Israel to get more ‘aggressive’ with Russia – MP
West Jerusalem will ramp up its Ukraine aid to retaliate for Moscow’s alleged backing of Hamas, Amir Weitmann has claimed

An Israeli lawmaker has suggested that his government will take a harder line against Russia by boosting its support for Ukraine because it sees Moscow as somehow involved in the Hamas war against West Jerusalem.

“Israel will take a more aggressive stance against Russia,” MP Amir Weitmann told US media outlet Business Insider in an article published on Saturday. He added that amid its current battle with Hamas, his government doesn’t have munitions to spare, but if the war in Gaza ends before the conflict in Ukraine, “Israeli weapons would find their way” to Kiev.

Weitmann made his comments in response to plans by Israel – revealed on Wednesday at the UN – to provide an early warning system to help Kiev counter Russian airstrikes and drone attacks. The announcement by Gilad Erdan, Israel’s permanent representative to the UN, did not “come out of the blue,” the lawmaker said.

“Russia is heavily involved in what is happening in Israel,” Weitmann claimed, referring to the war with Hamas, which was triggered by surprise raids on southern Israeli villages on October 7. He offered no details on Moscow’s supposed role in the war and said it was not clear “at what level” Russia was involved.

Weitmann, who heads the libertarian faction of Israel’s ruling Likud Party, was less restrained during an RT interview in October. “Russia is supporting Nazi people who want to commit genocide on us, and Russia will pay the price,” he said. The MP added, “We will make sure that Ukraine wins. We will make sure that you pay the price for what you have done.”

Business Insider said Israel may have already “torched its relationship with Russia” by pledging to supply an early warning system to Ukraine. The system is similar to Israel’s Tzeva Adom radar, which quickly detects rocket launches and broadcasts alerts to endangered areas so civilians can take shelter.

After two years of walking a diplomatic “tightrope” over the Ukraine crisis, sending only humanitarian supplies to avoid provoking Russia, the decision to provide Kiev a radar system “signals a major about-turn in Israeli foreign policy,” Business Insider said. Israel will likely send “specialist soldiers” to help Ukrainians set up the system, the outlet noted.

Speaking at the UN on Wednesday, Erdan referred to the Ukrainians as “allies” and “friends in need.” He claimed that Israel has stood in “solidarity” with Ukraine since the conflict escalated in February 2022. “This is the moral thing to do, especially as a country that knows exactly how it feels to be aggressively invaded.”

In an imaginary Hollywood movie, a giant 1 megaton nuke was smuggled into Tel Aviv and Israel was erased from the map. (Watch The Sum of All Fears, a VERY good Tom Clancy movie.)

Israel's AI-controlled Dead Man's Handle, exercising the Samson Option, fired the entirety of its own nuclear missile arsenal at Iran. But advanced Russian S-550 air defenses shot them all down.

No-one took responsibility, no-one would ever knew who actually did it, and no country was willing to take the risk of making an assumption and retaliating against a possibly innocent country.

Many, in an equally imaginary audience, stood and and cheered at the end.

I just watched the "The Sum of All Fears" and it's very suspenseful; but definitely needs subtitles.
    A small atomic bomb was detonated in Baltimore at a football game;
plutonium signature was from a TVA reactor. Will World War III be averted?

Bill, I googled a bit to try to find the title of the movie you described but can't find it...

    • Jon Stewart Says Israel & Ham@s Are Equally Bad:

Jon Stewart is using his return to the Daily Show host’s chair to do everything in his power to get back into the good graces of the establishment. Most recently he gave Hamas and Israel the “both sides” treatment, implying that the two warring factions are equally at fault for the lack of progress toward peace.

Jimmy and Due Dissidence hosts Russell Dobular and Keaton Weiss discuss Stewart’s blithe dismissal of Israel’s policy of collective punishment, imposing starvation, genocide and immiseration on the people of Gaza.

