Timely sync. Less than an hour ago, I sent off about 100 smilies to Bill. He's going to upload for everyone to use. I held back 4-5 of them, one of which was the one you picked out above. You are welcome to use it. Cut and paste the address. It won't get lost like some from those companies that go under because I added them to my photobucket account.

How did I get such a large collection? Initially from you, Cal. I followed the addresses to those companies. To save time, what I do is I have a file 'at the ready' with the addresses and each has a name tag and indexed such as signs, animals, favorites.

Gemini, that was a bit of a surprise. Scorpio ascendant seems to fit the problem with the inaccessibility of his public image and related works. I read he's been quite smart in outsmarting his record company; two crafty hands on a guitar and a mind in its own sign? Is this also a case of combustion?

I certainly don't hide it... my avitar is a picture of me in uniform... on my profile page is a picture of me in Iraq while deployed.

I have been military intelligence, now I'm a "Cyber Defense warrior"..... I'm deep in it, DEEP; yet I still feel disconnected... I love what I do (solve puzzles basically & find people who are doing... questionable things... (usualy not questionable... haha)).

I, of anyone I know on the bored (haha.. forum, at least now that Goode is gone) am the best target (haha again!) for the Shill label... I don't mind; I know my intent is good & I love you all (my STANDING invitation to ANY avalon forum member to the USVI is still there.. I will do anything in my power to make a trip here possible for any forum member... should they choose to do so) more than any common man I meet on the street (due to my own callousness based on numbers & common mentality of peoples, I'm easy to sway though if you don't mind conversation and follow it with substance).


I suppose that my definition of civility does not include ignoring facts or the lack of detail; as an example: I do not let my children say "I did good on my test" I correct them.. "you did well on your test"... Grammar is so important, is that petty?

However, text is the worst form of communication possible, what is typed can have projections easily applied to it as there is no tone, no pace, no body language... how do you read intent from text without understanding nearly fully the poster? I don't think it's possible.

out of politeness I will conform to projection, I feel it's limiting and entropic in nature... but then I think humans are the ultimate entropic expression on this planet, so I suppose it fits... so maybe it "is what it is".

If nothing else I live by "question everything always" and that is NOT a comfortable state for most people and probably the direct reason why I have very very few "friends" in my daily life.

anyway... ego vent... there's my side; judge me how you will.

The morning after Tropical Storm Erika we were contacted by a family that had found a baby mongoose that had been washed into the street. This baby mongoose still had not opened its eyes, was emaciated and lethargic.

I truly appreciate the support, but I think Giovanni needs it more (or maybe I'm being assumptive). I like the guy, I have no quarrel with him. I hope this isn't a long term issue at all and he continues to be a positive contributor to this forum.

I feel like I escalated this situation because I was a bit "worn out" from my own personal life situation the last few weeks and vented in this more public thread... I do not regret what I posted in his thread, but I am sorrowful that this would have (or did, I'm still not sure) caused anything more than a provocative thought or two (which is usually my only goal).

At this point I'm willing to offer to help him fly down for a vacation on the beach, free horse rides & a place to stay! I'm CERTAIN this could be cleared up "face to face".


(If my distaste for text communication hasn't been clear.. I'll state it again now: THIS IS THE WORST WAY TO COMMUNICATE! for various reasons that I can expand on further if desired). so much confusion in text...

So here's how my brain works:


Problem: text based communication.
Symptom: No personal context
Symptom: No pacing, or tone for contextual reference
Symptom: No body language, facial expressions or gestures to help give emphasis and meaning to contextual reference

Solution: Video based communication
Sub problem: not time sensitive, minor contextual issues.

I have a YouTube channel and am comfortable creating video responses, but perhaps we can encourage or tie in somehow video based communication? I think much of the messages could be clarified via video due to the above issues and lacks in text communication.

Natively there is no way P.A. could support this, the video requirements are just too great for a low funded site like this (full disclosure: I've never donated to the forum monetarily, but do not think that is a bad thing). Implementation would be difficult, but not impossible (GO PAUL!).

I know my energy is not always acceptable, I'm an incessant "fixer" even when sometimes things don't need fixing. But hey, we play the cards we are dealt, right?

After that trip from Alaska (which for sure was no family vacation) you deserve a stint in the Caribbean, TargeT.
But having lived there myself for many years I also know that it isn't always as stress-free as off-islanders assume.

I just hope Gio gets to read your post up there....

And I also want to say that after having looked into those "offensive" posts of yours, I actually share your sentiments re facts and precision data when comes to speculating about end of the world scenarios.
It's a huge world, after all....

Observer's departure was, kind of a shock. I'm in disbelief that the guy would be kicked to the curb over debating geologic features with Huerve.


I went back and read the back and forth just to see what took place, and it didn't seem like what was stated was getting personal or out of line. I'm sure there must have been more to it, but I hate to see a guy as devoted and passionate as Observer go.


Same with Giovanni. Giovanni isn't gone yet, and I really hope he changes his mind.


Some nice sentiments by TargeT in so far as offering to talk with Giovanni over Skype and trying to patch things up.
