Interesting, what do you mean by new ones? the first episodes are still the ones recorded by monroe himself? do you mean the newer ones voiced by his daughter?

Monroe died on 17th March 1995. It is believed shortly after, the CIA neutered the Gateway Experience tapes to be ineffective. I bought the tapes on 31st December 1994 so I assume I have the pre-adulterated tapes. Some of them are dated 1981. When I received them, in January 1995, I started listening to them in sequence and during the 6th tape I had the vibrations and slipped out of body. It scared me so much that I never touched the tapes since that time.

Yeah. The same thing happened to me when I read Monroe's book "Journeys Out of the Body" and followed his exact instructions. I've had the vibrations countless times since, but I don't slip out or purposefully try to bring them on anymore.

They were altered to remove the OBE experience.

Mark, Chris.. this is a very good point on which to perhaps elaborate further.

It is true that just about anyone can go out of body, but not just anyone should, particularly as a notable feature through any portion of a lifetime. It takes a certain purity of mind, and due preparation. It is something we evolve our experience toward, not something to hit on a dime. - damage CAN be done, and by this I mean we can set ourselves back, rather than further ahead. The OBE comes naturally to our conscious state of attention once the readiness is present. And even then there is a certain shock factor to work through, in order for higher consciousness to see just how far an individual is ready to go. An unyielding curiosity at the phenomena is one sign that a person may be ready, so if meditation and what we call sleep states are not on their own producing Experiences beyond the 3D variety then binaural beats, brainwave entrainment may be a tool to help boost the frequency following response. But they are not meant for the general population. Even though most who try them unprepared will get little from them aside of a headache, there will be the occasional someone who breaks through. And, again, the fear generated from this can be more detrimental than good. It can take a long time to process a fear of this kind and magnitude.

So many of us, often unbeknownst to even ourself, perpetually live in the sympathetic nervous system ( fight - flight ). This is the first situation to address. YOGA ( and by this I mean real yoga ) addresses it thoroughly. Yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, samadhi. Translated loosely, the do's and don'ts, right posture, breath awareness/control, concentration/contemplation, meditation, pure being. The other yogas are also acceptable, notably karma yoga, selfless service. Without this background, the central nervous system, "your back body guard", will not let any experience beyond 3D through to your knowing. This is due to the perceivable detriment it would cause. It won't let anything through that could potentially harm you, or that you would do potential harm with.

There are governors, safeguards, on all that lay beyond 3D experience.

All of the basics are there to begin with such as the Energy Bar Tool, Log Rolling and Resonant Energy Balloon to get us started with separation from the physical body.

I had been trying to meditate for 20 years with no progress but after a week of The Gateway Experience I began to go out of body during meditation. A true dream state. Since then, I have modified the exercises a lot and do free energy work. All for free, mostly from a distance for anyone anytime.

My thread is just getting into Wave 3

Thank you for sharing a bit about your history. In your 20 years of trying to meditate what was happening? Do you say 'trying' because you were not reaching deep meditative states? I am just curious about your practice. Was it formal practice? was it daily, bi-weekly? regular or random? Were you able to get into a quiet mind? Very likely much more was happening than you may have realized if you were so easily able to surpass the 3D body via The Gateway Experience. How much time in do you have with The Monroe Institute? How many programs have you completed? How many times have you visited? Can you tell me where the Institute is focusing these days? I mean, is it pretty much the same as when Robert Monroe was still with us or has it changed? My OBEs came on their own following two decades of spiritual disciplines, but Robert Monroe was one of the first people I "found" when searching for what the heck was going on with me, lol. I adore his energy and appreciate the work he did while here, well beyond what I can say. Thank you for jumping into the conversation.

Does anyone have have any practical experience with all this they would like to share? - observation and insight into additional states based on your own practice and discrete experience would be welcome, and I image quite helpful to others passing through. My apology for not knowing you each well enough to know what your experiences are. Please share links to where you have written on this if there is not the time or inclination to begin again anew in this thread. I can familiarize myself.

Yes! Appologies for the distraction. I needed to listen to your whole video first, Thank You for the effort and detailed directions and explanations!

Altough it has not much use for me anymore, for I went a little bit diffrent through it.

