Press Release Regarding the International Submarine Cables Incident in the Red Sea

❗️The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology denies the accuracy of the information circulated by media outlets affiliated with the Zionist enemy and subsequently by other media outlets and social media platforms regarding the alleged reasons for the recent incident involving a number of international submarine cables in the Red Sea on the past Saturday.

The Ministry confirms the commitment of the Yemeni government in Sana'a to the general position of the Republic of Yemen on submarine cables, as stated in the recent address by the Leader, in addition to its previous statements, reaffirming its commitment to safeguard all communication cables and their services from any risks. It also emphasizes its commitment to providing the necessary facilitation for their repair and maintenance, subject to obtaining the required permits from the Maritime Affairs Authority in Sana'a.

The Ministry notes that the decision of Yemen to prohibit the passage of Israeli ships does not apply to ships operated by international companies licensed to carry out maritime activities for cables in Yemeni waters.

The Yemeni Communications further emphasizes its pivotal role in the continuity, construction, and development of the international and regional communication networks provided by submarine cables within Yemeni territorial waters, as well as its efforts to facilitate the passage and implementation of submarine cable projects through Yemeni territorial waters, including projects in which the Republic of Yemen has participated through the Yemen International Telecommunications Company (TeleYemen).

Would stray dogs care if they are IDF or Hamas? They're wild dogs. Muslim countries are not known for loving dogs like the west does. They can use them as guard dogs, but not as pets. This doesn't really speak about the IDF or Israel, it speaks about the attitude of Palestine towards dogs.

Your comment doesn’t make sense with regards to wild dogs don’t differentiate who they attack.

It has nothing to do with how Palestinians treat dogs.

It does have to do with the lack of food and starvation not only affecting the people but animals too.

Palestinians in Gaza are facing starvation from lack of humanitarian aid and constant raids annd bombing, and that includes starvation of animals in the area as well. So yes it is relevant news to this thread.

The Palestinian Hamas movement has received a draft ceasefire proposal in the Gaza Strip that includes a 40-day pause in all military operations and a 10-to-1 exchange of Palestinian prisoners for Israeli hostages, an unnamed source familiar with the talks told Reuters.

Under the proposal resulting from talks in Paris, hospitals and bakeries in Gaza would be renovated, 500 trucks carrying aid would enter the enclave every day and thousands of tents and caravans would be brought in to house displaced people, the source said.

According to the source, Hamas is to release 40 Israeli hostages, including women under 19, sick and over 50, while the Israelis will release about 400 Palestinian prisoners who will not be rearrested.

Lebanon delays response to western-drafted ‘de-escalation’ proposal
The proposal demands no concessions from Israel, which has illegally occupied Lebanese land for decades

Lebanon has delayed its official response to a western proposal for de-escalating the country's southern front against Israel.

The proposal was brought forth earlier in February by French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné. Beirut had requested that it be written out in an official document.

Informed sources cited by Lebanon's Al-Akhbar newspaper said that the Lebanese government delayed its response to the proposal because the paper "did not respect diplomatic norms, as it does not have the logo of the French Foreign Ministry or the French Embassy in Beirut."

Senior White House Adviser Amos Hochstein discussed a new proposal for de-escalation in south Lebanon with Israeli officials at the start of this month.

Less than a week later, France presented Lebanon with a written proposal to end the fighting in the south, including many of the same points discussed between Hochstein and Israeli officials.

The leading demand of the western initiative is a withdrawal of Hezbollah from the border region. It also calls for a border demarcation agreement between Lebanon and Israel, aimed at resolving the dispute over 13 border points from which Israel was supposed to withdraw in 2006. The 13 points are located on Israeli-occupied Lebanese land.

Additionally, the proposal calls for Israel to commit to limited withdrawals of some reservist units in the border area.

"We discussed responding to the French proposal, and we prepare the message we agreed upon, and the points we will address, and the response will be with the French next week," Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib stated.

He added that Lebanon will not accept anything less than a full implementation of UN Resolution 1701, the resolution drafted to end the 2006 war between Hezbollah and Israel. The resolution calls for Hezbollah to withdraw behind the Litani River.

Israel never properly implemented the agreement itself, continuing to encroach on Lebanese territory in the years that followed the 2006 war.

The US–French proposal to Lebanon does not impose any concessions on Israel, which for decades has been illegally occupying Lebanese territory.

"Paris is not in a position to play a constructive role. The French position, since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, has been in line with Israeli interests. The French proposal seems as though it was drafted in Tel Aviv," sources told Al-Akhbar on 27 February.

Bou Habib rejected this proposal earlier in February and said Lebanon would not accept "partial solutions."

This is entirely unlikely to have happened, and more likely to be an attempt at finger-pointing and blame.

We are talking about people that are proud to brag about shots that miss.

In this case the accusation was dismissed by a single sentence that I cannot find again. They also don't go into lengthy debates about wild accusations. Actually the comparison was to Nordstream--where is the motive? Is it not more likely that American divers do these things and say "he did it"?

Houthis Refute Claims They’ve Sabotaged Underwater Cables in Red Sea

Israeli media reported on Monday that the Yemeni militia had targeted “four submarine communication cables” in the area between Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Djibouti.

The Houthis' Telecommunications Ministry has denied reports by “Zionist-linked media” claiming that they have sabotaged major underwater telecommunications cables connection, Europe, Africa and Asia.

The Ministry pointed to recent statements by Houthi movement leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi committing the militia to keeping underwater cables and its relevant services “away from any possible risks,” and said the militia’s campaign “to ban the passage of Israeli ships” through Red Sea waters “does not pertain [to] the other international ships which have been licensed to execute submarine works within the Yemeni territorial waters.”

Houthi Politburo member Khuzam al-Assad told Sputnik that the militia undertook “no actions…aimed at damaging internet cables, and we have repeatedly confirmed this.”

Al-Assad said the claims of Houthi attacks on the cables were insinuations being pushed by Tel Aviv, Washington and London to try to turn global public opinion against the Houthis instead of “stopping the crimes of genocide committed by the Israeli Army with the support of the United States and the West against Gaza residents.”

Western reporting on possible Houthi operations to sabotage underwater internet cables began to surface in January, with the BBC running a story in early February saying the Houthis “almost certainly would” target the cables “if they could,” while admitting that “the fiber cables, which carry 17% of the world’s internet traffic, lie on the seabed mostly hundreds of meters below the surface – well below the reach of divers.” Only a handful of countries, including the US and Russia, have the capability to cut sabotage this infrastructure using deep sea submersibles, the outlet said.
