And wow. This had to be another of Zelensky's wild direct orders, effectively sending most of those men straight to their deaths.

And almost impossible to explain rationally. Why do this when the IAEA delegation was right there on the spot??

It had to be a desperate attempt to prevent the inspectors from seeing what was really happening there, maybe by ushering them out of the way telling them they were in danger as the Ukrainian special forces were going to recapture the plant and stop the Russians from doing whatever it was the Ukrainians claimed they were doing.

There'll be a LOT more commentary on all this in the next 24 hours, with many smart analysts scratching their heads in bewilderment.

    Quote Bill

If this would be the case and Russian troops do find Western Participants not of that foreign legion, well, that would by definition be seen as partaking in the war, Nato would officially have chosen a side to fight on. I wonder how the Russians are going to interpret this.

So, the Ukrainians dug up the Roland of England (Ship top pic), I have had the pleasure of knowing the Roland of England personally, been on it, drank on it and on many, many occasions laughed at it. One time in particular when we passed it on our own vessel and noticed it not moving, passengers onboard, they ran out of fuel (gasoline), I wonder now if the owners might have been Ukrainians, were it not that this happened in 1990, hahahahaha. In any case, not much seems to have changed when it comes to the Roland of England.

Roland you magnificent legend, may you fare well in barge heaven.

There is a theory going on already, based on timeline events

    1. The IAEA mission was supposed to be on the plant on 31 August or so, they decided to delay the arrival and instead the head of the mission went to kiev and talked in private to Elensky

    2. Then, they finally went there, but specified that even though they had scheduled to be on the plant until 3 September, the visit may last less than that because they 'already have all they need'

    3. They get delayed by a few hours on a checkpoint, by the Ukrainian military, after 3 or so hours they finally move towards the plant

    4. All meanwhile, the Ukrainians prepare the invasion of the plant, and all those delays give them time to be on position and close enough to reach the plant in what seems like a pre-planned timeline of events

So the theory is, the Ukros were meant to invade the plant just as the mission arrived, then take them hostage and under the "the Russians are shelling the plant trying to take it back" force a situation in which the UN would demand that the demilitarized zone gets created around the plant, which would definitely cause what Ukraine has been wishing for a lot of time now, that if this demilitarized zone thing happens, then the war will stall completely indefinitely, kind of a North/South Korea situation maybe. So the IAEA delayed and delayed just to time it right with the Ukro invasion and then be unable to do any of the work they were supposed to do, as the plant would be in chaos and they would be suddenly hostages or get trapped in the escalation. It seems very suspect, to be honest

But the operation failed, now the IAEA mission is saying they will not stay for long? That's odd, what changed that caused them to leave so soon?

Why did the head of the mission go talk with Elensky first?, then how come the Ukros at that checkpoint were opposed to let them pass? Wasn't there a direct order from the very top to let them through? Doesn't make sense unless it was preplanned to delay them there until the special ops groups had landed on the plant and were ready to take it over. It's all about the timing maybe

    Oh, just saw this

    https://t.me/asbmil/4576

Quote at About 06:00 Moscow time, Ukrainian troops landed on the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir three kilometers northeast of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in two sabotage groups of up to 60 people on seven boats and attempted to seize the power plant. They were British trained individuals recently transferred from Poland. The Kremlin claims that this was an MI6 planned operation orchestrated by Boris Johnson and that Russia had information about the plan and was aware of it happening. Full statement from Russia:

The Kremlin was aware of the plans of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to take advantage of the arrival of the IAEA mission and carry out an amphibious landing in order to try to seize the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant and make statements for days that it was Russian special forces. Under ideal conditions for the work of the DRG, they calculated the task of taking the mission itself hostage and keeping the nuclear power plant under mines, making demands for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops to the territory of Crimea.

Russia claims that Boris Johnson brought the plan of operation and some of the instructors with him as a demobilization chord of his premiership, but if the GUR was successful, he would have refused to transfer power— referring to an international emergency threatening a catastrophe on a planetary scale. At the moment, 47 DRG fighters have been destroyed, three have been taken prisoner (!), Two are in serious condition between life and death. A group of 12 people is blocked on three sides and cut off from the water and boats, by 15:00 the CTO will be over.