I had an spontanious Obe about 10yrs ago and it freaked the s#€%& out of me...non of my beliefs, expiriences, even stuff I was reading or watching would indicate or approximatly translate what I have expirienced...so, havin' tried to distance my Self from it, the curiousity would prevail...the constant questions, what was happening, why is that and so on...

At some point I decided to search on the web, the closest I came up with were Neardeath Expiriences...yet, I certainly did not feel death or close to it...In my persisting search for 'answers', I came about a pdf bundle of Astral Projection and Lucid Dreaming, about 10 books or so....every night before sleep I would start to read one of those, and would discard it the moment it started to talk about vampires, demons, aliens and similar fear-based stuff...I just at that moment in time did not want to have anything to do with it, expecially for the lack of understanding what I got my Self into...

So going through the bundle of pdf's, which were in alphabetical order, already almost discouraged, I came to the bottom and read a book by William Buhlman - Advantures Beyond the Body...

After reading it, I felt quite encouraged and calm pursuing my curiousity and expirience...In no page did he mentioned anything of the sort, I read before, and writing from a 30yrs expirience, I thought, this must be it.

Yet, on the cautious side, I was thinking, If...what he writes is true, then there must be other people who have also that expirience having read it...

Reading through it, I became hooked when read Sirdipswitch's post's...It instantly awoke something dormant/familiar in me, hard to explain...yet I knew that I was certain beyond doubt to follow the pursue of mastering "that" )))))

So, I followed the directions given in the book, in my case, initially Visualisation and Affirmation and had some success, not long lasting at the beginning, yet successful they were...needed to get rid of some remaining doubts in the back of my mind, for I was starting to see that my life would gonna change and needed to be certain about it...

I would not know if something here can be of help, assistence...for it happened in my expirience very individually...I also do not meditate, never did, yet have my own means of balancing/focusing, putting my Self in the right state of mind, so to speak.

In my case...the motivation was key...that, when having put in order removed the blokages of getting out...Also I was a kiddo when I started to go OBE, I still Am))))))))

Casey and friends. My sister Doretta has been suffering and slowly dying from aids, and stage 5 kidney failure for many years.
She just keeps going !
But recently she told me she feels she is going to cross soon, and told me this story that happened top her the other day

everyday she goes and sits with friends about 4 pm for a drink outdoors at a favorite florida bar. She said all of a sudden everything went black. she still heard the voices of her friends as if muffled under wet blankets.
she was in a space totally black, no light and saw a white orb the size of a baseball in the upper left corner of her eyes, but could not focus on it. it would move around.

it all lasted for about 40 seconds and then she returned. no one noticed anything and she just sat there.
she recalled feeling good, and ok, not at all frightened.

what do you feel that was?

Hello, Doug, I am so sorry to hear of Doretta's suffering, yes we all step over in our own time, don't we? What you described is a simple ( and very beautiful ) shift of attention from the outer to the inner. Doretta made a conscious shift, but went no further than to what I call ground zero ( the void ) the gateway to ALL life and my most beloved of all 'places'. Yes it does seem your sister is readying herself, practicing going over. It is good, and also sad news I know.

Mr.White -- yes that does indeed qualify as actual discussion. I am fasting for a few days and moving s l o w e r with my external activities at present but will be to continue the dialogue as Inwardly able. Thank you so much for your post.

I dont know if this is a proper obe, but maybe related. Some years ago I found an online experiment that Dean Radin was running. He had a sensitive device that people could try to influence.

After doing it several times the computer had enough data to give me a score and I was placed as no. 11 of all the participants. That was a very good ranking in my opinion and I got very excited and said to myself "wow, I must keep on and try to hit top three" But after trying even harder my ranking fell to no 20. So I just quit after that, didnt want to ruin my score :D

I had no idea how to influence the device so I just envisioned myself being inside it in a tiny body. There I tried all kinds of ways to disturb the particles that were fired. This included blocking the path with metal sheets, throwing explosives etc. It seemed to work somehow

This is fascinating...after I wroter here, I went to bed and was woken up in the middle of the night by Spirit..."you have a visitor" this...did not happen for a very long time! Visitations yes, yet i would always know who visits me and where I am welcomed to visit...