"Israel's recent local elections have marked a significant rightward shift, with far-right parties like Ben Gavir's Israeli Supremacy Party gaining ground. This has reshaped the political landscape, casting traditional peace-oriented parties to the sidelines. The episode explores the influence of Israeli youth, particularly those with military experience, on this political transformation. The conversation also examines the internal dynamics of Netanyahu's coalition government and the implications of Benny Gantz's visit to the US for US-Israeli diplomacy."

Lightbulb Re: Israel vs Palestine/Lebanon/Iran/Yemen/Syria: a New Middle East War

Call me unrealistic, call me naïve: I dream that Palestinians can rebuild their community with sustainable technologies on land that they securely call their own. First, may every Palestinian have nutrient dense food and clean water, immediately and every day. May your clinics have sufficient supplies, physicians and nurses. May your children become healers.

May you generate your own energy, access your own water and grow your own nutrient-dense food. Your communications, transportation and banking systems will not depend on Israel’s leaders, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg or international supply chains. Palestinians will control these systems, and they’ll be biodegradable. They will not be toxic or emit electromagnetic radiation.

May the late Jerry Mander’s eight attitudes toward technology support your designs.

May forums with Palestinian homemakers, engineers, architects, construction workers and physicians who welcome questions and observations guide what you create. May the world watch in awe as you build a sustainable society.
    • ENERGY
Avoid large-scale generation (and distribution) powered by fossil fuels, solar PVs or industrial wind turbines. Avoid large-scale battery storage. Go for small systems that keep power and distribution local.

If you electrify homes by solar energy, keep to low-voltage direct current (LVDC) with a 48-volt battery. With direct current, you don’t need inverters to alternating current (AC)—and that saves energy. Use DC appliances commonly used by boats and motor homes.

Solar photo voltaics (PVs) are not perfect. Beware of their drawbacks.

May every household have a biodigester. A biodigester turns kitchen scraps and human or animal manure into liquid fertilizer and methane gas. 20 million Chinese families (and some American schools) use this waste-generated methane for cooking fuel and/or to power generators. One day of one household’s waste can generate enough methane to cook for two hours.

See How to make biogas at home with a biogas digester, Mother Earth News; Building a Biodigester with T.H. Culhane, and Food waste audit at the University of Florida BioEnergy Summer School 2007.

Biodigesters work for households and school cafeterias. For industrial applications, I don’t know of an ecologically-sound energy system.
    • FOOD
May every household have at least two insulated raised garden beds with soil that’s 40% compost and 60% amendments (coconut coir, perlite, pumice, rice hulls, expanded shale, humus, worm castings, biochar, feather meal, fishbone meal, blood meal, alfalfa meal, oyster shell, metamorphosed evaporite, flax seed meal, cotton seed meal, dried molasses, kelp meal, azomite, potassium sulfate, limestone, yucca extract, and mycorrhizae). In winter, water condenses within the tents. The garden needs water only once every two weeks.

    Consider geothermal-powered greenhouses.

May the midwives and herbalists among you grow herbs for your community—and make them into tinctures and salves.

May teenagers build solar ovens. May they learn to cook grains, beans, chicken and bread in them. Check out solar cookers & greenhouses in Gaza. Check out Solar Cookers International.
    • TELECOMMUNICATIONS
Go for wired telecom infrastructure to every household. Go for infrastructure that you control—not Pelephone, not Cellcom, not Israel’s prime minister, not Elon Musk (who controls lots of satellites). You cannot localize mobile, wireless systems. I know, I know—people love their smartphones. But if you want control of your communications, use copper wires or fiber optics. Wired systems are much simpler than mobile systems: you can keep them local.

Manufacturing mobile devices and operating access networks and data storage centers demand multiple extractions, guzzle energy, guzzle water and generate toxic waste.
Mobile devices and cellular antennas generate electromagnetic radiation that harms public health and wildlife. Mobile devices are vulnerable to hacking.

