Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said the goal of "Israel's" war on Gaza to "eliminate" the Palestinian Resistance will not and cannot be achieved, stressing that the war is Netanyahu's own war.

In an op-ed in Haaretz titled "Israel's Choice: Cease-fire Now or Dead Hostages Later," Olmert said that "the destruction of Ha-ma-s will not be achieved."

The former PM stated that "Israel" is facing "the choice between a cease-fire as part of a deal that may bring home the hostages in the hope that most of them are alive, and a cease-fire with no deal, no hostages, no apparent achievement, with a total loss of the remnants of international public support" for "Israel".

3,000 Israeli soldiers have become permanently disabled: Israeli media

Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 revealed on Friday that 3,000 Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) soldiers who sustained injuries as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza have been classified among those with "permanent disabilities in the army."

According to the news broadcaster, the number of IOF soldiers wounded since October 7 has reached 5,000 as of December 9.

The channel added that the Israeli Department for Rehabilitation reportedly receives 60 new wounded IOF soldiers daily from security and reserve forces, excluding regular army personnel.

Over 2,000 soldiers, classified as disabled and accommodated by the Israeli Ministry of Security, along with 1,000 from the regular forces, are currently being treated by the Israeli military.

The head of the Rehabilitation Department in the Israeli Ministry of Security Limor Luria disclosed that 58% of the wounded IOF soldiers suffered injuries in their hands and legs, including some undergoing amputations, while 12% suffered injuries to their internal organs such as the spleen and kidneys, in addition to injuries in the head and eyes.

These figures, acknowledged by Israeli media reports, come at a time when the Israeli leadership is attempting to conceal the true human losses within its forces amid ongoing confrontations with the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip.

On a related note, Israeli activists commented on images of the Prime Minister with Israeli wounded, stating, "When you sent soldiers to Gaza, they had two legs, and today you take a photo with them with one leg."

Some injured servicemembers reportedly refused a visit from Netanyahu, Israeli news broadcaster Channel 13 reported.

    https://english.almayadeen.net/news/...to-withdraw--r

'Israel' unable to eliminate Hamas, will have to withdraw: Reports

The Israeli occupation forces may have to leave the Gaza Strip before their chief military goal, the complete elimination of the Hamas Resistance movement is achieved, the Israeli Ynet website said.

Israeli journalist and political and military affairs analyst Ronen Bergman wrote that he spoke with a senior government official on the condition of anonymity, with the latter going on a rant about the Israeli occupation's invasion of the Gaza Strip.

The official said he feels nauseous and disgusted after every talk he has with several officials from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, namely due to the instructions he receives regarding the ongoing invasion, whose goals the official said were the "destruction of the infrastructure, capabilities, and rule of Hamas", as well as the release of all the captives.

The invasion, the official said, was launched in a bid to pressure Hamas' leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya al-Sinwar, to reach a prisoner swap deal and release the captives.

Reportedly, despite the many setbacks and failures, Israeli officials insist that the ground invasion should continue "both to achieve the first goal, the dismantling of the [Resistance] organizations, and also the second: to put enough pressure on al-Sinwar for him to capitulate and agree to a deal that Israel can accept."

The Israeli journalist argued that this is reminiscent of the situation before the 2006 war on Lebanon, wherein they had claimed in the days before the aggression that they had enough firepower to completely disable and destroy Hezbollah's capabilities to attack Israeli targets.

The Israelis claimed that Hezbollah only had a few Katyushas and could not get to the Israeli occupation forces. In reality, he said, it turned out that there were Katyushas and much, much more.

"It is not about hindsight or a conclusion that one could only reach after the fact," he said, saying the media warned ahead of the invasion of Gaza against misleading the Israelis about the ease of conducting the land aggression.

He stressed that whoever planned for the Israeli occupation to maintain a presence in Gaza lacked intellect and general information about such events that had taken place previously either with the Israeli occupation or elsewhere around the world.

