Ukrainian army’s commander-in-chief poses with swastika bracelet

General Valery Zaluzhny, the commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s armed forces, has posted a photo to Twitter which shows him wearing a swastika bracelet.

General Valery Zaluzhny, commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s armed forces, posted a photo to Twitter of himself wearing a swastika bracelet. Although Kiev dismisses accusations of Nazism within its ranks as “Russian propaganda,” its soldiers are often photographed wearing the symbols of the Third Reich.

In a post on Thursday, Zaluzhny declared that Ukraine’s struggle against Russia is on a scale that “the world has not seen since the Second World War.” It was not immediately clear which side of the struggle he was referring to.

Adorning Zaluzhny’s wrist in the photo is a bracelet made up of multiple tiles, at least one of which features a swastika. The photo itself has been circulating online since at least March.

A handful of pro-Ukrainian commentators claimed that Zaluzhny’s bracelet actually depicted a Scandinavian pagan symbol, which looked like a swastika due to digital compression of the image. Zaluzhny himself commented on one Facebook post insisting that this was the case.

However, he is not the first Ukrainian service member accused of wearing Nazi insignia. Apart from the notorious Azov regiment of the Ukrainian military (which originated as a neo-Nazi militia), regular Ukrainian service members have been seen wearing the ‘death’s head’, or ‘totenkopf’, the symbol of the 3rd SS Panzer Division, and have also daubed swastikas on their vehicles.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has posted an image of a Ukrainian soldier wearing the standard of the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, a photo of an artilleryman wearing the death’s head, and a photo of one of his own bodyguards wearing the same ‘totenkopf’ patch. Two of these pictures were posted to Zelensky’s official Instagram account.

Russian President Vladimir Putin cited the outsized influence of neo-Nazi groups on Ukraine’s military and government as one of the factors influencing his decision to send troops into the country in February. In addition to protecting the Donbass region and demilitarizing Ukraine, Putin vowed to “denazify” the country.

Despite the evidence, Ukrainian officials and some Western media outlets have described accusations of nao-Nazism as “myths” and “Russian propaganda.”

A Russian human rights council has called for an international probe into a gruesome video shared by a Ukrainian neo-Nazi

Russia has alerted several international human rights organizations about a disturbing video purportedly showing dead civilians thrown into a mass grave in Ukraine, the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights said on Monday. The video was shared by a Ukrainian neo-Nazi militant, who, however, blamed Russian troops for the apparent massacre.

The head of the Russian human rights council, Valery Fedorov, informed the UN Human Rights Council (OHCHR), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and Amnesty International, among other groups, about the grisly footage.

“This video speaks of extrajudicial killings, the physical elimination of people who show a civil position and dare to oppose official Kiev. The situation is also aggravated by the fact that official representatives of the Ukrainian authorities have previously openly announced carrying out ‘tough sweeping’ and ‘filtration measures’,” Fedorov said in a statement urging an international probe into the affair.


Earlier in the day, Russia’s Investigative Committee said it had launched a probe into the alleged massacre, which is believed to have happened near the town of Kupyansk in eastern Ukraine. The town was recently re-captured by Ukrainian troops after being held by Russian forces.

The video was released online on Sunday by Maksim Zhorin, formerly a senior commander with the neo-Nazi Azov regiment, which is banned in Russia. Footage shows several presumably dead bodies in civilian clothing half-buried in a pit, with another body of an almost-naked man rolling into the hole.

Zhorin initially said that the video showed the “civilian population” and warned that “there will be retaliation.” Shortly thereafter, however, he altered his post, claiming the video had been obtained from a phone seized from an “occupant,” implying the murders had been committed by the Russian military.

EXPOSED: Before Ukraine blew up Kerch Bridge, British spies plotted it

The secret British intelligence plot to blow up Crimea’s Kerch Bridge is revealed in internal documents and correspondence obtained exclusively by The Grayzone.



The Grayzone has obtained an April 2022 presentation drawn up for senior British intelligence officers hashing out an elaborate scheme to blow up Crimea’s Kerch Bridge with the involvement of specially trained Ukrainian soldiers. Almost six months after the plan was circulated, Kerch Bridge was attacked in an October 8th suicide bombing apparently overseen by Ukraine’s SBU intelligence services.

Detailed proposals for providing “audacious” support to Kiev’s “maritime raiding operations” were drafted at the request of Chris Donnelly, a senior British Army intelligence operative and veteran high ranking NATO advisor. The wide-ranging plan’s core component was “destruction of the bridge over the Kerch Strait.”

Documents and correspondence plotting the operation were provided to The Grayzone by an anonymous source.

The truck bombing of the Kerch Bridge differed operationally from the plot sketched therein. Yet, Britain’s evident interest in planning such an attack underscores the deep involvement of NATO powers in the Ukraine proxy war. At almost precisely the time that London reportedly sabotaged peace talks between Kiev and Moscow in April this year, British military intelligence operatives were drawing up blueprints to destroy a major Russian bridge crossed by thousands of civilians per day.

The roadmap was produced by Hugh Ward, a British military veteran. A number of strategies for helping Ukraine “pose a threat to Russian naval forces” in the Black Sea are outlined. The overriding objectives are stated as aiming to “degrade” Russia’s ability to blockade Kiev, “erode” Moscow’s “warfighting capability”, and isolate Russian land and maritime forces in Crimea by “denying resupply by sea and overland via Kerch bridge.”

In an email, Ward asked Donnelly to “please protect this document,” and it’s easy to see why. Of these assorted plans, only the “Kerch Bridge Raid CONOPS [concept of operation]” is subject to a dedicated annex at the conclusion of Ward’s report, underlining its significance.

The content amounts to direct, detailed advocacy for the commission of what could constitute a grave war crime. Markedly, in plotting ways to destroy a major passenger bridge, there is no reference to avoiding civilian casualties.

