I am building a decorative wooden box for the urn for my wife's cat, Max.

The fabric stores are stubbornly closed. I have only a little bit of silk on hand. I use it to wrap my Tarot cards in. I haven't used them in a very long time. Years, decades even.

So, before I put the cards away, sans silk wrapping, I cut and drew one card...just for fun.

Rollerball:

This is a badass tune. A recent collaboration between Liam Gallagher of Oasis and John Squire of Stone Roses. It's very Beatlesque...like some combination of "Rain" and "Tomorrow Never Knows", with frequent rolling drums reminiscent of Ringo Starr.

Liam's voice is strong, and the music is lush and layered. There's some echo effect in there, making Liam sound like the Dalai Lama shouting from the mountaintops.

I'm poor at describing music. But suffice to say, it's just a cool f'in song man. I've just discovered it, here n now. What a revelation:

I finished Max's epitaph last night. It was hard to put everything Val wanted in one little poem...

Night, Night, Max

Max, my beautiful baby boy,
You brought me so much love and joy.
Though your death nears tears me apart,
You'll live forever in my heart.
My dreams recall what life now lacks,
For now it must be night, night, Max.


Does that sound okay? Made Val cry, so I guess it will do.
Now I will get my niece to make a stencil of this poem so I can stick it on the box I made.

That's really beautiful Ernie, I do hope you and Val are doing ok, please pass on our love to Val too knowing how such a loss takes time to come to terms with. In your poem "For now it must be night, night, Max." the meaning is clear that you will be together again on the same "plane of existance" .

I feel better, motivated, going in for a blood test tomorrow hopefully it backs this up. Sleep study is done and the numbers are horrible so my followup should be effective.. weird that you have to think of all this crap when your older....

However, I feel great. Been a while.

And congratulations on keeping two complicated projects alive, a) the forum,
and b) Mara, with her miraculous second sight vision.

Last 4 days have been absolutely brutal.

Surely I had the flu. Hot/cold fluctuations, sweating/shivering, fever, body aches. Ugh..awful. Even my eyeballs hurt!

The flu symptoms have mostly gone now, but lucky for me it's all been replaced by strep throat. And I'll tell ya, I'd take the flu over strep throat any day of the week. Forget swallowing, it's hard to talk even with this strep nonsense. It's murder.

I've thrown the kitchen sink at it. Used so much elderberry my teeth turned purple. Garlic too. Oregano. Didn't make a dent.

Finally I discovered a pretty easy and cheap way to get a prescription written for omoxicillin online. Picked it up this morning from Walgreens, and already feel better after just one dose.

There's a lesson in there for sure. Sometimes the drug is the appropriate choice.
