The #UnitedNations General Assembly will adopt a Palestinian-drafted resolution on Wednesday, demanding "Israel" end "its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory" within 12 months.

This command will isolate the occupation a few days before world leaders attend the annual UN gathering held in New York on September 26. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to address the 193-member assembly on the same day as Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The draft resolution seeks to incorporate the International Court of Justice's (#ICJ) advisory opinion deeming "Israel's" occupation of Palestinian territories and settlements illegal, in order to demand the regime's withdrawal.

The advisory opinion by the UN's highest judicial authority, known as the World Court, urged for this action to be completed "as rapidly as possible." However, the General Assembly resolution allows for a 12-month timeframe.

At least fourteen people have been killed and another estimated 450 people injured after radio communications devices owned by Hezbollah members exploded in Beirut on Wednesday, the Health Ministry said. The new wave of detonations follows a series of similar, simultaneous explosions on Tuesday in Lebanon and Syria, which reportedly killed at least 12 people, including two children, and wounded nearly 3,000.

Reports say that the second day of the attack included devices like handheld, walkie-talkie portable radios and solar equipment, rather than pagers—the devices involved in the previous wave of explosions.

This is fishy.

With all this stuff happening, there is no reason someone could not have taken batteries out of something, opened the device, and said, oh, look, a 20g packet of explosives.

So far I have not seen any evidence. I'm not supposed to join the chorus of "Israel did it" without a reason. I suspect them. But what is this? A new batch of pagers almost certainly wasn't sourced from the same channels as installed solar units. That would require Israel to have access to multiple streams of products before they make it into Lebanon. How do we know they aren't everywhere? Until we have some facts, you might as well assume that today "you" might be Hamas, and something will explode.

I might have thought it was a software virus, which might be able to exploit something like a particular pager, but I'm not sure I would believe that all of this could be done simply by hacking.

At the moment, sabotage is the most likely explanation:

The first wave of the attack, which saw more than 5,000 Gold Apollo AR924 pagers distributed by Hezbollah to its members some five months ago simultaneously explode on September 17, claimed the lives of 12 people, including two children, and wounded more than 2,800 others. Among those wounded in Lebanon was the Iranian ambassador to the country, Mojtaba Amani.

The Taiwan-based Gold Apollo said that the pagers were made by a Hungary-based contractor, BAC Consulting KFT. The company however appears to be just a front. The pagers were reportedly rigged with explosives by Israeli intelligence services before being shipped to Lebanon.

In the second wave, which took place on September 18, hundreds of Icom IC-V82 handheld radios exploded across Lebanon.

Just like in the first wave of the attack, blasts were reported in several parts of Lebanon, from the Baalbek-Hermel governorate in north, to the capital of Beirut, the Beqaa Valley in the east and the South governorate, the heartland of Hezbollah.

A sales executive at the United States subsidiary of the Japan-based Icom said the radios involved in the attack appeared to be “knockoff” products.

Citing two sources, the Axios news outlets reported that the handheld radios were booby-trapped in advance by Israeli intelligence services just like the pagers and then delivered to Hezbollah. The group wanted to use these devices as a part of an emergency communications system, which was supposed to be helpful during a war with Israel.

In total, the attack claimed the lives of 32 people and wounded more than 3,200 others. Some of the wounded have been already transported to Iran and Syria for treatment.

Israel’s main spy agency, Mossad, and the Military Intelligence Directorate, known as Aman, were reportedly behind the sophisticated attack.

Hezbollah and its allies in Lebanon have been launching near-daily attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces in support of the Gaza Strip since the start of the Israeli war on the Palestinian enclave last October.

The deadly sabotage attack was likely meant to provoke Hezbollah. The group has already vowed to respond to the attack while affirming that it will continue to launch attacks in support of Gaza. Its Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah is expected to provide more details on the attack and how the group will respond to it in an upcoming speech.

Israel's Mossad had to have planned these electronic devices attacks months ahead, if not years ahead, considering all of the steps involved, i.e. manufacturing the explosives & of the electronic devices themselves, lining up the industrial sites involved, and distribution systems, etc. Israel simply cannot claim to just be responding to Hezbollah's recent attacks on northern Israeli sites. It's more like Israel's annexation of southern Lebanon is something they planned decades ago.

Israel has just demonstrated, once again, that THEY are the terrorist threat to the world. The atrocities they commit against their Arab neighbours are just practice for what they plan to do to the rest of us to carry on their world domination agenda. Such as what they did on 9/11, and to the USS Liberty, and the Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell child sex trafficking extortion operation, etc.

But here's an important question. It's still not clear whether all of the exploding devices in Lebannon were of the 'smart' sort, i.e. accessible through online hacking. What about the solar panels, how the heck would you insert explosives in there, and did they too have some 'online' connection? And if NO online connection, how was the Mossad pulse signal activating the explosive? We better find out soon...

