Despite his bravado about the ICC, I am hearing from sources that Netanyahu is very nervous about the high likelihood that they will issue arrest warrants. At this point, it appears that that is inevitable.

While the ICC cannot arrest anyone...

Still out there--why would this unenforceable factoid and potential image stain carry such gravity?

If he really does care so much about it, why would he blatantly do things that beg for it?


Like it's not the Israeli protests that make any difference. Humans don't matter, only consequences. Because I do not think that one is capable of making a plan that corresponds to reality, I guess that means I will never understand it. Perhaps the court can argue that because Gaza is not a state, it has not had the opportunity to refuse jurisdiction, which it is not currently refusing. That is how Americans were grandfathered into a country that had not existed and they never specifically joined.


Meanwhile:

“They found it hard to avoid crying” was the title of an article published by the Israeli newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, disclosing details of a meeting between businessmen investing in north of occupied Palestine and members of Negev-Galilee development committee in the Knesset.

The Zionist paper mentioned that the businessmen of the North are collapsing under the impact of the total paralysis caused by Hezbollah attacks, whose end do not loom in the horizon.

Head of the regional council in the North said that the businessmen are incapable of waiting limitlessly, amid the absence of the governmental role, the paper added.

The Chief Executive Officer of Upper Galilee Economic Firm reported that many firms are endangered by collapse as they will be unlikely visited by tourists although they are several kilometers away from the borders with Lebanon.

Moty Ohana, a business owner, told the Knesset committee that he fruitlessly tried to obtain financial compensations from the government, adding that he took a loan to manage with survival.

A closed hotel owner screamed, “People are collapsing and having heart attacks.”

Yedioth Ahronoth indicated that Hezbollah attacks are causing the situation in the North to exacerbate as around 100 thousand settlers have been displaced with meager intention to return and almost 10 thousand firms are facing an existential threat.

If you throw a new fact in someones face they will usually judge it by how it makes them feel and if they like the fact or not. To compare the fact to already known fact or to analyse it or research it...Few will bother.
Emotional manipulation is running rampant and most people cant control their emotions.They are controlled by it. And emotion dictates the tone of your thoughts and the vibration of your body.. Could do it the other way and control the emotions with your thoughts but for most people that thought has never occured or they never bothered to exercise some self discipline. Weak inner world will always be pushed around by the outside world...

Emotions and feelings of course do matter, and is often the initial response isn't it. But when new information comes along it can alter previous or even existing conceptions. That's when the intellect needs to kick in, to help to make sense of it all (the emotional response). I do agree though: everything at the moment seems deliberately structured to appeal to emotion, not sensible objective grounded reasoning which can open the door to resolution, then allowing the feeling to become more mature.

It sounds to me like this basic idea applies to, well, scripture.

"The moment" seems attached like an anchor on a chain to the same primitive knuckle-dragging ideas as in ages past, particularly about Israel and what we also see as a Crusade against Orthodoxy. Seems to be the same thing passed down with perpetual oblivion to objectivity, and dependence on some form of anxiety or compulsion that results in what might be broadly called Fundamentalism.

The flowering of Catholic and Jewish doctrines. It's not much different from that, is it? Steadily the same thing.

As an outsider, none of that affects you.

Conversely, I suppose if you are born in a community of it, you are choosing to "keep returning". You have got some kind of addiction that is impossible for me to taste.

These people are unlikely to ever "hear it".

I've tried to interact with several John Birch-alike devotees, and, you can't. You can do what they say, or suffer. That's pretty much it.

The media have always behaved thus. I remember being shocked when I read about the near genocide in East Timor, the western media barely commented on it as it was a corporate resource grab - making it legitimate probably!

If we don't have regular media, both mainstream and social, talking points then it is difficult to generate a discussion thread for them.

That is noticeable because usually damage is not rated. It is usually said if ambulances or helicopters are involved, but almost none of these hits are called "destructive" by Israeli media.

Out here, whenever Lebanese people are hurt, HZB gives it back the next day in a way you can understand.

Kiryat Shmona is not a new target, many of these sites have been struck repetitively, so today you get a qualitative difference.

12-15 Katys can't destroy very much, so, this seems to be speaking to the capability of the Falaq.