Mobile devices are addictive. Children are especially vulnerable to behavioral problems from too much screen-time. (Instead of social media, may they build insulated raised beds and solar ovens. May they plant gardens.)
    • TRANSPORTATION
Focus on bicycles powered by human muscle. Nothing electric—because manufacturing e-vehicles requires extractions and smelting and water. Charging EVs demands outrageous amounts of power and overheats nearby transformers. Plus, EVs generate hazardous waste. They don’t biodegrade, and they’re fire hazards.
    • STORIES
May you have book and tool-lending libraries. May the world learn Palestinian history. I’ve learned from documentaries includeng: 1948: Creation and Catastrophe: A Documentary about the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.

Tantura: about one alleged massacre (of 300-400) committed in 1948 in one Palestinian village—and the Jewish researcher who wrote about it. “If you love Israel,” filmmaker Alon Schwartz said in 2022, “hold it accountable.”

Palestine 1920: The Other Side of the Palestinian Story shows that a century ago, Palestine was a thriving economic and cultural center.

The Long Way Home tells the story of Holocaust survivors’ efforts, from 1945-1948, to make a home for themselves—and most countries did not welcome them. When the UK and the UN turned Palestine into a Jewish state (and 750,000 Palestinians suddenly became refugees), layers of generational trauma added to the European Holocaust.

May everyone who wants to tell their stories have paper and pens, canvas and paint, theaters and drums and musical instruments of all kinds.
    • RE-CONSTRUCTION
Palestinian architect Yara Sharif imagines using Gaza’s rubble to rebuild.
May the mechanically-inclined among you restore discarded devices and appliances.
May your engineers build biodegradable tools. May they turn discarded and unused batteries into generators.
    • TRANSFORMED SOCIETIES
Abandoned as a child, Kenyan Charles Mully adopted 2000 African children, found water and turned a dusty plot into an oasis.

When the USSR suddenly stopped exporting oil to Cuba in 1989, the country spent three years learning how to grow food and use much less energy. They stopped using cars, turned parking lots into farms and bought bicycles. Watch “The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil.”

Good farming generates water! Read Understanding Soil Health and Watershed Function: A Teacher’s Manual by Didi Pershouse, 2017. May the world’s gardeners send you heirloom flower and vegetable seeds.

    Hummus!
Finally something we can sink our teeth into:
    https://www.bbc.com/travel/article/2...nvented-hummus

    Who Invented Hummus?

...But for many, the question of where hummus comes from is absolutely a matter of patriotism and identity. The now legendary ‘Hummus Wars’ began in 2008 when Lebanon accused Israel of cashing in on what they believed should have been Lebanon’s legacy, publicity and money. The president of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists, angry that hummus had come to be known and marketed throughout the west as an Israeli dish, sued Israel for infringement of food-copyright laws. The Lebanese government petitioned the EU to recognise hummus as Lebanese. Both efforts proved ineffectual.

Hummus is a regional metaphor: beloved all over the world, it's yet another source of tension

It’s a Jewish food,” said chef Tom Kabalo of Raq Hummus in the Israeli-occupied territory of Golan Heights a few days later. “It was mentioned in our bible 3,500 years ago.” I was in his restaurant eating his Tuesday special. Because it was October, the special was ‘Halloween hummus’, garnished with shredded pumpkin and black tahini.

He’s not the only one who told me that hummus is biblical. Kabalo and others are referring to a passage from the Book of Ruth, part of the third and final section of the Hebrew Bible: “Come hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the hometz.”

While it’s true that hometz does sound like hummus, there’s also a good reason to believe otherwise: in modern Hebrew, hometz means vinegar. Of course, ‘dip your bread in vinegar’ would be an odd expression of hospitality, so therein lies the uncertainty.

"Back at Akramawi, I sat at a communal table where I met Noam Yatsiv, a tour guide from the Israeli port city Haifa, who takes his hummus very seriously. He told me that he eats hummus five times a week and has a dog named Hummus, and that hummus comes from Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Palestine.

    “All of them?” I asked.

Yatsiv shrugged. He told me that it doesn’t matter where it’s from. What matters is the way it’s been co-opted and sold commercially in grocery stores in plastic containers. “That’s not hummus!” he said, tearing a piece of pita. “There should be a sign on that hummus the way there is on ‘kosher shrimp’. It should be labelled ‘fake hummus’. There should be an international law.”