Zelensky's statement on this situation is expected in the late afternoon, the head of the IAEA Mission has already been notified of the situation, as well as UN Secretary General Guterres. The operation was coordinated by MI6 officers from their headquarters in the suburbs of Kyiv (Ukrainian sources confirmed everything the Kremlin said so far, as well as confirming the failures and ambush of Ukrainian special forces)

All 64 DRGs have recently completed training in the UK and traveled from Warsaw to Odessa on 29 August.

    - claims Russian Defense Ministry

Russian Armed Forces & Air Force was immediately deployed and sunk the boats. Ka-52s arrived at the same time raising hell onto Ukrainian special forces.

Ukrainian sources claim that the AFU is furious and trying to figure out how Russia was aware of the operation and where it went wrong

Another casualty of the war but not on the battlefield. Of course this is a CNN story so it really does need to be verified.

Head of Russian oil giant Lukoil dies after falling from hospital window, reports state media

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oil Company Lukoil, Ravil Maganov, attends an awarding ceremony at the Kremlin in Moscow on November 21, 2019.

The chairman of Russian oil and gas giant Lukoil — which spoke out against Russia's invasion of Ukraine — has died after falling out of a hospital window, state news agencies RIA Novosti and TASS reported Thursday.

Ravil Maganov died at the Central Clinical Hospital west of Moscow, according to the reports, which cite the hospital and law enforcement sources.

"The incident occurred around 07:00 am Moscow time in the Central Clinical Hospital ... The man fell out of the sixth-floor window and died as a result of his injuries," a source told TASS.

Lukoil confirmed Maganov’s death in a statement published on its website, saying only that the executive died "following a severe illness" and making no mention of a fall.

"We deeply regret to announce that Ravil Maganov, Chairman of PJSC LUKOIL Board of Directors, passed away following a severe illness," the statement read. "Ravil Maganov immensely contributed to the development of not only the Company, but of the entire Russian oil and gas sector."

Russia's second largest oil company made headlines in early March after speaking out against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"The Board of Directors of LUKOIL expresses herewith its deepest concerns about the tragic events in Ukraine. Calling for the soonest termination of the armed conflict, we express our sincere empathy for all victims, who are affected by this tragedy," reads a statement from the board of directors to shareholders, staff and customers published March 3.

"We strongly support a lasting ceasefire and a settlement of problems through serious negotiations and diplomacy,” added the statement.

Lukoil produces more than 2% of the world's crude oil and employs more than 100,000 people.

RIA Novosti quoted a law enforcement source who said the businessman "most likely committed suicide."

"Yes, we can confirm the fact [of death]. Investigating authorities are working on the spot to establish the causes of the incident," the source said, according to RIA.

At least five prominent Russian businessmen have reportedly died by suicide since late January, according to previous CNN reporting.

I can buy this, typical West playbook.
Yeah, and there's a reason all these talks happen in person behind closed doors, even like Boris Johnson traveling all the way over there just to talk to Elensky. They can't risk a phone conversation, no matter how secure the line is, they just can't risk getting recorded talking about these things, it would mean the end for all of them and the collective west narratives. So they have to take a trip to talk in person, so there is no record whatsoever or any risk of leaks of what they truly plan and conspire

There's must be speculation about what the F@B knows simply by tapping conversations, I wonder a lot about it. Our PM does not use smartphones, he uses the older model phones, but they can be tapped into as well, if certain People would have certain conversations from this guy, well, if used at the right time that could prove to be mightier than a weapon. I can imagine this could be even more disastrous in case of bigger players. I love wondering about these things it gives the mind many options.

See, I wonder what the story is on the West front (East when you are Ukrainian), up there at around Izium, apparently Ukrainians are massing Panzers and troops up there. I can't see that this is just to take Izium.

I am also surprised that these attacks in the South were not coordinated at the same time as the one they're very obvious preparing for. They did use the Southern attack to try and get Russia fully concentrated and committed to repel that attack, it is not far fetched they gambled, or perhaps even assumed (arrogance) that Russia would take troops from the area of the power plant to strengthen the area of under attack. I mean, they can't be that stupid assuming Russia didn't see that coming.

Spiral had some post on that:

Quote The Kremlin was aware of the plans of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to take advantage of the arrival of the IAEA mission and carry out an amphibious landing in order to try to seize the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant and make statements for days that it was Russian special forces

So perhaps Mashika, very maybe, there's a bug up the Chickens buttocks and Москва is listening in, would be priceless.

