Hmm I have looked into it since I posted, and I can see both the for and against point of views. I feel stuck in the middle regarding my opinion on this.
    Just keep this in mind:

If you want something done poorly and wastefully, have the government do it...

    That always helps me decide

No I don't see it that way. I call it for what it is when someone shows intolerance towards a Group based on religious or racial prejudice I Call It Bigotry...for some its not so hard to understand...for others.......SMH
what if it's based on basically all terrorists acts being done by Islamic's, doesn't that seem reasonable?

But it is also possible that someone you spoke with (or someone they spoke with) engaged in "creative interpretation" of real news.

I fall victim to both all too often. I strive never to "creatively interpret," the latter.
I get to hear a LOT of "creatively interpreted" news, everyone on this island claims to be a Democrat and the trump hate is STRONG. I was told lastnight that trump is spending 500 billion to repeal "obama care", blamed for the Pipeline, and something about pharmaceuticals.

Basically, when someone strongly dis-likes someone, that's it, it's a black and white issue from then on, with the person and everything they do being shaded by this black/white expectation.

Self reflection and mental effort is the cure to this.

I see that you have been paying too much attention to the MSM propaganda machine. Trump has not stated that "All Muslims" should be banned from entering the US. He has stated that that the immigration process of Muslims should be halted until there is a proper vetting process put in place. Both CIA and FBI directors have stated in Congressional Hearings that proper vetting cannot be done with the immigrants coming from certain Middle Eastearn countries. Specifically because the information pertaining to these individuals is not logged onto a computerized system.

Do the search & you'll find it.

Trump wants these immigrants properly vetted. Period! Wow! Is played back into your court.
Also I quote you here "I see that you have been paying too much attention to the MSM propaganda machine."

I will remind you of what I stated so as not to get confused with alternative facts. ... "I feel utter contempt for him due to his blatant religious bigotry, racism and numerous prevarications."

It appears to me that you assumed I made that statement because of his position on illegals? Wrong!!

I have firsthand knowledge of his behavior that includes racist comments.

I was born and grew up in South Jersey, New Jersey..30 minutes from Atlantic City (AC).

As you may be aware Trump ran and built casinos in AC.

My father started a custom kitchen and bath business which I grew up working in. The business is still active and flourishing see here:

    http://www.millerfabricators.com/gallery.php

Anyway, when the casinos were first built in AC my father was fortunate to get some work made an impression on some of the casino owners due to the quality of his work. When trump built his casinos years later my father was a recommended contractor and he met with trump. Trump thought that my father was white or to be specific Jewish. My father allowed him to believe that. (My father is actually native american) During the meeting my father asked him why he didn't hire another contractor that was a friend of my father's (this person was a black man) and trump looked at him and said, "would you give 150k to a *N**g**r?" Needless to say my father did not do business with him. He had another friend who did work for trump and got cheated out of over 180k ..his business could not recover and went bankrupt...

That is part of the reason for my contempt for the man. My reason for calling him a racist...am i wrong to feel this way??
If this is true (that your father shared this story in this way with you), and I want to believe you (because I strive to be truthful and I operate assuming others are until they prove they sometimes aren't) and I see no reason for you to lie, than that is an example of despicable behavior. If this is true and the way you wrote it gives me the feeling there may be truth to what you experienced in hearing this story from your father, then I can understand your sentiment completely. Only you know if your father's story should be trusted but I would have belived my father if he had shared such a story as my Dad was honest with me.

If this is true, when did this happen? I would imagine this very well may have happened in the 80s or at the latest, the 90s. If I have this right, is it at all possible that Trump might have grown, changed, done so from his heart? That's what I hope. That's also what I have heard from some of my own contacts.

Again... let's see the actions and then see the results.
Hi Sam, I really appreciate your response. Yes the meeting did occur in the 80s. I do trust my father and his account, I recall how disappointed he was because he really needed the work. Of course he needed the work, he was running a business that approx 10 - 17 families were relying on for income. In actuality he was wise to not take the contract as a friend of his went out of business (ceramic tile business) as trump failed to pay him properly.

Let's hope for the sake of our country if not the world that he has changed, however his actions thus far are extremely disappointing.

    Best regards

what if it's based on basically all terrorists acts being done by Islamic's, doesn't that seem reasonable?