Here's for the last three air raids:

In support of the oppressed Palestinian people and as part of the response to the American-British aggression against our country, the naval forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces, with the help of Allah Almighty, carried out a targeting operation against the “Israeli” ship “MSC SKY” in the Arabian Sea using a number of appropriate naval missiles, General Sarea said, adding that the hit was precise and direct.

This targeting operation came only hours after a qualitative operation was carried out, during which the missile force and the unmanned aerial vehicle force launched a number of ballistic missiles and drones at several hostile American warships in the Red Sea, the statement added.

    And this:

    is this:

Later, the Resistance mentioned that its fighters detonated a large explosive device against an Israeli occupation force from the Golani Brigade attempting to infiltrate into Lebanese territory from the direction of “Khirbet Zar’it” opposite the town of Ramya on Monday at 12:15 AM. Hezbollah fighters then targeted the infiltrating Israeli occupation force with several artillery shells, causing direct hits.

    And, if you must know:

Quote Scientific Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies in Moscow, Professor Vitaly Naumkin, stressed that the foreign occupation of parts of the Syrian territory is the cause of everything that is taking place in the region.

“The United States occupies areas in northeastern Syria, while “Israel” occupies the Golan, and we must never forget the need to liberate all occupied Arab territories, including the Syrian Golan.” Naumkin said in an interview with SANA’s correspondent in Moscow Monday.

Naumkin added: “The Russian stance is absolutely clear regarding the need to liberate the occupied Golan in a way or another, and it is better to be done diplomatically,” pointing out that the United States supports “Israel” with all its power despite some American criticism that we hear from time to time.”

    • The Intercept RIPS OFF The Grayzone’s Reporting On NYT H@mas Rąpe Hoax Story:

As the New York Times “reporting” on allegations of widespread sexual violence during Hamas’ October 7th attacks falls apart, The Intercept is taking credit for exposing The Times. One problem? As The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal explains, The Intercept repeated the same allegations, and then later ripped off reporting exposing the Times from The Grayzone and other outlets.

Jimmy and Kurt Metzger talk to Blumenthal about how The Intercept — and Democracy Now — operate as intermediaries between truly independent media and traditional corporate media.

Despite official warnings due to the high risk of war crimes being committed, the Dutch 🇳🇱 government decided after the outbreak of the war in Gaza to continue supplying spare parts for F-35 fighter planes to Israel. [1] , [2]

In addition to the aforementioned warnings, there are at least ten additional grounds on the basis of which it is likely that Israel is violating the laws of war in the current non-international armed conflict with Hamas. These points are elaborated below. On this basis it can be said that Israel is committing war crimes in the Palestinian territories. Or, as Mr. Dr. De Hoon, professor of international criminal law, put it during the Roundtable Discussion on Humanitarian Law of War of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs on November 16, 2023: “It very much looks like Israel is committing war crimes.” [3]

According to Article 48 of the Dutch 🇳🇱 Criminal Code, the following persons are punished as accomplices to a crime:
    1. Those who deliberately assist in the commission of the crime;
    2. Those who deliberately provide the opportunity, means or information to commit the crime.

In light of the above, the Dutch 🇳🇱 government's supply of parts for Israeli F-35 fighter aircraft can be viewed as aiding the commission of war crimes or providing the means to do so.

The Israeli Air Force consists largely of F-35 fighter aircraft. [4] Bombings as mentioned below under points 1, 3, 4 and 5 are carried out with fighter aircraft. If the Netherlands 🇳🇱 continues to supply parts of these F-35 fighter planes to Israel, there is a significant chance that these parts will be used in serious violations of the laws of war.

Rutte, Bruins Slot and Schreinemacher and others have been officially warned that continued arms deliveries to Israel could contribute to war crimes by Israel. In any case, they have been aware of this since then. But as the 10 points below show, Israel has been disregarding the law towards the Palestinians for much, much longer. Therefore, all arms deliveries to or sharing of military intelligence with Israel run the significant risk of aiding violations of the laws of war. This risk has increased dramatically since Israel's response to 'October 7' and is therefore even more true since then.

