Outspoken Palestinian academic and writer Refaat Al-Areer had written a poem in English eulogizing himself days before he was assassinated by a targeted Israeli airstrike last Thursday.

His poem has since been translated into many languages such as Japanese, Chinese, Hindi, and Swahili.

‘12 Days of Terror’: What Happened to Kholoud Al-Jarmi in Israeli Prison

Kholoud was taken to a military vehicle. She wept and pleaded for them to leave her with her children. Her youngest daughter was just 40 days old.

Kholoud will not let go of her infant daughter. The recent horror she experienced is beyond description.

Being deprived of her four children was the harshest thing that 30-year-old Kholoud Al-Jarmi experienced during her detention in Israeli prisons.

Kholoud gave birth by C-section to her daughter a few weeks before her arrest. But her vulnerable state was of no concern to her Israeli captors, who arrested her husband as well, leaving their children with no parent to care for them.

Kholoud is one of dozens of Palestinian female prisoners who were released in the recent prisoner exchange between Israel and the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas.

While she only spent two weeks in prison, she described what happened to her there as “a nightmare”.

    Just Holding My Children

On November 18, Israeli soldiers stormed the Balata refugee camp, in the city of Nablus. On that day, Kholoud was visiting her mother’s house with her husband and children.

Suddenly, they heard the sounds of stun grenades around the house. Kholoud rushed to hold her children and comfort them. She told her husband that they should stay where they were until the Israeli army left the camp.

Shortly thereafter, Israeli soldiers stormed her mother’s home vandalizing everything in sight, while yelling and cursing at the family.

Kholoud held her children and closed her eyes in fear. “They were like monsters, destroying everything in front of them, and all I could hear was the sound of screaming and the breaking of glass and furniture,” she told the Palestine Chronicle.

“My children kept crying, I tried to calm them down, but I was as terrified as they were.”

The Israeli officer ordered Kholoud’s husband to produce his identity card. He was then arrested, handcuffed in front of his family, and taken away.

Israeli soldiers remained in the house for nearly an hour. Kholoud’s family was paralyzed with fear.

Sometime later, the same officer returned and asked Kholoud to produce her ID card. He reviewed it and then arrested her as well. Kholoud was completely shocked. Her children were inconsolable.

    Fabrications

Kholoud was taken to a military vehicle. She wept and pleaded for them to leave her with her children. Her youngest daughter was just 40 days old.

“In the vehicle, soldiers started beating me. The wound from the C-section had not healed yet. When the soldiers were beating me, I felt a sharp burning in my belly,” she told the Palestine Chronicle.

The beating continued until they arrived at the Ariel settlement, approximately 15 kilometers from the city of Nablus. The soldiers strip searched Kholoud as she screamed.

It was in the Ariel settlement that the interrogation began. The crime she was charged with took her by complete surprise, “The investigators accused me of throwing a weapon from my mother’s house during the camp’s storming,” she said. “But I was with my children the whole time, they were terrified and I was holding them,” Kholoud told the Palestine Chronicle.

Kholoud endured severe torture during her interrogation. She was beaten with rifles; Israeli soldiers kicked her with their heavy boots, insulted her and spat on her.

Kholoud’s incision wound was giving her an incredible amount of pain. She asked the soldiers to call a doctor, but they would not listen.

“The pain was very strange, and it became clear that I had suffered uterine bleeding from the intensive beating, which was deliberately focused on my abdomen and back,” she told the Palestine Chronicle. “I almost fainted, many times, but my jailers did not care.”

    Pain and Starvation

Throughout her detention, Kholoud suffered from severe fatigue and continuous bleeding.

She was transferred to Damon Prison after her interrogation. Israeli authorities extended her detention to file an indictment against her.

The Israeli judge changed the charge from throwing a weapon out of the window into raising a weapon at Israeli soldiers.

When she denied any wrongdoing, the judge and the Israeli military prosecutor threatened to sentence her for an extended period of time.