Across three separate pages, alongside diagrams, the author spells out the terms of the “mission” – “[disabling] the Kerch Bridge in a way that is audacious, disrupts road and rail access to Crimea and maritime access to the Sea of Azov.”

Ward suggests that destroying the bridge “would require a cruise missile battery to hit the two concrete pillars either side of the central steel arch, which will cause a complete structural failure,” and “prevent any road re-supply from the Russian mainland to Crimea and temporally [sic] disrupt the shipping lane.”

Russia opens probe over Ukrainian Neo-Nazi's ‘mass grave’ video

Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a probe over a disturbing video showing what are believed to be massacred civilians thrown into a mass grave. The news was announced by the body’s head, Aleksandr Bastrykin, on Monday.

The footage in question had been shared on social media by a notorious member of Ukraine’s neo-Nazi Azov regiment with a history of showing gruesome imagery of killed “pro-Russian” civilians.

“Experts with the Russian Investigative Committee will take measures to establish the circumstances of the death of civilians, as well as all those involved in their torture and murder, in order to bring them to criminal justice,” the Committee said in a statement.

The graphic clip was originally released online on Sunday by Maksim Zhorin, a Ukrainian officer and former senior commander of the neo-Nazi Azov regiment, which is outlawed in Russia. The far-right fighter said the video was shot in the town of Kupyansk, which recently taken by Ukrainian forces.

The video shows a big hole dug in the ground with several bodies in civilian clothes lying semi-buried in it. Another body of an almost-naked man with his hands tied behind his back and legs held together by tape can be seen rolling down a steep slope into the pit. A shovel can be seen in the foreground, indicating that whoever shot the video was in the process of burying the bodies in a mass grave, while several men sporting military camouflage can be seen in the background.

Zhorin initially said that the video showed “civilian population” and warned that “there will be retaliation.” Shortly after the publication of the disturbing footage, Zhorin altered his post, claiming the video was taken from a phone owned by an “occupant,” implying the murder had been committed by the Russian military.

“However, the public raised alarm over the situation in the video. It indicates that the video was filmed recently, when the town was under the control of Ukrainian armed forces. The internal parameters of the video also show that it was filmed on the afternoon of October 9th. These facts speak of new war crimes by the Kiev regime,” the Committee noted.

Zhorin is already known for posting graphic images of Russian soldiers, as well as of massacred civilians whom he accuses of being pro-Russian. In May, he released photos of apparent murder victims whom he identified as supporters of a Ukrainian opposition party. The extremely graphic imagery, deleted later by the neo-Nazi fighter, suggested the activists were brutally tortured and beaten to death.

For readers in North America, just waking up, here's a brief initial summary of continued intensive Russian missile strikes. It would seem that today (Tuesday Oct 11 in Ukraine) will be very similar to yesterday's onslaught.

There have been large explosions taking out the power system in Lviv, which is now under blackout.

Missiles hit targets in Odessa, Vinnitsa, Zaporozhye, Ochakiv, Nikolaev, Krivoy Rog, Rivne, and the Khmelnitsky and Kiev regions. The Russian Navy launched 10 Kalibr missiles from the Black Sea. There were rocket launches from the Caspian Sea in the direction of Dnipropetrovsk. Two 'ballistic missiles' (whatever that may imply) were launched from Kursk. Tu-95 and Tu-160 bombers launched X-101 and X-555 missiles.

Our air defense cannot cope with so many cruise missiles and kamikaze UAVs at the same time, the Russian army is deliberately overloading our system.
Sources report explosions at infrastructure facilities in Odessa/Vinnitsa/Kiev regions, in Rivne, Ochakiv, Nikolaev, Pavlograd Zhytomyr, Dnipro and Krivoy Rog.

Doesn't come as much of a surprise in many ways but that also doesn't reduce at all its value as evidence. I would expect Russian Intel will have picked this up by now, and be aware of other skull-duggery being hatched.

The cup of patience has run out, and the Kiev regime can now be considered terrorist with full confidence.
The killing of civilians, the sabotage on the Crimean bridge, the shelling of the critical infrastructure of nuclear power plants - all this has deprived the Zelensky regime of any opportunity for negotiations.

My own comment:

I'd be expecting more and more political voices in Europe and the US (maybe elsewhere also) to start stating loudly that this must be brought to an end, and that negotiations of some kind must start. There's nothing at all that NATO can do militarily about this kind of targeted ferocity.

As Volodin said above, Russia's patience (which has been more than considerable) has finally run out. Russia is now just starting to demonstrate what it can do with many of its self-imposed constraints removed. There's no doubt Russia could destroy not only all of Ukraine, but also much of Europe if it cared to.

It's possible that Putin may state sometime in the near future: (these are my own imagined words)

What you have all seen is an example of our almost unlimited strength that so many in the west have been denying for so long. We are willing to halt our military activity, but only on the following terms, which are not negotiable. The choice is in the hands of others. Otherwise, we will simply continue until our objectives are achieved.

Russian diplomat compares Kiev regime to world’s worst terrorist cells

Maria Zakharova stressed Ukraine’s recent terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge was not an exception but a continuation of the policy the country has been following for decades

MOSCOW, October 11. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Tuesday compared Kiev’s latest actions to those of the most heinous terrorist organizations.

According to the Russian diplomat, Kiev has been receiving Western money, weapons, intel and political support for years. The Kiev regime has recently been receiving exactly the same from the West "for the lawless actions it committed in the manner of the worst terrorist cells," she emphasized.

Zakharova said Ukraine’s recent terrorist attack was not an exception but a continuation of the policy the country has been following for decades.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced Saturday’s attack on the Crimean Bridge as an act of terror and said that Ukraine’s special services were behind it.