The significant chance that Israel will violate the laws of war against the Palestinians is increased by the character of the current military operations, in which Israel believes it is waging an existential battle. This risk is further increased because the opponent is dehumanized. For example, the Israeli Minister of Defense states: “We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly.” [5]

Nevertheless, the aforementioned ministers have decided to continue the arms deliveries. By continuing to supply spare parts for F-35 fighter jets to Israel, or contributing in any way to Israel's military capacity, the aforementioned ministers knowingly accept the significant chance of being complicit in crimes committed and committed by Israel. /or to commit war crimes. For this reason they should be prosecuted criminally.

It should also be noted that case law shows that for complicity in war crimes it is not necessary to establish a precisely identifiable contribution to a concretely committed war crime. “The case law of the Supreme Court shows that it is not required that the assistance provided was indispensable (HR 15-12-1987 NJB 1988.99) or made an adequate causal contribution to the basic offense (HR 8-1-1985 NJ 1988.6). It is sufficient that the assistance of the accomplice actually promoted the crime or made its commission easier (HR 10-6-1997 NJ 1979.585 with regard to the provision of information).” [6]
    • 10 violations of (war) law by Israel
    01. On October 31, 2023, Israel attacked a refugee camp with warplanes because an alleged Hamas leader was allegedly hiding there. [7] , [8] This has resulted in dozens of alleged civilian deaths, as well as hundreds of civilian injuries. [9]
The spokesperson of the Israeli army stated in a press statement to CNN
    - that the intended target is responsible for the deaths of many Israelis;
    – that the death of many innocent civilian victims in the attack in question should be seen as the tragedy of the war;
    – that Israel has ordered Palestinian citizens to leave for the south of the Gaza Strip. [10]

None of the points mentioned by the Israeli spokesperson constitute a legal basis for causing civilian casualties. Under the laws of war, it is not by definition prohibited to cause civilian casualties or damage to civilian infrastructure during an attack, but this must be based on a thorough military-legal assessment. This must show that the basic customary law principle of proportionality has been observed. [11] This press statement shows that Israel completely ignores this. This constitutes a violation of Article 7 of the International Crimes Act.

    02. On October 9, 2023, Gaza was cut off from the supply of food, fuel and drinking water by Israel. [12] , [13]

Denying water and food to a population group is a violation of the laws of war. This is laid down in Article 54 of Additional Protocol 1 to the Geneva Conventions, which must apply as customary law. [14] , [15]

This is confirmed by professor of military law Marten Zwanenburg: “The concerns about Israel now mainly lie with closing Gaza. Parties are obliged to allow humanitarian emergency aid to pass through, even if they are residents of the opposing party.” This makes the complete closure of the Gaza Strip difficult for Israel to justify. [16] This also constitutes a violation of Article 7 of the International Crimes Act.

    03. In its current fight against Hamas, Israel frequently bombs buildings used by civilians for residential or other purposes. [17] , [18]

The only way that could be legitimate is if Hamas uses those buildings for military purposes, which would cause this civilian infrastructure to lose its protection under the laws of war and could become a legitimate target. However, a proportionality test must still be applied.

Such an attack may only be carried out if the expected civilian damage in the event of an attack does not exceed the value of the intended military objective.

It is not inconceivable that in certain situations the value of the intended military objective is so high that the civilian damage caused by the destruction of a residential complex is lawful. Consider, for example, the elimination of a high-ranking Hamas executive. In such a case, bombing a residential complex – destroying the housing of dozens of families and the lives they have built – could be proportionate. But those are exceptions. The large scale with which Israel has burned down such residential complexes can only mean that Israel is ignoring the proportionality test. After all, it is impossible that such a high-value military objective could be expected in all those attacks, that the destruction of the housing of dozens of families was not excessive collateral damage.

