point a gun at one of our male colleagues." BBDO criticized Moureaux, a Socialist, of inaction due to his multicultural notions of political correctness.

On November 5, the Belgian Interior Ministry reported that gang rapes in the country have reached epidemic levels. It reported an average of five new cases of rapes each week involving two or more offenders, in addition to an average of 57 rapes per week involving single violators