As of 2010, Christianity was by far the world's largest religion, with an estimated 2.2 billion adherents, nearly a third (31 percent) of all 6.9 billion people on Earth," the Pew report says. "Islam was second, with 1.6 billion adherents, or 23 percent of the global population."Apr 2, 2015

If all 1.6 billion Islamic's or 23% of the world's population are committing terrorists acts, then it would seem prudent to do such a thing...however...we all know that a huge majority of the 1.6 billion Muslims are moral, peaceful, I suppose, God fearing people, striving to live life peacefully and justly.

I have not and did not avoid discussion. I made my point, I listened to the replies and when I saw the discussion heading to the point where more discussion would be pointless, I stopped, due to the vast differences in our moral and ethical values.

Basically, when someone strongly dis-likes someone, that's it, it's a black and white issue from then on, with the person and everything they do being shaded by this black/white expectation.

I agree with you about this point. I do not like trump, because of his actions, and his lack of integrity, his racism, his bigotry, and his narcissism (which he may be mentally ill). I will continue to dislike him until he ends his racism, ends his bigotry,
and begins to show some signs of integrity. I cannot blame him for being mentally ill, however he should seek out a good mental
    health provider...

Your absolutely right, I'm ok with banning all Muslim immigration temporarily, but if he wants to actually be targeted then profiling needs to take place: young single male Muslims are really what needs to be scrutinized... but the PC culture see's profiling as even worse?

I'm not willing to toss commonsense in the trash because of "feels". When I see a pattern, I act accordingly to what it shows me, on this topic its this: young, single Islamic males are committing a disproportionately high amount of crime and nearly all modern "terrorist acts" when immigrating.

Obviously I'm not the only one to see this pattern, it should be acted on.

Sounds like more idiotic "journalists" to me.... nothing wrong with what trump said.

He said people coming FROM (citizens of) 7 countries.. not people originally FROM those 7 countries.. I can't believe a journalist that works in "print" doesn't have a solid grasp of grammar, so obviously this is purposefully divisive crap meant to do exactly what it did when you read it: evoke negative emotion.

    Time for some light humour...

For some peculiar reason, our (NZ) blatantly anti-Trump fakestream "NEWS" media felt it necessary to play the unhinged rantings from Ashley Judd the other night ... pity they hadn't played THIS version:

I am concerned about the world's diminishing view of our country.. Perception is reality. I feel that is where the most critical damage is currently being done to our country via trump's childish behavior....bigoted policies born of fear and I suppose hatred of and entire Group of people..more than one entire Group of people, This trump quote comes to mind

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

I believe in people, in the goodness in people. Kind and caring people the world over populate the majority of this earth.

I know that there are very bad and evil people in the world, however, not one entire Group or Groups of people are and perpetrate evil as the by product of their being. To believe otherwise, for me is the basis for bigotry...

This thread has a very clear theme. Out of respect to this theme (considering I may also have sometimes wavered from the theme), I will post more on two items in a new thread to be created under the topic Politics.

    Trump's character

Trump's Executive Order related to the the temporary suspension of entry allowance based on country of origin and citizenship as well as the 120 day suspension for refugees.

Apologies to turiya if I have derailed in any way this excellent thread.

yeah, but that's not what is happening here, it's a temporary ban to deal with a very real and very current threat. To do anything else would be a mistake, I don't see how this is an issue at all; have you SEEN what's going on in Europe?

This happened recently.... Western and Middle-East cultures do NOT mix. I've been to the middle east several times, if you haven't it's very hard to understand their cultures coming from a western point of view.

I could flood this post with crap from the EU that the "refugees" have caused (strangely a disproportionate number of them are young single males...)

Have you ever seen Sharia law in place?

    I have.

I saw a women get beat in the street for not staying close enough to her man while walking, I never saw the "stoning" but they happened.

You can ride this bigotry pony all you want, but the cultural clash is the issue here and you aren't seeing the true issue in my mind.

There's a bigger picture here, the "migrant crisis" was a purposefully done act to help destabilize the "western world" and prepare the "globe" for the power shift from "west" to "east" that we are now going through.

Trumps move effectively hamstrings that (one very small part of it).

A Late Add to my post from yesterday... This one is CIA's John Brennan giving his assessment of the ISIL situation... "infiltrating into refugee flows, smuggling routes, and legitimate methods of travel..."