This demonstrates an interpretation of the law of war in which an entire civilian structure acquires the status of a legitimate target because only part of that object is used by the enemy. This approach to the laws of war is anything but uncontroversial. For example, the academic dissertation of Mr. Dr. JC van den Boogaard ' Proportionality in International Humanitarian Law' shows that such objects should be regarded as 'dual-use' objects:
It is clear that the simultaneous use by civilians and the military of a dual-use object will put a larger burden on the attacker. The military advantage that may be gained must be sufficiently high in order to prevent the attack from being disproportionate. … As long as the object is still also used by civilians, the remaining civilian characteristics should not be discounted altogether on the civilian side of the equation. The object itself has lost its protection from direct attack, but “the loss of the civilian function also performed by that object cannot be allowed to disappear from all calculations as if it had never been performed .” [19]

In view of the above, Israel does not adhere to the basic customary law principle of proportionality in its frequent destruction of Gazan residential complexes, as codified in Article 51, paragraph 5, sub b of the first additional protocol to the Geneva Conventions. This means that the laws of war, and therefore Article 7 of the International Crimes Act, are violated.

    04. Furthermore, it is far from certain whether the intelligence on the basis of which Israel claims that these civilian buildings are being used by Hamas for military purposes is correct.

Misinterpreting intelligence, especially in the heat of battle, is anything but unlikely. Very recently, Dutch 🇳🇱 case law has shown that this can result in violations of the laws of war. [20]

This would constitute a violation of Article 8(2)(e)(i) of the Rome Statute.

    05. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has carried out several rocket attacks on hospitals. [21] , [22] Israel claims that Hamas operates tunnels under these hospitals, which would legitimize the attacks.

The question, however, is whether enemy tunnels under a hospital make the hospital itself a legitimate target. Israel also claims that Hamas uses tunnel exits next to hospitals to fire rockets from there. This makes the tunnel exits next to these hospitals legitimate targets, but not the hospitals themselves.
Professor Zwanenburg states that Israel will 'almost not be able to justify' such bombings. [23]

Mr. Dr. De Hoon also says that it is 'incredibly difficult to ever justify attacking a hospital.' [24]

Although it is indeed difficult to judge this from the Netherlands 🇳🇱, without thorough evidence of the actual situation on the ground, it is nevertheless highly plausible that Israel is committing war crimes with such attacks as codified in Article 8, paragraph 2, sub e, parts ii and iv of the Rome Statute.

    06. According to Human Rights Watch, Israel weaponized white phosphorus in Lebanon and Gaza on October 10 and 11, 2023. [25]

White phosphorus can be used legitimately as a tactical tool, provided there is no risk of harming civilians. Gaza, however, is a densely populated area.
According to Human Rights Watch, by using this in a densely populated area such as Gaza, Israel is taking the risk of causing casualties and violating the laws of war. In that case, there is a violation of Article 7 of the International Crimes Act.

    07. In 2006, Hamas won the elections in the Gaza Strip. As a result of this victory, Israel declared the Gaza Strip hostile territory in 2007. After this, the import of goods to the Gaza Strip was largely restricted through a maritime blockade by Israel: ' …Additional restrictions will also be placed upon the Hamas regime, so that the passage of goods to the Gaza Strip will be limited, the supply of fuel and electricity will be reduced and restrictions will be imposed upon the movement of persons to and from the Strip .' [26]

Although the Israeli Supreme Court sees differently, the independent ICRC ruled that the Israeli maritime blockade causes disproportionate damage to the civilian population, is a collective punishment, and is contrary to international law for both reasons. [27]

    08. According to news medium Al Jazeera, Israel fired rockets at a convoy of ambulances on November 3, 2023. [29] 15 victims are said to have died and 60 others were injured. As described under 1 and 3, it appears that Israel does not care about the principle of proportionality. For this reason, this can be seen as a war crime under Article 8(2)(e)(ii) of the Rome Statute.

    09. The above points all relate to jus in bello, or the law that applies in war. In addition, the law of war also includes jus ad bellum , or the rules that determine whether it is lawful to go to war. The following is important.

