The Turkish Ministry of Trade has announced the suspension of all trade exchanges with the Israeli occupation over the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the ministry stated yesterday that it has entered the second phase of state-level measures, halting exports and imports of all products with Israel.

BREAKING: Tamir Morag of Channel 14 reports that the Israeli government has received word that the top echelon of the Israeli government and IDF will receive idictments from the ICC within the next week or so.

The individuals to be indicated include Netanyahu, Gallant, and Halevi. But the list will not stop there. They will likely be charged with crimes against humanity.

Despite his bravado about the ICC, I am hearing from sources that Netanyahu is very nervous about the high likelihood that they will issue arrest warrants. At this point, it appears that that is inevitable.

While the ICC cannot arrest anyone, all court members are obligated to hand over individuals with warrants against them. So if served, that could stop anyone served from going to 124 countries. Basically, all important nations on earth aside from the United States, China, India, and a few Arab states (and Israel, of course).

Most importantly, it would be a nightmare for Israel's international image. Russia and Sudan have had warrants issued for their leaders. But no Western democracy ever has. This is yet another piece of diplomatic fallout from the war. The clock the international community set for this conflict long expired.

Now, Israel finds itself fighting in the ICJ and soon the ICC. This will embroil Israel in a multi-year legal and diplomatic nightmare. Netanyahu is reportedly very concerned about this and thinks he can avoid some of these warrants by delaying an invasion of Rafah even further. That seems to be the main consideration right now—stopping an operation—far more than the US or Egypt.

The organization highlighted that only 33 percent of Gaza's 36 hospitals and 30 percent of primary healthcare centers are functioning to some extent, amidst ongoing attacks and shortages of vital medical supplies, fuel, and staff.

Erdogan estimates terminated Israeli-Turkish trade to cost $9.5 Bln
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Friday that Ankara decided to terminate all trade with "Israel" which he claimed to be at $9.5 Bln, as he expressed the Israeli occupation already enjoys Western support, particularly that of the US.

After announcing yesterday that Turkey will halt trade with "Israel", despite it being worth approximately $7 billion per year, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced on Friday, during a conference set to reveal April trade figures, that the trading halt will remain until a permanent ceasefire and humanitarian aid are secured in the Gaza Strip.

Bolat emphasized, "We decided to stop exports and imports to and from Israel until a permanent ceasefire is achieved (in Gaza) and humanitarian aid is allowed without interruption."

The trade minister further stressed that "Israel's" attitude, which he described as "uncompromising", coupled with the worsening situation in Gaza's southern Rafah region, had prompted Ankara to take the decision to halt trade with Tel Aviv.

Erdogan detailed to reporters that "The entire West is working for Israel. They work for Israel, especially the United States," adding that the "poor and unfortunate people of Palestine were doomed to die in the face of Israeli bombs. We couldn't remain tolerant in the face of this, so we took steps. The trade volume was $9.5 billion. We ignored it and closed this door."

According to Sputnik's analysis of Turkey's foreign trade figures, the nation exported $5.4 billion to Israel and purchased $1.6 billion in Israeli goods in 2023.

Last month the Turkish Trade Ministry announced the restriction of exports of certain products to "Israel". It underscored that the restriction will continue until "Israel" implements a cease-fire and allows “sufficient and uninterrupted flow" of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

An Israeli overreaction

The Israeli occupation's foreign minister responded by calling Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a "dictator", accusing him of ignoring the interests of the people of Turkey by restricting ports for Israeli imports and exports.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz posted on X, "This is how a dictator behaves, disregarding the interests of the Turkish people and businessmen, and ignoring international trade agreements."

Katz said he instructed the foreign ministry to work to create alternatives for trade with Turkey, focusing on local production and imports from other countries.

In 210 days, the number of #Palestinian martyrs has risen to 34,622 while the number of wounded has surged to 77,867, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza.

The Ministry also reported that the Israeli occupation forces have committed three new massacres in Gaza, killing 26 martyrs and injuring 51 others.

Yet, these numbers are underreported as Palestinian health authorities announced their inability to accurately tally the number of all the dead bodies in the #Gaza Strip, as hospitals, emergency services, and communications are barely functioning.

Iraqi Shiite groups claim for first time to have struck Beer Sheva city in southern Israel

Shiite armed groups of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq have said in a statement they had carried out a new attack on Israeli territory after a brief lull, claiming for the first time to have shelled the southern Israeli city of Beer Sheva in the Negev area.