“In prison, the situation was horrible. The rooms were packed, and there weren’t enough beds, blankets, or even clothes. Some of the prisoners shared their clothes with us.”

The food was never enough for the prisoners. Every three prisoners were given one egg to share, along with small portions of undercooked rice.

For Kholoud, however, food was not a problem. Her only concern was for her children. She could not forget them crying at the door and trying to follow her as the Israeli soldiers were taking her away.

“How could I eat when my children were far away? I didn’t even sleep due to the anxiety and the pain,” she said.

On November 30, Israeli prison guards came and called her name without telling her that she would be released as part of the prisoner exchange.

She thought that she was being transferred again, so she sadly said goodbye to the other prisoners that had been so kind to her.

Israeli guards shoved her and tied her hands tightly, then dragged her to another room before taking her to the Red Cross bus. Only then did she realize that she was being released. She cried, again, but this time for joy and relief.

“They were very difficult days. I cannot believe I’m out of prison. I was subjected to systematic terror and they were trying to pin a charge on me that was completely fabricated. I only wanted to return to my children.”

When Kholoud returned home, she learned that her husband had also been released the day before.

She embraced her children and promised them that she would never be away from them again.

Her infant daughter cried whenever Kholoud carried her. For four days, she did not recognize her mother.

Upon her return home, Kholoud discovered that the soldiers had also stormed her house destroying everything inside.

Kholoud’s family is slowly working on recovering from the ordeal. “My children are still struggling from that traumatic event. They keep asking me why I left them. I’m trying to make up for those terrible days, and I don’t know when we will regain our stability and sense of safety,” she said.

'Israel' violates prisoner swap deal conditions against Fadwa Hamadeh

According to the Palestinian Commission for Detainees and ex-Detainees Affairs, "Israel" is violating the terms of the prisoner exchange deal that was recently made according to the truce agreement with the Palestinian resistance, by pursuing the prisoner freed under the deal, Fadwa Hamadeh.

A one-week Qatari-Egyptian-mediated truce deal that ended on December 1 saw 105 captives, including 80 Israelis, released from Gaza by the Palestinian Resistance in exchange for 240 female and minor male Palestinian prisoners who were arbitrarily detained in Israeli occupation prisons.

The authority explained that a trial session for Hamadeh was held in absentia in the so-called “Haifa Magistrate’s Court,” adding that the judge summoned her to an upcoming session, with the condition that she “appear with her lawyer to pronounce a sentence against her.”

The judge claimed that she “committed violations during her years of captivity against the prison administration and its police, and therefore she must be held accountable for them,” without giving any consideration to her release as part of an official exchange deal.”

The commission declared the incident to be evidence that the Israeli courts are still circulating files of released Palestinian prisoners, and called on mediators like Egypt and Qatar to stand up to the occupation and pressure the occupation to abide by the terms of the truce.

It is noteworthy that Hamadeh, 35, is from the town of Sur Baher in occupied Al-Quds. She was imprisoned in 2017 and sentenced to 10 years after the occupation claimed that she intended to carry out a stabbing attack in the Bab al-Amud area, and she was subjected to harsh interrogation in the occupation prisons.

She was released as part of the prisoner exchange agreement in the recent truce between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation after 6 years of captivity that came with long periods of solitary confinement.

It is noteworthy that on Friday, Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, revealed that its Resistance fighters thwarted an Israeli attempt to free an Israeli occupation soldier who is being held captive in the Gaza Strip. In detail, the Brigades said its fighters discovered the special Israeli forces, confronted it, and wounded two of its members.

Israeli media reported that thousands of Israelis demonstrated on Saturday night in what has become known as the "Hostages Square" in "Tel Aviv", calling for a prisoner exchange deal with the Palestinian Resistance aimed at releasing around 140 Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip.

The protests extended across the Israeli entity to include the occupied city of Haifa, where settlers rallied and carried banners calling for the resignation of the government of Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"We hear the unnecessary sounds of war, and we see that everything happening is a waste of time," a spokesperson for the families of the Israeli captives said during the demonstration, as cited by Israeli media.

