Observer and I were not on the same page on some things--but there was mutual respect.
Sorry to see he got fired for being all fired up.

observer made a remarkable contribution to this forum ... that is all I will say ...
Observer's departure was, kind of a shock. I'm in disbelief that the guy would be kicked to the curb over debating geologic features with Huerve.
Hello, Everyone — just stepping in to point out that, of course, that wasn't the reason. As you know, it's very rare that anyone is asked to leave because of a few heated words on one topic. We all have passionate views sometimes, and we all have our bad days. We know and understand this, and always allow for human nature.

It's where there's another longstanding agenda that there's a problem. There was a great deal of history, and observer had been critical of myself and the forum for well over 18 months prior. Some of this was not publicly visible. He was no friend of Avalon.

After his account was unsubscribed, we discovered that he'd been knowingly supporting TeXaR's duplicate ('sockpuppet') account. The two had been working as a covert 'tag team' together, with Hervé in their sights. It was 2 against 1 in the ring, and this was nothing to do with geology. It had been a vendetta.

To me, it's Observers body of work which is archived in the deep recesses of this site, which has the potential to disappear into the abyss, which is the greatest tragedy, where the neophyte will never see it. Observer's understanding of the history of planet earth, it's evolution, and it's ultimate control mechanism and the technology of today, was second to none.

What I would like to see, regardless of the tension between Herve and Observer, who often disagreed on topics, or whether Observer was "tag teaming" Herve with Heyokah as TeXar the sock puppet, is some way to honor his great works and to highlight them.

The software this forum uses is not very friendly with observations, lessons, epiphanies, conscious awakenings, and collective conclusions, and that which is not on the front page as the hot topic for the day disappears into the abyss. Unless you are reading this forum every day, and follow those who interest you and read all of their stuff, it is hard to know what gems there are, who wrote them, and where to find them.

If the intent of this forum is to bring science and spirituality together, then there is a real missed opportunity here. Many will come and go, but their contributions need to be hallmarked, in my opinion.

Any suggestions? This is a topic discussed in the mod chat, but we haven't figured it out yet... And it can't be a huge project because we don't have the bandwidth, we're busy as it is.

Target, you've got a heart as big as the hills. And everyone is losing it right now because of four or five retrogrades, and a full moon. I've got retrograde Mars sitting on my birth chart Mars, and I mantra myself every morning, I am in charge of my aggression, I am in charge of my expression, I am in charge of finding creative ways for expression that work better than what I've used in the past... And then I stfu.

And yes, you tend to be firmly convinced radiation is safe to levels I don't, but we both damn well agree, we're not getting the facts, no numbers are given, and the entire subject is washed in fear porn. Deliberately.

Thank you SO much for offering to stay off Gio's threads. Gio asked to leave previously, and the situation was fixed by asking another member to leave Gio's threads alone, so... Fingers crossed.

    Love you all.

Paula, if you are still confused go look at the last page of golden gatherings with a lust to share.

TargeT, you are getting very close to getting labeled a shrill for good reason.

Question: who are you working for?

Ps. don't worry WiFi is 99% safe.
    You'll love this

    THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!

I certainly don't hide it... my avitar is a picture of me in uniform... on my profile page is a picture of me in Iraq while deployed.

I have been military intelligence, now I'm a "Cyber Defense warrior"..... I'm deep in it, DEEP; yet I still feel disconnected... I love what I do (solve puzzles basically & find people who are doing... questionable things... (usualy not questionable... haha)).

I, of anyone I know on the bored (haha.. forum, at least now that Goode is gone) am the best target (haha again!) for the Shill label... I don't mind; I know my intent is good & I love you all (my STANDING invitation to ANY avalon forum member to the USVI is still there.. I will do anything in my power to make a trip here possible for any forum member... should they choose to do so) more than any common man I meet on the street (due to my own callousness based on numbers & common mentality of peoples, I'm easy to sway though if you don't mind conversation and follow it with substance).

I suppose that my definition of civility does not include ignoring facts or the lack of detail; as an example: I do not let my children say "I did good on my test" I correct them.. "you did well on your test"... Grammar is so important, is that petty?
    if it is...
Is being petty indicative of being a shill?

    well ****, I'm a shill then.

(though I disagree, because again; that is a violation of grammar).

However, text is the worst form of communication possible, what is typed can have projections easily applied to it as there is no tone, no pace, no body language... how do you read intent from text without understanding nearly fully the poster? I don't think it's possible.

    Generally, we don't.

    se la vie

out of politeness I will conform to projection, I feel it's limiting and entropic in nature... but then I think humans are the ultimate entropic expression on this planet, so I suppose it fits... so maybe it "is what it is".