"Continuing our support for the resistance to the occupation, in support of our people in the Gaza Strip, and response to the massacres committed by the usurper entity against Palestinian civilians, including children, women and the elderly, fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq attacked a vital target in Beer Sheva in the occupied territories on Thursday, May 2, with al-Arqab cruise missiles," the Islamic Resistance in Iraq said on Telegram.

The armed groups added that they will continue to attack key targets in Israel in response to its military action in the Gaza Strip.

10,000 people missing in Gaza since Israeli attacks began over 210 days ago

Nearly 10,000 people are either missing or trapped under the rubble due to Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7 last year, according to local authorities in the Palestinian enclave.

The Israeli army has "committed 3,070 massacres in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7," the government media office in Gaza said in a statement.

A total of 14,944 children and 9,849 women have lost their lives in attacks carried out by the Israeli army, said the statement.

The number of Palestinians killed in Gaza has reached 34,622, while that of injured who have been hospitalized totals 77,867, noted the statement.

It stressed that 72% of those exposed to Israeli attacks in Gaza were women and children.

About 30 children have so far died due to malnutrition and fluid loss in the blockaded territory, it noted.

The Israeli army has used more than 75,000 tons of explosives since the ongoing offensive began, the statement said, adding that some 492 healthcare workers and 68 civil defense personnel have been killed in attacks targeting Gaza's health sector.

The bodies of 471 Palestinians have been unearthed from six mass graves in hospitals raided by Israeli soldiers, said the media office.

It also said that nearly 11,000 injured are in critical condition and require treatment abroad, while 10,000 cancer patients are at risk of dying due to insufficient health care.

Doctors in Gaza have diagnosed about 1.095 million cases of infectious diseases and more than 20,000 cases of Hepatitis A, the statement said, pointing to the mass displacement of civilians caused by the Israeli offensive.

Some 60,000 pregnant women are at risk due to lack of health care, as are 350,000 people suffering from chronic diseases due to medication shortages, according to the statement.

Since the Israeli army began its attacks, it had detained more than 5,000 Palestinians in Gaza, it added.

Israeli soldiers have detained 310 healthcare workers and 20 journalists, while 2 million people out of Gaza's 2.3 million population have been displaced, the statement stressed.

Israel's attacks have so far directly caused $33 billion of damage in the Gaza Strip, it said.

Yemen has been actively targeting Israeli and US interests in the region as part of a broader campaign against the brutal war on Gaza. Recent months have seen Yemeni forces seizing or launching drone and missile attacks on ships linked to Israel, the US, or the UK in regional waters.

Since October, when Israel initiated its Gaza offensive, Yemen has also targeted ports controlled by Israel. Yemen maintains that attacks on shipping will persist until Israel ceases its aggression on Gaza.

US working to prevent ICC arrest warrant for Netanyahu: Reports

The US is working to prevent the issuance of an arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the attack on Gaza, Israeli media has reported.

According to the news site Walla, Netanyahu is leading a "non-stop push over the telephone" to prevent an arrest warrant being issued against him by the ICC, particularly communicating with the White House.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv has reported that Netanyahu is "frightened and unusually stressed" by the possibility of an imminent arrest warrant.

Sources close to the paper believe that the arrest warrants are only a matter of time.

The paper reported that Defence Minister Yoav Galant and Chief of Staff Major-General Herzi Halevi could also be served with warrants.

On 26 April, Netanyahu tweeted that "under my leadership, Israel will never accept any attempt by the Hague-based Criminal Court to undermine its fundamental right to defend itself".

Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz told the N12 channel that the warrant was "absolute hypocrisy."

"If necessary, we will not leave the country," he said.

An internal State Department memo reviewed by Reuters on Saturday revealed senior US officials have advised Secretary of State Antony Blinken that they do not find "credible or reliable" Israel's assurances that it is using US-supplied weapons in accordance with international humanitarian law.

Other officials upheld support for Israel's representation.

Under a National Security Memorandum issued by President Joe Biden in February, Blinken must report to Congress by 8 May on whether he finds credible Israel's assurances that its use of US weapons does not violate US or international law.

By 24 March, at least seven State Department bureaus had sent in their contributions to an initial "options memo" to Blinken. Parts of the memo, which has not been previously reported, were classified.

The submissions to the memo provide the most extensive picture to date of the divisions inside the State Department over whether Israel might be violating international humanitarian law in Gaza.