The Israeli occupation has repeatedly violated ceasefire agreements in late November, firing artillery into Gaza and flying warplanes over the Gaza Strip numerous times.

In call with Putin, Netanyahu criticizes Russia’s anti-Israel stance in world bodies: Israeli media

A few remarks minus the weaponry details:

Quote Speaking in a statement released on Sunday, the Qassam Brigades declared that their fighters had successfully destroyed forty-four military vehicles, either entirely or partially, in various battlefronts across the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours. Furthermore, they confirmed the elimination of forty Israeli occupation soldiers while dozens of others were injured during assaults on their positions and encampments.

The attacks involved the use of anti-fortification missiles, shells, anti-personnel canisters, and engagement from point-blank range. Targets included field command headquarters, military gatherings, and strategically rigged buildings, resulting in massive explosions. Mortars and short-range rockets also played a significant role in demolishing occupation military infrastructure.

Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for the Qassam Brigades, expressed his satisfaction with their performance and unity, stressing that thousands of fighters were awaiting their turn on the battlefield. He highlighted the successful targeting of the occupation forces in both old and new incursion axes.

These fierce battles and clashes have forced the occupation to acknowledge the growing power of the resistance on the ground. The enemy finds themselves surprised daily by the resistance’s unwavering determination and resourcefulness during the ongoing conflict.
Hezbollah went ahead with non-stop strikes on Israeli border posts...

    Unnamed:

Quote The Yemeni Armed Forces blocked the passage of a merchant vessel bound for the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories as it was sailing in the Red Sea, after declaring a decision to block the passage of all ships heading toward Israeli ports in support of the Gaza Strip.

Lebanon’s Arabic-language Al-Mayadeen television news network, citing a statement released by Yemen’s Defense Ministry, reported on Sunday that “a proper interaction was carried out with the ship, but it did not pay heed to our warnings.”

The statement added that the vessel was subsequently “blocked from passing through and was forced to turn back”.

    On the drawing board:

Quote In a meeting with Head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party Liu Jianchao in Tehran on Wednesday, Ahmadian said Iran and China can join hands to form a united global front against the Israeli atrocities in the besieged enclave.

“The Zionist regime’s war machine in Gaza has to be stopped through multifaceted international efforts,” he added.

The Chinese official, for his part, described Iran as a connecting bridge between East and West of the world, and said the country is a major component in China’s global transport project known as One Belt One Road.

He also appreciated Iran’s role in maintaining peace in the Western Asia region, adding that Beijing supports Tehran’s policies to guarantee sustainable security and stability in the region.

The senior diplomat said that Washington continues to play a negative role in many parts of the world by sticking to its interventionist policies, adding that Iran and China should work to confront US unilateralism.

China has adopted totally different policy from the US towards the Gaza war, calling for a ceasefire, humanitarian access to the besieged strip. Beijing has also stressed that a two-state solution to establish an independent Palestine is the “fundamental way out” of the conflict.

Moreover, days after the US shuttle diplomacy in West Asia which culminated in President Joe Biden’s historic wartime visit to Tel Aviv, China started its own diplomatic push to prevent a wider conflict in the region.

In late October, Zhai Jun, China’s special envoy to the Middle East, embarked on a tour of the region aimed at promoting peace – even though Beijing still refuses to condemn or even name the Palestinian group Hamas in any of its statements.

That is against U. S. policy. You have to condemn Hamas or they automatically veto whatever you say.

    This is the policy:

Quote ‘Israel’ used U.S.-supplied white phosphorus munitions in an October attack in southern Lebanon that injured at least nine civilians in what a rights group says should be investigated as a war crime, according to a Washington Post analysis of shell fragments found in a small village.

A journalist working for The Post found remnants of three 155-millimeter artillery rounds fired into Dheira, near the ‘border of Israel’, which incinerated at least four homes, residents said.