If nothing else I live by "question everything always" and that is NOT a comfortable state for most people and probably the direct reason why I have very very few "friends" in my daily life.

anyway... ego vent... there's my side; judge me how you will.
    From our Dear Friend Flash!

Tell Target that if he likes correcting his kids grammar, he may not mind if I or you are correcting his French Grammar. We don't write "se la vie" but "c'est la vie". Do not kill the beauty of Molière's language.

Until the search engine answer is solved and/or for those new to Avalon, here are several ways to find all posts/threads for a specific person:

    1) Click on rectangle.

    ***

    2) At the person’s message board, click on “Find all posts” and/or “Find started threads”.

    ***

    3) Click the name found in the “thank you” section of posts.

    ***
    4) Use “search”, then type in name and click for “threads” or “posts”.

I'm staying out of this now, don't want to take sides about who is right and who is wrong...
With this many players on the stage I simply don't get a clear picture.

I had no idea that TeXar was Heyokah, hmm...
So when this many people are more concerned with their own self-image as truth seekers,
than their self-image as peace-makers, it is inevitable that there are going to be clashes.

Frustration and impatience and the need to be right will always get in the way, and make it impossible for spirit to correct cosmic messes.

Faith and trust in the goodwill of higher intelligences than ourselves are the only way that we can get protection from the brutality and inhospitality of nature going to extremes where life can no longer flourish.

Running Deer, thanks for the tutorial on how to use the search function here at Avalon. I have tried to go back into my own archives, and find that I can only go back about 4 pages. I would like to start with my own writing, collate all of it into categories, provide a page with links, and post it on my thread "from the Gripreaper" Then, anyone who wants to read it could easily find it, since I'm post mortem about six months now, many don't even know who I am or what I wrote, including myself! I think it would be interesting to see if I've learned anything in the last 5 years and if there's any gems in those 4000 posts.

This would be the best method, have the original author make a collective info dump of some type... though a general format (loose!) could be helpful for structuring the info... chronological? Topic based? Information management is a very very important skill & not one I do very well at.

I often go back and read my older posts; I felt it was narcissistic at first, but I do not think so now; self analysis is the most important thing I do (IMO). I have to continually confirm that my actions line up with who I think/want to be & not who my base programming can guide me to. There may be some useful things for others as well.

I went back and read a post in the Edward Alexander thread, and lo and behold, I'd told myself the answer as to why Wisdom says take the spiritual path, not the occult. I'd completely missed that at the time...

(I was wondering why I do things ONCE, as in OBE, time travel, RV...)

    (Well, that's why.) (I think... )

(But I don't feel that way about telepathy. Natural telepathy requires heart, is truthful, and I consider it a spiritual ability.)

Running Deer, thanks for the tutorial on how to use the search function here at Avalon. I have tried to go back into my own archives, and find that I can only go back about 4 pages. Prompted to reply here, Sierra, as this subject of 'spiritual versus occult' is one I've been wrestling with for some decades.
Both have their place. A person can still be spiritual if they believe in the 'spirits' of darkness. Atheists who believe in a spiritual hierarchy that they can control or command, via the use of knowledge.

And equally a person may wish to use occult knowledge to achieve a goal, and yet do so in the utmost respect for others and with no wish to harm anyone. Yet never ask the angelic realms for help.

Children trust their parents to look out for their safety, and have no clue that the knowledge which their parents are guided by is not always spiritual, but scientific (i.e. hidden knowledge to the child, with occult meaning "hidden", as the child doesn't understand weather forecasts nor the science behind it.
So it's about what each word means.

The important thing is that all can agree on a definition of those terms.
Normally the occult path is that of knowledge of how the cosmos functions, at the level of laws. Predictable events such as sunset or sunrise. Ocean tides. Even eclipses.
Everything is very precise at that level, i.e. Source or God has a system in place that helps things to operate smoothly, and predictably in the multi-dimensional cosmos.
Like rotation of stars or planets, i.e. a huge clockwork where things can be predicted.

But then there are also the exceptions, due to the fact that higher evolved beings ( the good guys) can use their conscious intent to change those events, and to answer prayers sent to them by people of trust and of faith. And so they can break the rules of the clockwork.
Even in cases where someone who might not deserve such an act of mercy can still benefit, and have thus a chance to change their attitude.