    [At 4:00] CIA's John Brennan:
"Since at least 2014, ISIL has been working to build an aparatus to direct & inspire its attacks against its foreign enemies resulting in hundreds of casualties. The most prominent attacks are the ones in Paris & Brussels, which we assess were directed by ISIL's leadership. We judge that ISIL is training & attempting to deploy operatives for further attacks. ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West. And the group is probably exploring a varitey of means of Infilrating operatives into the West, including in refugee flows, smuggling routes, and legitimate methods of travel."
Sound like fake passports to me...
    Intelligence Committee: CIA Director
    Brennan's opening remarks

    (Published on Jun 16, 2016)

And as we should come to realize, it is the CIA's Deep State / Neocons / Military Industrial / National Security Agency Complex that is really behind this Muslim terrorisism, wars in the Middle East, weapons business... Hopefully Trump is on his way of realizing this... His recent battles with Clapper, Brennan, and other Ex-CIA operatives is possibly a sign that he's gotten a clue about this... time will tell.

I know that there are very bad and evil people in the world, however, not one entire Group or Groups of people are and perpetrate evil as the by product of their being. To believe otherwise, for me is the basis for bigotry...

What good people have never grasped through the ages is that you sometimes have to be bas*ards to survive. Bad people, those obsessed with control, understand this completely.

Aggressive, politicized elements are well aware that the majority of humans throughout time are largely passive and will take whatever is on the menu. On the other hand good people project their goodwill onto others and give far too much leeway to those that don't care at best and want to destroy them at worst.
That is why good people get overrun, taken advantage of and enslaved, etc. That is what is now happening in this country, the same as is happening to Europe. Not everything is political, it is also about understanding human nature.

All this new strong arm stuff should have been done 3 decades ago when the presstitues started blaring from every media orifice "diversity, diversity, diversity" nonstop... (Note I'm not talking diversity as created by a Higher Power but the politicized artificial phenomena we are dealing with today). Three decades ago is when it should have been dealt with for the dangerous sham that it is, it wasn't and the Inevitable happened. Now, the ruling class has so succeeded in dividing and deteriorating our country that it is not much of a country anymore but just a geographic land mass of groups of various people. That is not really a country according to Webster's definition.

Between our brainwashed youth who have had their survival instincts robbed from them through propaganda, the hatred of whites that this government has engendered particularly in blacks and the hatred of jews, christians and anything western in the muslim consciousness, this country has a small window of opportunity left to stay intact.

If the corporate, international ruling class, Disguised and invisible to most behind their Left agents and screaming herds, succeed in their sabotage of the country, we will continue to have huge Diversity Galore!! don't worry about that - you will have your blessed diversity - diversified slaves - diversified digitized slaves.

As researchers of the ruling classes have variously found the ruling class wants One racial, international identity, - standardized entities as controllable, locatable and identifiable as a brand of product in an inventory. It may seem difficult to realize in the midst of chaos but all this chaos is a prelude to the opposite - standardization and control of the useless masses. (and by the way, the white ruling class considers ordinary whites part of the useless eaters along with other races so all the talk of privilege aimed at ordinary whites is just another technique.)

How ironic, diversity as fashioned by our rulers really means racial standardization, cultural sameness, limitation of thought, expression, mobility, monetary control - servitude under a corporate, international aristocracy. The ruling class does not hob nob or marry outside their class - diversity is for the peasantry, LOL... the irony of it all....

    http://kdvr.com/2017/01/28/president...n-stuns-world/

I totally agree with you on this point. So would Nelson Mandela if he were alive. What an inspirational leader!!! (one of my personal hero's ) please see this extract from history.com....

"In 1961, Nelson Mandela co-founded and became the first leader of Umkhonto we Sizwe (“Spear of the Nation”), also known as MK, a new armed wing of the ANC. Several years later, during the trial that would put him behind bars for nearly three decades, he described the reasoning for this radical departure from his party’s original tenets: “[I]t would be wrong and unrealistic for African leaders to continue preaching peace and nonviolence at a time when the government met our peaceful demands with force. It was only when all else had failed, when all channels of peaceful protest had been barred to us, that the decision was made to embark on violent forms of political struggle.”

After attaining his freedom, Nelson Mandela led the ANC in its negotiations with the governing National Party and various other South African political organizations for an end to apartheid and the establishment of a multiracial government. Though fraught with tension and conducted against a backdrop of political instability, the talks earned Mandela and de Klerk the Nobel Peace Prize in December 1993. On April 26, 1994, more than 22 million South Africans turned out to cast ballots in the country’s first multiracial parliamentary elections in history. An overwhelming majority chose the ANC to lead the country, and on May 10 Mandela was sworn in as the first black president of South Africa, with de Klerk serving as his first deputy.