Lot production codes found on the shells match the nomenclature used by the U.S. military to categorize domestically produced munitions, which show they were made by ammunition depots in Louisiana and Arkansas in 1989 and 1992. The light green color and other markings — like “WP” printed on one of the shells — are consistent with white phosphorous rounds, according to arms experts.

Left: One of two remnants of white phosphorous smoke rounds found in Dheira. Their lot production codes begin with “PB-92,” which denotes production in Pine Bluff, Ark., in 1992. Right: A third remnant found in Dheira is printed with “THS-89,” which denotes production in 1989 by Thiokol Aerospace at a Louisiana plant. (William Christou for The Washington Post)

The same manufacturing codes also appear on white phosphorus shells lined up next to Israeli artillery by the city of Sderot, near the Gaza Strip, in an Oct. 9 photo.

“Emergency services told us to put something that was soaked in water on our faces, which helped a bit. I couldn’t see my finger in front of my face,” he said. “The whole village became white.”

White phosphorus ignites when in contact with oxygen and burns at temperatures up to 1,500 degrees, which can cause severe injuries.

The United States is not conducting real-time assessments of Israel’s adherence to the laws of war, Biden administration officials said.

A U.S. defense official said they were aware of reports about the attack, described in part by Amnesty International, which concluded the incident should be investigated as a war crime.

“White phosphorus fell onto several homes and ignited fires, incinerating furniture and stripping appliances to scorched metal. Remnants of the sticky, black chemical littered the ground 40 days after the attack and combusted when residents kicked at it.”

‘Israel’ has used the munition more than 60 times in Lebanon’s border areas in the past two months, according to data collected by ACLED, a group that monitors war zones. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Dec. 2 that Israel’s use of the munition has “killed civilians and produced irreversible damage to more than 5 million square meters of forests and farmland, in addition to damaging thousands of olive trees.”

Kissinger-esque, you go ahead and commit the crime, then maybe later get an investigation you kick out of court.

🇺🇸🇮🇱🇵🇸 Member of the Political Bureau in Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, Ali Abu Shaheen statement:

All matters relating to prisoner negotiations will occur only after a comprehensive ceasefire.

We deny the reports circulated by some "Israeli" media, and there are currently no contacts regarding prisoner negotiations.

The American administration is the one running the war, and the talk of humanitarian ceasefires is for the recovery of their prisoners and then the resumption of aggression.

There is currently no discussion regarding humanitarian ceasefires, and the position of the resistance is clear in rejecting any negotiations under fire.

Negotiating and proposing humanitarian ceasefires in exchange for the release of prisoners is not on the table.

Our unified stance among all factions of the Palestinian resistance is that the priority is to stop the aggression and the slaughter of the Palestinian people.

The resistance has adapted itself to the new scenarios of confrontation, and the element of shock from the side of the occupation has lost its effect.

The resistance cannot remain silent in Gaza, and the enemy will fail to achieve its objectives. We recognize the difficulty of the battle and this aggression, but victory will be achieved, even if the cost is high.

How do we do this kind of magic:

..an international movement to boycott companies based in Israel or that do business there. One boycott target, Starbucks, has suffered a $12 billion loss in value since early October.

Quote Continuing a monthslong trend, the single largest gold buyer was the People’s Bank of China, which bought 23 tons of gold in October, its 12th consecutive month of swelling its reserves. Turkiye was another major buyer, with its central bank buying up 19 tons of gold bullion. The other nations that purchased gold did so in modest amounts by comparison, just one or two tons each.

For years, governments have slowly retreated from investing in the US dollar, shifting their assets into other currencies, penning agreements to use local currencies instead of dollars for trade, or buying up stable liquid assets like gold - a trend labeled “de-dollarization” by observers.

I will admit I had to be explained what "politically correct" meant. When I heard the words, I took it literally to mean someone would go around and check like if Starbucks is a Zionist profiteering rig and just take care of it. That's what I mean by "government". I don't have to think about it. They just take care of it.

Because it does not work that way, the above are examples of what I meant.