So here is the whole process of life evolving, from ignorance towards knowledge. And then with the discovery of the infinite to stretching constantly further away comes the discovery that in reality we will always remain ignorant when comparing ourselves to Source.
This is where the abusers of occult knowledge go wrong, as they are too proud to realize that for them, too, will come the day when none of this knowledge serves them anymore.
And at the level of children outgrowing their parents, discovering that their parents were never all-knowing at all, comes a great moment of liberation.
And then they will strive on their own, to become all-knowing, before they can accept that true spirituality is more encompassing than all the knowledge in the world.

You’re welcome, Grip. It’s a good idea. You can request a sticky for your "From the Gripreaper” thread. If you've saved some of your posts, you can run a google search with the first couple of lines. It'll take you to the forum post for other possible ones on the same thread. When I’m in a pinch, I’ll add my name and a few key words in the Avalon search engine.

If I understand your post, I’d not want to volunteer for the committee that hallmarks members' thoughts. For one, it could cause division if some make the “profound post of the day” while others get overlooked. What’s profound for one is old news for another in any of the areas: money, spirituality, health, science, etc. One other layer of complication is that some relate to “a picture says a thousand words”, while others enjoy lengthy “Four score and seven years ago”.

I miss a lot posts and threads because there are subset of a subset of a category. How I get around it is bookmark them as they pop up in the news feed. Thereafter, it’ll automatically come up.

For the curious, from “How to Tips”, post #22 here’s how to bookmark in 2 steps:

Part A: Click on the drop down menu found at the top right called, “Thread Tools”. Then click “Subscribe to this Thread”.

    Then click “Add Subscription”.

Part B: How to check for the latest in your ‘news feed’ in 2 steps

Click on, “Settings” found at the top right.

Now, if anyone has posted since the last time you checked the site, it’ll register in your “news feed”.

Here’s a sample of what comes up, “Message Board: Avalonians Request Our Help”.

I have tried to go back into my own archives, and find that I can only go back about 4 pages.
If you click on the right arrow, to the right of the "4", in the list of page numbers in the upper right area of search results, you can go back further.
You can get as far back as about page 30 to 50 (it varies by server load) by clicking on the "Page X of Y" pull down menu, to the left of the "1", in that same list of page numbers. This gets you back to approx 600 to 1000 posts ago of your contributions here. However you have to go backward in time at most 4 pages at a time, 5 ... 9 ... 13 ... 17 ... 21 ... 25 ... and so forth, as the search code only goes a little bit (4 pages of results, 80 posts) deeper each iteration, in an effort to avoid hanging the forum's backend database on deep searches. It's faster and easier to click on the right most number explicitly given (where the "4" is in the above image), and go back 3 pages at a time, with a single click each iteration.

Specific searches that limit to threads you started or to some keyword can get back further, usually all the way back to early 2010, if they match anything that far back. For example, just now I was able to get all 451 threads that Bill Ryan has started, all the way back to April 10, 2010, with appropriate settings of Advanced Search.

The "Advanced Search" routine used to have more options, but (1) they were essentially never used (2) they caused the important options to be used less, due to confusion, and (3) deep, long searches are a burden on the forum database, which passed one million posts on file, as of last November 2, 2015.

I can go back further, from my backups, and I could provide a member with a text file with all the posts they made, for those more prolific members who have more than 600 to 1000 or whatever posts that they can obtain using the forum's search facility. Using the custom tools I have to search my backups, I can for example easily get all 21381 (as of a few days ago) of my posts.

Ideally, we'd enhance the forum search facility, but that's more than we're able to do, with the abilities and resources we have.

Continuing with Jung, first part was good, this one's on consciousness. Going liberal & literal with this translation (it's late):

Quote (PATTERN OF BEHAVIOUR AND ARCHETYPES; relating to matters of "the shadow"; 'the inferior part of one's personality')

The expression 'the inferior part of the personality" is inappropriate and misleading, while the term 'shadow' does not indicate anything that would fix its content. The 'man with no shadow' is statistically the most frequent type of human. The human who claims to be just that which he wishes to know of himself. Unfortunately, neither the so-called religious man nor the uncontested scientist are exceptions to this rule.

The confrontation with the archetype or the urge implies an ethical problem of the first order, the urgency of which is only felt by people who by necessity see themselves forced to assimilate the unconscious, and to integrate their personality. This, by the way, is the faith only of those who realise they are suffering from neurosis, or realise their psyche isn't doing too well. We're certainly not dealing with a majority. Those who are more of a mass type of human (cf. the masses) don't realise anything, and don't need to, because the only one who can really make mistakes is the unknown person, traditionally 'state' or 'society'. But as soon as a person realises that something depends on themselves, or should, he starts feeling responsible for his mental condition.