Was it the panels themselves, or their controller boxes, that were connected to (at least listening to) grid communications?

Given that most other power and appliance equipment (and, er eh, voting ballot tabulators) are being connected to the communications grid these days, I've little doubt but that some solar panel controller boxes are also connected, especially for any solar setups that can interoperate with grid power, whether

• flipping the load back and forth, depending on whether grid power or solar power is better at the moment,
• selling our solar power back up the lines to the grid,
• monitoring the load on the grid, the better to manage the grid's switches and generators, or
• as part of the vast surveillance and control network intended to get us all (us plebians, not them elite) carbon neutral.

Furthermore, as we know with voting ballot tabulators, things can be listening to the communications grid that we're told aren't listening, or at least are not told are listening. Any "box" of electronics big enough to serve as a wrist watch can have that facility designed into them, with hardly a noticeable bit of extra electronics and an itsy-bitsy circuit trace that serves as the listening antenna.

In Alexander Mercouris' video update yesterday, he included a section that I felt was so ery important I've copied the transcript here, with a few minor edits to make it as readable as possible. In his video, embedded below, the section runs from 44:44—49:46.

What Mercouris stresses is that Israel has contravened an international treaty, to which it is a signatory, making it a war crime to deploy explosive booby traps which can indiscriminately injure or kill innocent civilians.

On this particular attack with the pagers there's been particular criticism. And one of the aspects of this is that there's been criticism connected with how indiscriminate this attack ultimately was because while the pages were used by Hezbollah officials and fighters, many of them were used by civilians as well.

There's reports that at least one child was handling these pagers and was killed. So that there is a deeply disturbing indiscriminate quality to this operation.

It does NOT seem to have been a targeted killing where the targeted killings are themselves Justified, an issue I'm not going to explore in this program.

The Guardian newspaper has made a further point about this particular attack, and I will read it.

In the Second World War, guerilla forces scattered large quantities of booby trapped objects likely to be attractive to civilians. The idea was to cause wide scale and indiscriminate death. The Japanese manufactured a tobacco pipe with a charge detonated by a spring-loaded striker. The Italians produced a headset that blew up when it was plugged in.

More than half a century later, a global treaty came into Force which "prohibited in all circumstances to use booby traps or other devices in the form of apparently harmless portable objects that are specifically designed and constructed to contain explosive material."

Has anyone told Israel and its jubilant supporters that t is a signatory to the relevant protocol?

What Israel has done is a gross contravention of international law, and perhaps a war crime. It is no military value. All of these explosive devices were detonated prematurely before the military offensive that presumably needed to be launched.

The devices were exploded before that offensive was in fact launched, so in order to kill perhaps 20 people, injure a large number of others, but do nothing that is ultimately going to affect Hezbollah's military capability.

Israel at a time when it is already facing multiple legal challenges in the Hague has just done something which contravenes international law, may be a war crime, and which might provide yet another course of legal action against it. I appreciate that many people have convinced themselves that Israel has total impunity over what it does.

All I would say about that is that it has that impunity up to the point when it does not.

Israel's Pager Attack - A Sophisticated One-Time Shot With Little Effect

Yesterday's terrorist attack by Israel against Hizbullah in Lebanon was quite sophisticated.

Back in February Hizbullah had urged its affiliates to avoid smart-phones, which can be controlled by foreign intelligence services, and to instead use pagers to receive text messages and alarms when necessary.

Israel must have recognized that suggestion as a chance to infiltrate the supply chain for these communication tools.

It somehow managed to manipulate pager shipments to Lebanon some of which would be acquired by Hizbullah and its affiliates. Yesterday specific encoded messages were sent to the manipulated pagers. Some moments later they started to blow up. Eleven people were killed and some 4,000 were wounded.

Not all people killed or wounded were members of Hizbullah. Pagers are also used by emergency and volunteer services. Western media avoid to call this attack a terrorist operation. But just ask yourself how they would describe the attack if this had happened to the other side of the conflict.

Pagers are not an exclusive means of Hizbullah. The attack was indiscriminate. The explosions happened in many situations of daily life - during visits in shops (vid), in driving cars in the middle of traffic, near to bystanders including children.

The pagers were sold under the brand name of Gold Apollo, a Taiwanese company specialized in such devices. But, according to the company, the devices sold in Lebanon were manufactured under license by the Hungarian company BAC Consulting KFT.

The CEO and founder of BAC is Cristiana Arcidiacono-Barsony, who describes herself as a strategic adviser in internal affairs with international experience in the Middle East. According to her academic profile she studied at SOAS and LSE universities in London.

The above points to an MI-6 involvement in the affair.

Elijah Magnier reports (vid) that the delivery of the pagers had been held up for several months by customs in a Middle Eastern country. The time was allegedly used by Israeli services to dismantle the devices and to replace their original Lithium-Ion batteries with ones which included explosives and birdshot to create a maximum of damage. The electronics of the devices were manipulated to trigger delayed explosions after the pager received a certain coded message.