But they better come up with another explanation:

"This recruiting crisis certainly did not appear overnight and cannot be repaired overnight," Army Maj. Gen. Johnny K. Davis, commanding general of the Army Recruiting Command, told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Quote "We've seen a steady decline in the military even being an option for our youth as they contemplate the future, with propensity dropping from 13% four years ago to 10%."

Amrhein noted that just 12% of US youth have a parent who served in the military, compared to 40% in 1995, telling lawmakers the “youth market” of potential recruits had "transitioned from being disconnected with the military to mostly disinterested with it.”

“Iraq, Afghanistan, the growth of drone warfare, and the general decay of the US military and its major older weapons systems – all of these things make serving in the military viewed more as a chore than an opportunity. Our target recruits do not remember 9/11.”

"Reconnecting with our youth and breaking down unnecessary barriers to serve in our Air Force and Space Force is our priority over the next several years,” Amrhein said.

...the death rate for younger Americans has shifted “mainly due to drug overdose and suicide. There just are not enough ‘extra’ people motivated to volunteer. Obviously, employment rates are a factor, and people will serve the military if they cannot find any work, but our social welfare evolution in the US tends to buffer the need and desire for a military job.”

“Lastly, the military requires physical activity, taking orders, operating on a strict schedule, and going places that may not be fun. These factors, along with the idea of serving your country, are not as attractive to young people inundated with entertainment and fun,” she added.

It is, however, for the "company" FOG in apparently transiting from Ukraine to Israel.

And in other ways there is a bit of a similar shift:

Quote DUBAI, December 11. /TASS/. Lebanon-based Shiite organization Hezbollah and Gaza-based radical Palestinian movement Hamas can easily procure whatever weapons they need in Ukraine via illicit purchases, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said.

"You see, in the past - I wish to be absolutely frank with you - we used to provide all kinds of support to Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad while taking into account [both] international law and the conditions of confronting the occupier (implying Israel - TASS)," Abdollahian said at the Doha Forum, when answering a question about Tehran's support for these organizations.

"If you ask me where they can obtain weapons, then one of the black markets where they can get them is Ukraine. Very easily, without much effort they can get whatever [they need] in Ukraine," the top diplomat said. According to him, Hezbollah and Hamas currently "can produce the necessary weapons" on their own.

I am thinking "weapons" probably means ammunition and missiles, in terms of producing things.

John McCain might have been able to accurately say to some degree "Iran is supporting Hamas", but in several respects they don't need to. These paramilitaries don't have air forces or anything "big" of Iran's own, so there is not really another step to take.

As to the contribution via Ukraine, I am not sure where to go with that. Israel could perhaps recover one of their own rifles they had sent there. Would they complain about it? If the Americans found American stuff it would be an excuse to kill a third party. Is FOG a "safari" player? I can see that coming in any time. Another country of any kind to actually lift a finger, I am not so sure. No doubt there are multiple militaries that would be motivated. They would not have the American deficiency recruiting problem. But they don't get to make the choice.

"Miko Peled is an author, writer, speaker, and human rights activist living in the United States. He is considered by many to be one of the clearest voices calling for justice in Palestine, support of the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) and the creation of a single democracy with equal rights in all of historic Palestine. Driven by a personal family tragedy to explore Palestine, its people and their narrative, Miko’s first book is about his life transformation, titled “The General’s Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine.” This autobiographical work taking the reader through the life of Peled’s family since his grandparents immigrated to Palestine in the early 20th century, describing their work and their life in detail. Miko joins us on the show!"

Yes, this is very strong and clear. I'd highly recommend this (just 25 mins) for anyone who might still be confused, or who believes the Israeli-controlled western media narrative, about what's really happening and what the history really is.

    THE BALFOUR DECLARATION/
Not sure this was posted but an interesting video of Rothchild explaining the Balfour decleration , giving way to the creation of Israel in the Palestinian region.

If one listens and see the letter, it specifically states that no infringement shall be made on the freedom of the non Jewish people in the area

amazing how a few people got together and decided all this.