Israel has taken the position that it was allowed to defend itself against the Hamas attack on October 7. The Hamas attack is said to have killed more than 1,200 people. In addition, 5,431 people were reportedly injured and 236 hostages were taken. This follows from figures from the UN. [28] According to the same figures, more than 14,800 Palestinians have been killed.

since November 27, 2023 due to Israel's self-defense . In addition, 36,000 people are said to have been injured. Moreover, self-defense has destroyed more than 46,000 Gazan homes and made one and a half million Gazans refugees. Assuming that Israel has the right to military self-defense, then jus ad bellum requires that Israel's response be proportionate. In other words, that it is proportionate to the attack to which it responds. Moreover, self-defense must be effective. This may only be aimed at freeing the hostages and stopping impending attacks. The aforementioned figures make it clear that Israel's response is no longer disproportionate to Hamas's attack. It follows that Israel is equally unconcerned with jus ad bellum.

    10. In 2004, the International Court of Justice stated / reconfirmed that Israel violates international law and the laws of war in its dealings with the Palestinian population in relation to the wall built by Israel on occupied Palestinian territory. [30] In fact, since 1947, Israel has occupied territory that does not belong to it with military superiority. This is in spite of the ceasefire agreement signed by Israel on April 3, 1949 (see point 72 of the ruling of the International Court of Justice). And even after the 1967 war, the United Nations clearly spoke out against the continued land theft by Israel (See points 74 and 75). Many General Council, Human Rights Commission and UN Security Council resolutions have since been issued declaring Israel's military and settler land grabs illegal. [31] Nevertheless, Israel allows the ever-expanding illegal colonization of Palestinian land to continue. The current (extreme) right-wing government of Israel even goes one step further by arming the settlers. [32] , [33]

This demonstrates in the clearest possible sense that Israel is ignoring international law. In light of this, the statement that Israel will adhere to the laws of war against the Palestinians must be seen as justification. This also indicates knowingly turning a blind eye to the significant chance that Israel will violate the laws of war.

    Conclusion

As follows from the case law in the Van Anraat and Kouwenhoven cases, the bar for complicity is not so high that a concrete contribution must have been made to specifically identifiable Israeli war crimes. For complicity in war crimes, it is sufficient that the military capacity of a party that is guilty of committing war crimes has been strengthened. [34]

In view of the previous 10 points, but also in view of the official warnings, it should be clear to the ministers that Israel is such a party.

By continuing to supply F-35 parts, Israel's military capacity is strengthened.
In this way, the aforementioned ministers make themselves complicit in Israel's war crimes.

Interpretation of the Law of War from practice

The laws of war oblige a commander to make the following considerations prior to any attack.
    • Is it a legitimate target? [35]
    • Is the expected collateral damage not excessive compared to the expected military advantage? [36]
    • Can I take certain precautions to further limit the expected collateral damage? [37]
Ad 1. Something is only a legitimate target if it has an enemy military function. An apartment building occupied by civilians is normally not a legitimate target. Civilian objects are protected under the laws of war. However, if the apartment building is used by the opponent it may lose its protection and become a legitimate target. However, that does not mean that an attack is justified - first one must go to step 2.
Ad 2. Suppose that apartment is used by the opponent for military purposes. If one wants to be allowed to attack that apartment, it must first be determined what the expected military advantage of that attack is. Eliminating an enemy general gives a greater (expected) military advantage than damaging one of the enemy field kitchens - just to name a few. It must also be determined what the expected civil damage is. This means: damage to civilian objects and persons.

These two values must then be weighed against each other, and the expected civilian damage must not exceed the expected military advantage.
Ad 3. After this assessment, it must be determined whether the intended military advantage - even if the attack is considered proportionate - can also be achieved in a less damaging manner. Perhaps there will be fewer civilians present if the attack is carried out at night instead of during the day? Perhaps a lighter type of ammunition could be used? Perhaps the citizens can be warned? Perhaps the presence of the Hamas leader in question can be monitored until a time when he is not in a crowded refugee camp? Etc.

