Default Is Donald Trump on the Verge of Quitting?

Given the monumental uproar over Donald Trump's statements caught and released today by The Washington Post, the Trump camp has, for several hours, been in crisis mode, hunkered down incommunicado in Trump Tower. The outcome of their discussions with Trump will be a decision about whether or not his campaign will be continued. Reporters are currently on the sidewalk in front of Trump Tower, awaiting a promised statement from the campaign. They have been told that a video release about this debacle is imminent. As of 11:26 EST none has been forthcoming.

The Republican party itself is enduring paroxysms within, as members are being forced to once again declare their support for their candidate. Many are withdrawing their support as the night wears on. The latest revelations regarding Trump's character will make it very difficult (an understatement) to stand behind him. Several GOP leaders have already withdrawn their endorsements. Notably, Paul Ryan has cancelled his appearance at an event scheduled for tomorrow at which he would have had to publicly endorse Trump.

Later edit/inclusion - Sorry for not including a link when I first posted this. I had assumed that the explosion of coverage on the MSM would have been noticed already. Here's a link to a NY Times online article.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/08/us...omen.html?_r=0

In a nutshell, he claims that because he is a "star" he can get away with grabbing women's pussies. Complete strangers. There's a lot more, but this statement is the most egregious.

The outrageousness of his statements are so shocking that it will be difficult if not impossible for this man to be respected by most people, let alone be considered a man worthy of the position of being the leader and representative of the United States. He is well on his way to becoming a political pariah.

This "October Surprise" could mark the beginning of the end for Trump's presidential ambitions.

    We'll see.

In a 2005 video of Donald Trump speaking with celebrity interviewer Biily Bush (of those Bushes) where he boasted how he used his stardom to approach women and "grab 'em by the pussy."

The comment that Mgray quoted is nothing that a trucker, logger, investment banker or clerk wouldn't say in a bar after a few beers. These are the disaffected workers that Trump is appealing to. This 'scandal' will only cement his position as a red-blooded, all-American enemy of the establishment. Not that I believe the Pro-Trump propaganda, but that's the ticket he's riding on.

It's just a stupid, ill considered remark from 10 years ago. Compare that to Hillary, who murders her enemies. If anything, this'll only increase his support.

Except that, if you listen to the whole tape, it's NOT just on ill considered remark - it's a whole story about his attempts to seduce a married woman (rejected, he goes on to disparage her physical appearance - sour grapes!) and is a wide open window into the workings of his vile soul - his immature misogyny and his sense of entitlement that makes him so toxic as a human being. He is not drunk, he's on his way to a TV appearance, and is mainly concerned that he get prepared by munching on tic-tacs so that he'll be ready should he suddenly lose control and make a sudden move to kiss "the beautiful".

His support is already weak among women voters and those who wish to be seen as having integrity. While he may indeed have cemented his position among some supporters, there are not enough angry white racists left to make his run viable. He is, in my humble opinion, toast. With a hefty helping of orange fluff spread.

Withdrawn. No one outside the US cares what happens anyway. The fact that people are incensed over relative non-issues like this, and so forgiving of Hilary's murders, lies and war stance, just looks surreal from the outside.

The conflict will be decided by banking and technology, not politicians. I suggest people learn a skill-set and build their own future.

I am very worried about the take-over of the planet by mentally unbalanced morally corrupt sexually immature not quite humans who have every intention of murdering off the human race. The Clinton horror story aside, what do you think of Rockefeller wanting a NWO where everyone has accommodation, enough to eat, etc., and a peaceful way of life on one hand; and on the other hand, we must murder 90% of the human race to do it, brutalize and exterminate all the animals in the wild and domestically, rob everything people have worked for, poison their food and medication, babies, soil, water, toothpaste, etc., etc. These people are totally INSANE. We cannot have such ruling over any part of this planet.

If Hillary didn't withdraw after committing perjury, being caught in bribery, corruption and pay-for-play, and all the rest, then Trump isn't going to quit over some crass remarks made 10 years ago.

Actions speak louder than words. Murderers can say very polite things. Isn't that right, Hillary? This is just another crock of liberal hype and wishful thinking. They are nervous as hell as will do or say anything at this point.

    dear Donald,
here's a bit of a left field suggestion for debating tactics.

    do not debate her.

instead, get your team to trawl through HC's many statements.

each time an issue is raised, just quote back to her what she has said.....

the best, and most telling one I can think of is, where Hillary states that every woman subjected to abuse has the right to be heard....

    God bless

I don't think women understand (or even care) about male culture and the WEIRDNESS of it.. we literally have to be hyper sexual AND "more manly" around each other..

"Guy talk" is vulgar and childish usualy.. with lots of what leftist would call "bulling" being very common.

What I heard was an asshole with an active sex drive. Not sure how that is related to him running for office, I doubt he lost any support.. in fact (as mentioned previously) this just solidifies his being a "real person".

I see trump apologized last night, trump didn't bring up any trash at the debate and was honorable enough to not say anything in front of hillarys daughter at the debate, as far as trumps language, its all sailor talk between a bunch of guys, or when a bunch of guys are downing a few whiskeys around a fire, egos to impress and big words to embellish. Yes but are your blokes running to be leader of the free (eyeroll) world ? Are your blokes making statements like "nobody respects women more than me. Nobody !"

Yes it's a statement from a while ago and I'm actually surprised being that billy bush was involved it even got out. His job is on the line as he's in a very female driven time slot.

I personally think a lot of dudes speak like this when they think no (woman) one will ever hear and it doesn't make them sexist, just total assholes.

Which fits right in with Cathy obriens story of Hillary. And I quote, Hillary. "Oh my god, eat me, eat me now!"..

If anything, this'll only increase his support.
that kind of language is perfecly normal mode of conversation at my place of work... its all just bloke noise really....

And so right on the front page of the daily mail today here's the other side of the story

Gennifer said: ‘I don’t know Huma or the Weiners. I justknow what Bill told me and that was that he was aware that Hillary was bisexualand he didn’t care. He should know.
'He said Hillary had eaten more p***y than he had.’

And so who really gives a crap about any of this , This is such BS and I'm totally looking at all of this trash being brought up to the main street media, or main street trash or main street minions, who are these people that have zero lives that need to publish such trash anyways, that sit around a desk, no wait they are probably sitting in the private stalls of their toilets at work with their laptops discussing this while they take a dump. Its a snapshot in time from way back so who really cares anyways.
Which fits right in with Cathy obriens story of Hillary. And I quote, Hillary. "Oh my god, eat me, eat me now!"..
I think Trump has just been cought being the pig that he is.. they are probably all pigs when they think they are in a private space...
the common man , the one that votes for Trump exactly because Trump is a pig, applauds him for being so ... one of us... and Mexico will pay...

    Folks,
I am still voting for Trump, as he is the only possible candidate who can put a monkey wrench into the obnoxious situation the world finds itself in these days. Take a look at his astrology, for those of you who can read birth charts. He has sun conjunct Uranus, which explains his creativity, non-conformity and genius (yes, genius). Who else could have made mincemeat of Jeb Bush? Who else would have been brave enough to take on the Bushes and the C.I.A.? Remember, folks, they can still take him out. I have been wondering all along who is protecting him?