According to Bergman, the world will not allow the Israeli occupation to stay in Gaza; the international pressure, he said, accompanied by the number of soldiers killed in action "from a faltering army" at the hands of the Resistance fighters who managed to regroup "will oblige the Israeli forces to withdraw much, much earlier."

The military affairs expert did not at all shy away from saying that the Israeli occupation forces were likely to end their first round of armed combat without achieving the first goal of their aggression on Gaza.

He said the IOF would likely withdraw without completely destroying the Palestinian Resistance's rocket capabilities and significantly damaging its tunnel network.

Bergman noted that it had been clear since the beginning that the Israeli occupation forces would not be able to return their captives through the force of arms.

The Israeli occupation was senselessly bombing Gaza for nine days before Netanyahu's cabinet, and under immense public pressure, added the matter of bringing back the captives to the goals of the aggression.

Israeli officials have been for months saying that a ground operation would help in the effort of taking back the captives. However, "the experience from weeks of fighting proves that the ground maneuver serving as an accelerator for the release of the captives [...] was not quite accurate."

He also touched on how many Israeli captives, upon their return, censured the Israeli government for how the indiscriminate bombardment endangered their lives.

The analyst claimed that al-Sinwar was expected to "fold" during the fighting in Khan Yunis, "when the sword was on his neck", and agree to terms he previously rejected. However, the complete opposite happened with the Israeli occupation forces exhausting their invasion when they were still far from the area.

"Israel folded, abandoned the original outline, and is ready for a completely different deal, perhaps like the one it rightfully refused [previously]," he added, about a prisoner exchange deal propped up by Hamas earlier.

In the conclusion, Bergman underlined that while the Israeli occupation managed to hurt the Hamas Resistance movement, it is still very far from eliminating it.

Some, he says, believe that the Israeli occupation may suddenly be interested in reaching a deal because its aggression might have to stop within two weeks due to pressure from the United States.

"Even the hawkish linemen in the security establishment should not oppose the deal; quite the contrary: a deal would be an optimistic end act to the war, much more pleasant than if the Americans simply told Israel to stop and withdraw," he maintained.

Upon asking the senior Israeli official what the game plan was now, he said that the terrible blow dealt by the Resistance on October 7 created a feeling of a need for revenge to the magnitude of what happened.

The shock generated by the Resistance and the terrible need for revenge among the Israeli officials made them feel like they did not need to plan ahead and that this was something they were inoculated against.

The Israeli occupation, the official said, only has two choices at this point, and while he did not go into what they are exactly, he said they were "cruel" and "devilish".

    Let's see.

    Iraqis are shooting the Mediterranean.

This isn't 1980s Hamas with a few Katys:

The new barrage fired from Gaza towards Tel Aviv is the heaviest since the start of the war

The ground battle cannot prevail, and Golani 13 is gone, and multitudes of the invaders are amputees. But America won't allow the word "occupation" in a draft that only has to do with aid, no ceasefire, which is moot, because you already know the terms.

This is not even for Zion, it is for Netanyahu, personally...presumably meaning the few remaining clingers-on such as the would-be nouveaux riches.

    Protection fades:

Quote Spain has vetoed the European participation in the US operation to ensure freedom of navigation and protection of ships in the Red Sea, the El Confidencial newspaper reported.

According to the newspaper, Madrid initially wanted the entire community to participate in the mission. During an emergency meeting on December 20, the EU's Political and Security Committee unanimously approved the community’s participation in the initiative by expanding Operation Atalanta.

However, according to the newspaper, on December 21 Madrid changed its position and vetoed the decision at the meeting of the working group of EU advisers on international relations. European diplomatic sources told the newspaper that the Spanish government's "change of position" had not been explained to its partners.

    Who cares...this could be important:

Quote US oil stockpiles are at their 40-year lows and the Houthi Red Sea blockage can make matters much worse for Washington, Maram Susli, better known as blogger Syrian Girl, told Sputnik's New Rules podcast.