Was instanfly out of body and had a presence in my space, unfamiliar to me..."why are you here? can't remember having invited you!" It was quite frightened by my approach and confused...it communicated back: "I do not know, I was just here"

I calmed down and scanned quiqly inward for possibilities, how this could have happened...remebered that I have shared publicly on a OBE thread...as I have realxed and felt that I was not threatened, the presence felt also reliefed. I could now percieve a female presence, very kind, warm, caring and it reminded me a bit of my Self, 10yrs ago when I strated to have OBE'S...

Now facing each other, without tensions, she pointed out that me carry's a "stuckness"...

I said, yes, indeed! I just showed her that part complitly...must say that, getting to know each other happens very fast and the exchange of "seeing" is simoultaniously shared, trusting one can say.

After she looked at, she asked me if I would be willing to engage in a Vision? I said yes...

I was sitting in a car, heavily armed, indestructable...to the left was a women, blond, tiny, like we were partners, togehther, boyfirend-girfriend, not true love yet rathe a very strong bond, based on pain...her pain...we were behind a car

Yet, woke up this morning and felt a bit worried about what I have shared in the last post, for it's intimacy and potentiality of misunderstanding or misinterpretation...this part seems to be gone now somehow!? ))))

Anyway, to not leave the entry above open ended...the stuckness baecame unstuck and it made me realize some choices I have made and some I didn't, altough the vision was dramatic, it was enough to understand and choose anew!

Which made me reflect today and brought about the thread here, I realized that it is about Obe's and Inducing the altered state, I realized it is about someone who would engage in such activities, which made me also realize that I may have said that it is already individualized for my Self, I remebered something, I have adapted and It became like second nature, yet maybe of assistence or help to anyone headed that journey of going Obe.

A while back I read a book by Serge Kahili King about the Huna Philosophy, called "Mastering the Hidden Self" in that book there was a way of explaining Self by Seperating it into 3 parts with an 4th addition...namely the
Low Self, Middle Self, High Self and the Core Self...
It pointed out that none of those parts are better or less, rather that they are diffrent parts with diffrent functions, I think a fruit was given as an example for the outer layer, the fruit-meat and the core as being part of the whole...

So,
Low-Self would represent the subconscious Self - It remembers

The middle self, the conscious Self - It immagines

The High Self the "Super-Conscious" - It inspires

The Core Self, the Spirit - It wills

With that in mind, while deciding to go obe, I musta have an intention which motivates and "activates" the middle self, I start to immagine, visualize...in my case it's always the kitchen))) than the lowSelf would remember the details of the kitchen and even reproduce how something would feel (table, fruits and so on)...now, hence those two working together, High Self may jump in and inspire, something particular to ones memory or expirience...all that combined with the core self (willing) have the great potential to produce results...

Now, in my case, I pointed out towards sirdipswitch's thread, for when I was out, my middle Self and Low Self according to this viewpoint, would combine the direction of "Going to High Self"...which at that point for me I could not draw from memory or expirience, it was engaging into the unkown and "believing" of it's possibilities, yet, the core-self(will) was on board and the harmonious working together produced results....

Aloha Casey, thank you for starting this thread as I feel like we are all just walking each other home. I began with Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book, Wherever You Go, There You Are in 1998. It had several exercises that I tried. Sometimes not making more than a few pages of progress per week really trying to let things sink in but to no avail. I tried a few times a week for a long time and gradually slowed to a few times per month. I couldn’t tame the monkey mind.

I found The Gateway files in 2017 and went through the Gateway Process in one week. All 7 CDs. My mother & girlfriend noticed a dramatic difference in my demeanor and I felt it too. My meditation without Gateway would take me into dream state. Each time I went deeper and gained more control.

Now, I hear the vibrato without headphones everyday and have even had the standing wave in my head countless times. I regularly use tools learned from The Gateway Process daily and it has brought me true peace. Though, I never went to the institute and don’t know where their focus is now but, I have been in contact with Robert’s daughter, Carol, I am now a Monroe Community Group leader out here in Hawai’i. Location doesn’t mean anything because we go to that altered state reaching whomever is there.

I have sat in and studied the Exploerers. They visit the space between lives in Focus 15 to Focus 27. I have been contacted many times by a few of my guides and they take me out of body. I actually feel them often and communicate with them daily. Feeling so alone most of my life, this has made me feel a lot safer in my wakeful state.

I need to go for now but I will come back to communicate more soon,