Up to 12 people from IAEA mission decided to stay at Zaporozhye — local authorities

The experts are supposed to assess the staff’s working conditions and take urgent measures to provide safety and security guarantees for the facility
ENERGODAR, September 1. /TASS/. Between eight and 12 people from the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will remain at the Zaporozhye nucler power plant in Ukraine, Alexander Volga, the head of Energodar’s military-civilian administration, said on Thursday.

"As of now and, according to the information that I have been provided with, between eight and twelve people [from the IAEA mission] will remain staying here," Volga said speaking to journalists.

Earlier in the day, the IAEA team arrived at the Zaporozhye NPP located in the city of Energodar. The delegation is on a fact-finding mission to estimate the material damage to the plant and to evaluate the operational capabilities of the plant’s safety and security systems.

The experts are supposed to assess the staff’s working conditions and take urgent measures to provide safety and security guarantees for the facility.

Energodar, which is the site of the Zaporozhye NPP, Europe’s largest nuclear power facility, has been the target of shelling attacks by the Ukrainian military over the past few weeks. For its strikes against the nuclear power plant, the Kiev regime is using drones, heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. In most cases, the attacks are repelled by Russian air defense systems. However, some rockets hit the NPP’s infrastructural facilities, including nuclear waste storage sites.

On the morning of September 1, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian troops attempted to disembark at 07:00 at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, near the Vodyanoe village. The landing was thwarted by Russia’s Armed Forces, when they sunk two self-propelled barges carrying saboteurs that departed from Nikopol.

Also, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, at 06:20 Moscow time, the Kiev regime carried out a landing by two Ukrainian sabotage groups with a total number of up to 60 people on seven speedboats on the coast of the Kakhovka reservoir, three kilometers north-east of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The Defense Ministry reported that the Ukrainian servicemen were blocked by units of the Russian National Guard and the Russian Armed Forces.

UN Security Council to hold briefing on Ukraine on September 22 — program of work

According to the document, the UNSC will hold a meeting on "maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine"
UNITED NATIONS, September 1. /TASS/. The United Nations Security Council will hold a meeting on "maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine" on September 22, according to the provisional program of work of the UN Security Council, which was released on Thursday.

France is holding the presidency of the UN Security Council in September.

Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said earlier that Russia had requested a UN Security Council briefing for September 6 over Kiev’s ongoing shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Some morons on the Ukro Twitter side don't even understand combat but they still need to have an opinion. It bothers me, very honestly, how wrong and dumb they can be but still always find a way to say something, so unaware of their own ignorance

In this case, some moron looked at this video and saw the Ukrainian soldiers raising their rifles above their heads and shooting on the Russian soldiers direction, somehow the moron thought this was bad and a 'desperate' action. In reality, this is a very normal tactic for very close combat, like in trenches or similar, you can't show your head and get it blown up so you shoot like that because you can't directly see the enemy and you are too close to expose yourself, the enemy could be just 3/4 meters away from you for all you know

    https://t.me/antinatocoalition/741

The twitter warrior has the Ukrainian flag, he supports Ukraine, but here he thinks they are "desperate", his ego is bigger than his giant forehead, the foolishness....
    https://t.me/DonbassDevushka/22390

Here's an example of the Russian guys doing the exact same thing. Ukros are on the left, the two guys on the higher ground.

Russian guys on the right side, unable to see the Ukros but they know they are there, so they shoot from above the head trying to hit them blindly, it's an uphill battle, hard to win that one so they ended up retreating after a while.

This is expected due to the terrain and they obviously had to shoot from above their heads, otherwise they would have to hike and then would get killed by the guy above that has full control over the situation and would see them coming easily. This is close combat tactics and anyone who went through training for close trench combat would do the exact same
    https://t.me/FilatovCorr/374

Also if you need to do something like what the guy did, shoot a rocket or grenade, you need the support fire like that, just shoot in the general direction of the enemy so they have to take cover and this opens a window in which the rocket will be launched against the enemy position, this also is a very normal tactic and nothing special about it

How to take serious a person so ignorant? And the internet is full of them, but this is also why a lot of people who follow those morons assume things and have a completely broken idea of what's truly going on, on both sides

Some may have already heard about this, but here's Ania K from Poland, a multilingual, very lovely and aware person indeed, reporting on the ridiculous black comedy of Elensky renting his Italian villa for €50,000/month (the same in USD) to... a Russian couple.
