There are equal voices on the forum on either side of the issue and no logical person would say Avalon was anything that its not. Another prior member whom we all know mentioned to be following this thread and that wouldnt be possible now.

A lot of this is about control. And people feeling they're being controlled. Those who are sensitive to the controllers in the global elite (acting through Google, YouTube, Facebook, and all the rest) are super-sensitive when it seems to them that the mods here are 'controllers' too, in the same way.

People value freedom, and freedom of expression, and the freedom to make their views known to a wide audience. I really respect that — it's a VERY important principle. But none of this is easy, simple, or straightforward. Ironically, what we're all trying to do here is calm down all the animosity and not lose any more good people who we've all known for years.

To those on the receiving end of thread suppression, it’s difficult not to view it as though some voices are more equal than others. Despite the best of intentions to keep the balance.

Hiding the thread away is tantamount to repression in my view. Out of sight/out of mind. Which never does anything to fix the underlying dynamic that created the rifts to begin with. Like a snake biting its own tail, repression only comes back around to bite itself in the ass eventually. As any psychologist would agree, never an effective long term strategy.

No point having new members sign up to follow a thread in the members-only section if the thread has died because productive posters have jumped ship and sailed to different shores.

That doesn't mean we're going to be censoring anybody! You and anyone else here can still continue doing what you've been doing all along. And anyone else who wants to discuss Q can do same, they merely have to sign up here. But what we're not going to do is advertise Q as front page news anymore - it's clearly given the wrong impression of the forum, and has distorted its original purpose. We have to take some small steps to remedy that, and all we're asking for is a little understanding in the process.

Something is missing from this picture and my guess is the hidden leverage from some hidden hand we don't know about because someone answers to someone and did what they were told. This same thing is going on all over youtube and everyone, even some of those wanting this thread suppressed complained about that yet now you do the same thing? Something doesn't add up here!

I think it might have been easier to just change the title of the thread.
Perhaps words that reflect the investigative spirit of Avalon.
Like “Impartial Analysis of US Party Politics”. Or even Trump’s Battle against the Deep State”.
I always thought that Avalon had a consensus that a hidden elite existed and was pulling strings behind the scenes. And that the MSM was their propaganda machine.

So if any video appears that some consider propaganda, and especially if it lacks solid evidence it can be easily debunked. Rude responses from either side can be given an immediate taste of moderator action, regardless which side of the party divide it is coming from.
Hiding the thread from public view is only adding to the division, as is forcing Avalon’s dialogue into a specific direction only. Anyway, whatever works.
Since Bill and the mods have the control it is up to them, of course, but I for one am disappointed that some people here see being “fascinated” or “entertained” with a political phenomenon as a threat to the forum, and even use confrontational language, and get away with it.
Lets do a poll how many members came here because they were “fascinated” with the UFO phenomenon.
Moderation can go too far either way, and protecting members here who are offended by those who are merely “fascinated” or take umbrage because a certain thread appears a lot on page 1 is in my view proof that the mod team is more politically engaged than I thought, and at least has lost all sense of neutrality.

Maybe wimp is too strong a word. There might be real danger lurking.
If Bill as the forum owner had received threats for giving a platform to so many Q posters would he tell the rest of us, knowing what they are capable of?

With all due respect, just fwiw, I found a link to Project Avalon as suggested reading on a 'Patriot's' blog under a link to 'Stormfront,' Stormfront is a neo-Nazi forum. I doubt any member here, regardless of persuasion would think that's okay. It's highly likely the link ended up on that blog because of the pro-Q thread being on view to the general public.

The thing about Q anon is there are well meaning curious individuals on that thread. They mean no harm and are positive in their intent. I have come to see that over the last couple of weeks, because I have been listening more and am trying to avoid stereotyping. I know you are a good, decent person, so that has helped me gain some clarity. Also Bill and the mods have been doing such a great job about this topic, they have helped me ratchet down my own feelings of contempt and hositility. (hooray mods and Bill!!!

Here is the problem. The Q thread was bound to attract those from the general public who are mean spirited paranoids, as well as those just curious -- People who think that those who don't agree with them are part of the same vast conspiracy of deep state machinations, communists.. Also if left in the public domain could easily attract bigots neo Nazis etc...

I have a problem with Israel's government. I voiced my concerns on other forums whereupon real hard core anti Semitic people feel they have common cause with me. No way. So that is what I am trying to describe here. The Q thread could left open to the public could attract the dregs of society. People you don't want to expose yourself to or attract.

Anyway that's my take.