"It's interesting to see the United States put itself in harm's way in this way and try to launch a war already, because, you know, it's quite blatant that they're doing this for Israel and not for the United States," Susli said. "And it's going to open up their ranks in Syria and Iraq to even more massive attacks. They're basically sitting ducks in the Middle East right now."

"It only takes for the oil to stop flowing to Europe and the US for the whole war machine to grind to a halt," said Susli. "The reason why the US oil reserves are down to such a level is because they've been forced to supply Europe with a lot of energy because they have blocked the Russians from being able to do so. So, this is the situation they're faced in. I think if other countries around the world are looking at the state that the United States is in, and if they start this offensive against Yemen, I wonder what will happen if there's a third conflict, for example, that could happen in which China invades Taiwan or anything in the east. The United States, with all its bravado, says, 'Yes, we can take on all of these wars at the same time.' But I don't think that that's true. I think that this is false bravado."

    This is better:

We don't get much by way of damage reports from Eilat or Tel Aviv, so, just out of curiosity about the latest target--Karish was in a border dispute and placed in certain hands for a song:

...the two companies sold Karish and the adjacent Tanin gas field to the Greek oil company Energean in 2016 for $150 million.

It is run by this drill ship--hit it with much of anything, and Europe's natural gas is gone:

    They like to nitpick:

As Qana extends southward across a border known as Line 23, Israel will be entitled to a share of royalties through a side agreement with the operator, the French company Total.

Thanks to the "US-brokered deal", Lebanon can pay Israel for basically nothing. Notice how all possible boundary lines slope upwards? Why would that be??

$150 M for two (2) gas fields is basically giving them away for free.

I would like to know if it is on fire, or, what will it take to make it that way. You'd think HZB would have a better shot at it. That's not a few shacks in a desert, every part of that thing is vital and it is not made to take abuse.

Sounds like the future of Israeli offshore drilling: a death warrant.

    Maybe it will be abandoned.

Then make like a Ukrainian and run out of Israel forever.

That's more or less what the shipping companies did, and oil people are no braver. No way I'd live on some stationary floating object over a potential inferno while a missile could come in at any moment. Natural gas burns in water. No way to stop it. You might stop the missile with a flotilla of destroyers and tripling the price. Otherwise there is not much hope.

🚨PRCS views with great concern the targeting by the occupation artillery of the maternity ward in Nasser Medical Complex in #KhanYounis, leading to several casualties.

⚠️This violation is a serious indication of targeting hospitals and medical centers that enjoy protection and immunity according to international humanitarian law. We call on international community to provide full protection for medical teams and hospitals.

This is the young girl that Max Blumenthal was referring to on the Judge Napolitano show.

    Here is the story,

Thank you so much for this post
. I was going to go back to transcribe exactly what Max Blumenthal said, but you kindly spared me the task.

I wasn't looking forward to doing that. The terrible story, which I'd been unaware of, hit me as hard as anything else which I'd heard all year. I had some trouble getting to sleep as I could not get this out of my mind. That almost never happens to me.

Here's the entire video, which is as strong a report about the Gaza situations one is likely to hear from anyone. Max recounts what happened to Dounia Abu Mohsen at 21:34. Napolitano gasped when he heard the story.

Thank you too for bringing attention to this..stay strong is all that comes to me at the moment as comfort offering

Complete collapse of Operation Prosperity Guardian, after France, now Spain and Italy withdrew from this US-led naval alliance against the Houthis.

This is a major blow to global posture of USA and the US must now confront the Yemenis with mighty Bahrain and the Seychelles.

🇾🇪❗️Reminder: I still see people from the Resistance circle use the term “Houthi” which is wrong. The correct term is ‘AnsarAllah’ as stated by the leader of the group.

One of the main strategies used by the main stream media to tarnish the image of the Islamic Resistance is to label the wars waged in Islamic countries, like Yemen as “racial” or “religious”. By specifically emphasizing "The Houthis," they seek to confine and falsely attribute the prevailing sentiment of the majority of Yemeni people to a confined faction.