CENTCOM claims one missile and three drones launched at destroyer USS Carney were shot down. So:

Quote The spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces General Yahya Sarea on Wednesday announced, in a statement, that the Yemeni navy targeted the US Ship “True Confidence” with appropriate missiles which left it on fire.

General Sarea indicated that the ship’s crew had rejected warning messages from the Yemeni naval forces before the attack.

“Yemeni Armed Forces renewed the warning notification to all ships to respond to calls from the Yemeni Naval Forces, calling on all the targeted ships’ crews to quickly evacuate the vessel after the first attack.”

I see the West Bank is for sale. How about Galilee?

Quote The Israeli daily also reported on repeated power outages in several settlements across the Zionist entity’s north, noting that settlers have been voicing concern as they can’t return to these settlements.

Each time Israel harms a Lebanese civilian, there are reprisals against Israeli civil infrastructure, including houses and a chicken coop this time.

I suppose if you were clever, you would sell your West Bank and flee the country. If you were dumb, you'd live in Montreal and invest in it. It's one of those things like beaches in Arizona that sound great today, but come heavily loaded with buyer's remorse.

As far as we know, all Israeli territory is targetable by munitions from multiple factions which are not constrained by governments. For a while, I suppose they can be comforted by the fact the Iron Dome is not much more accurate than most of the incoming rounds. The answer to when it will be a safe and secure place is never. Just gets worse. Someone should report on whoever buys up those properties, if they do. Probably won't be anything but a strand of broken human failures. Guys, you're late, you are supposed to be buying luxury resorts on the Nile and Euphrates without a care in the world. Instead you get a pile of sand with a well-known legacy of drinking seas of blood.

This video presents some of Trump's statements about Israel war on Gaza. Trump says that Israel's got to finish the job (i.e. the Israel war on Gaza). Trump also claims the Hamas October 7 attack 'wouldn't have happened' if he had been president. Likewise 'Russia would never have attacked Ukraine, everybody knows it' if he had been president, and even rants briefly about Iran, etc.

At this point I can no longer decide who is worse for the world, Trump or Biden as USA president, in charge of the world's most powerful military. Biden's senility makes him an ideal puppet of the deep state, while Trump's obtuse self aggrandizement will render him blind to the fact that he's manipulated by genocidal zionists. We are in big trouble.

The following tweet has been badly worded: the Israeli Real Estate event is to take place on March 10th but apparently violates domestic and international law, and in respect domestically, specifically the Civil Rights Act (1965) and the Fair Housing Act (1968). The issue here is one of exclusivity.

    A small atomic bomb was detonated in Baltimore at a football game;
plutonium signature was from a TVA reactor. Will World War III be averted?

Bill, I googled a bit to try to find the title of the movie you described but can't find it...
An appropriately poetic title might be Measure for Measure.

Israeli Forces Killed Them - These Are Their Names And Faces

In less than 150 days, #Israeli forces have killed over 30,000 #Palestinians across occupied #Gaza and the West Bank.

These are just some of the people killed across both occupied territories every day of the siege.

Most victims listed here were killed by Israel’s attacks in Gaza. Others died from starvation after Israel blocked aid deliveries in Gaza. Some victims highlighted lived in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces and settlers have killed over 400 Palestinians – including over 100 children – since Oct. 7.

Their names and photos were compiled here from family testimonies, verified news reports and civilian projects aimed at documenting the victims of Israel’s attacks. Gaza’s Ministry of Health was comprehensively tracking the names and ages of the dead in the first weeks of Israel’s siege but announced in mid-November it had lost the ability to count and verify the dead due to the scale of Israel’s attacks, the destruction of critical infrastructure and repeated communication blackouts.

AJ+ has worked to methodically document and verify these victims using Ministry of Health data, personal testimonies and information based on the first reports or confirmations of their deaths from relatives, friends and news reports from Gaza. Due to the challenges of reporting on an active war zone, we could not fully confirm all the dates of death. Subscribe for more videos: https://ajplus.co/subscribe