As president, Mandela established the Truth and Reconciliation Commission to investigate human rights and political violations committed by both supporters and opponents of apartheid between 1960 and 1994. He also introduced numerous social and economic programs designed to improve the living standards of South Africa’s black population. In 1996 Mandela presided over the enactment of a new South African constitution, which established a strong central government based on majority rule and prohibited discrimination against minorities, including whites.

Fortunately the current political climate is nowhere that of South Africa in the 90's ...but we are certainly slipping....

Along these same lines, I have a story too, though it is not direct from my father, a man I would trust completely when he was with us. This story comes from one of the four or five folks I have been privileged to know (we met originally through business though I had already become friends with his wife via our shared interest in esoterics). We've been friends for over 20 years now in addition to doing business together. True, personal friends. Trusted business associates. I have also found everything he has ever shared with me regarding his own personal experience, when somehow the story later came forth through other sources which verified his own story and view.

This man is involved in company and trust management. He is not located in the United States.

OK, he shared with me his opinion of DJT based on his accumulation of several first hand accounts relayed to him by some of his clients and/or folks he encountered while performing his profession. The stories demonstrate a pattern. A pattern of doing business that folks like my friend (nor I) wish to encounter. That form of business is when an individual enters into a contract where despite the rapport one might feel one has with the counterpart in the contract, what one experiences after the project begins is that the counterpart enforces the contract in the strictest sense and may utilize the law (and his power in achieving legal results in his favor) in a very aggressive manner.

Sadly though, the world is filled with "businessmen" who operate in this fashion. The classic line, "Its not personal, its business" comes to mind. Of course that same phrase is used in both worlds, "above the table" and below.

My concern with DJT is that in his critically important role as the President of the United States, is that he might behave along these same lines when acting as President.

And this is why an honest press is so freaking critical. I am terribly sad we don't have this - not even a hint of this. Sadly (and all and only my opinion), FOX News provides far more truth than the rest of the TV MSM, but there are times I see how they spin as well.

It is a terrible shame we do not have an honest press. Bannon is right and I am glad he stated the truth.

Sadly, Duff and his e-zine, Veterans Today, has proven multiple times to be disinfo. Regarding the specific subject (and arguments set forth) in this specific piece, elements of this EO will play out in court. Note, also, adjustments can be made, and if the post of turiya's above related to Green Cards is true news, then we already have an example of this.

No shot this ever generates into impeachment.

We all also should beware of selective reading... something I have had to adjust within myself.

Remember that thing I said about the media and lies?

I think Mr Mandela is an EXCELLENT example....

Here he is being a hero:

He was a literal terrorist for 2 years, the MK's participated in public bombings & Mr Mandela was the guy calling the shots at the time (OK city bombing, Boston bombing, stuff like that). He refused to tell the MK to stop bombing people (as a way to get out of prison early). He was put on trial for 156 public violent acts (included bombings). But he was a Communist supporter & so the left hails him as hero...

Under Mandela the average income of ALL races in S Africa droped 40% from 1995 and 2000.... 40%!!!!!

South Africa is now the rape and murder capital of world (Thanks mandela!).
Quote When the scourge of apartheid was finally smashed to pieces in 1994, the country seemed to have a bright future ahead of it. Eight years later, in 2002, 60 percent of South Africans said life had been better under apartheid. Hard to believe–but that’s how bad things were in 2002. And now they’re even worse. When apartheid ended, the life expectancy in South Africa was 64–the same as in Turkey and Russia. Now it’s 56, the same as in Somalia. There are 132.4 rapes per 100,000 people per year, which is by far the highest in the world: Botswana is in second with 93, Sweden is in third with 64; no other country exceeds 32.

Nelson Mandela is an excellent example of how the media can spin a topic to their own agenda (communism/socialism is good!) when the exact opposite is true... one of the better examples out there.

These are not hte first executive orders, every president abuses this system, I don't even really get the point of this article; it doesn't make a lot of sense with the current reality we live in (Executive orders are not challenged, they should be)

Veterans Today is the furthest left leaning thing you'll find with the word "veteran" in it, they skew and twist "facts" with the best of them.