This very sophisticated operations must have cost millions and must have involved a quite large number of specialists.

It would have been ideal for Israel to trigger such a mayhem as part of a general attack on Hizbullah. It would have increased Hizbullah's time to implement its defense plans.

To trigger the attack outside of a large scale war context is a rather limp maneuver.
Most of the wounded will soon recuperate and return to their duties.

Israeli officials claim that they triggered the operation because some Hizbullah members had found out about the explosives and would soon alarm their leadership. It was thus a 'use it or lose it' situation.

That though does not sound plausible to me. How would Israel know that Hizbullah members found out about it? If they had so why would they not immediately inform their command of the imminent danger?

It is more plausible that the Netanyahu government used the attack as a means to silence it critics which demand an all out attack on Hizbullah. The Israeli military and Netanyahu know that a war with Hizbullah would be theirs to lose.

Now they can say: "See, we are already doing something very very serious ..."

But that wad has been blown for little effect. It was a one time shot. They chances to repeat such an operation are close to nil.

Tomorrow Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah will publicly offer more information about the incident and its possible consequences.

Israel's terror attack in Lebanon '15 years in the making': Report
A US intelligence source says the CIA had long been 'reluctant' to employ such a method given its risk to civilians being 'too high'

Israel’s terror attacks in Lebanon this week were planned by Tel Aviv for over a decade, according to a US intelligence source cited by ABC News.

“Israel had a hand in the manufacturing of pagers that exploded on Hezbollah operatives this week,” the source said on 19 September, adding that the “supply chain interdiction” was planned for “at least 15 years.”

The source told ABC that “the CIA has long been reluctant to employ this tactic because the risk to innocents was too high.”

According to the report, the planning involved a number of shell companies. “Multiple layers” of Israeli intelligence operatives posed as a legitimate firm, with some of those involved in the work not knowing who they were working for, it added.

While the attacks were attributed to Israel within minutes, the New York Times (NYT) was the first to report Israel’s involvement. Sources cited by the outlet said one to two ounces of explosives and a remote trigger were planted in them.

NYT confirmed the attack against Lebanon was the result of a “complex and long in the making” Israeli operation, citing a dozen current and former defense and intelligence officials. A number of shell companies served as fronts for the production of thousands of pagers which ended up in the hands of the Lebanese resistance and others in Lebanon, according to the report.

Among these was BAC Consulting, a Hungarian-based firm that acted as an “intermediary,” according to Hungarian government official Zoltan Kovacs. Kovacs said on Wednesday that BAC Consulting had “no manufacturing or operational site” in Hungary and that investigations were ongoing.

The Hungarian government said the same day that the pagers “have never been in Hungary.” The Taiwanese Gold Apollo firm, whose brand is used by BAC Consulting under license, has denied any involvement in the production. “I can say with certainty they were not made in Taiwan,” Taiwanese Economy Minister Kuo Jyh-huei said on 20 September.

BAC Consulting is registered with Cristiana Rosaria Bársony-Arcidiacono, listed as its owner and sole employee on the company website, which was blocked behind a username and password on Wednesday morning.

Another company involved is Bulgarian firm Norta Global Ltd, which has been linked to the sale of the pagers. Bulgaria announced on 19 September that it is opening an investigation into the Sofia-based firm.

Bulgaria’s state security agency, DANS, said on Friday that no pagers used in the Israeli attacks were imported to, exported from, or manufactured in Bulgaria.

The second wave of Israeli terror attacks hit Lebanon on 18 September, causing walkie-talkies to explode across the country. The Japanese firm behind the walkie-talkie models that exploded on Wednesday, Icom Inc, said on 19 September that the production of their ICOM-V82 handheld radio was discontinued in 2014 and that signs pointed to the devices being counterfeited.

“[The device in question] was discontinued about 10 years ago, and since then, it has not been shipped from our company. The production of the batteries needed to operate the main unit has also been discontinued, and a hologram seal to distinguish counterfeit products was not attached, so it is not possible to confirm whether the product shipped from our company,” it said.

“We are currently gathering information,” said Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi on Thursday. There is “the possibility of a fake,” or that “the battery may have been replaced with a battery that was modified to explode after the product was acquired,” Yoshiki Enomoto, the general manager of Icom’s security and trade division, told Japanese media that day.

Ray Novak, senior sales manager for Icom’s US division, told AP, “I can guarantee you they were not our products.”

The multi-wave Israeli terror attacks that struck across Lebanon over a period of two days killed 37 people and wounded thousands.

“We have formed multiple internal technical, technological, and security investigation committees, and they are studying all hypotheses. We have reached an almost definitive conclusion regarding the circumstances of the bombings, but we are waiting to confirm them," Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said in a speech on 19 September.

He added that Israel will face “tough retribution and just punishment, where it expects it and where it does not.”

“The enemy, incapable of face-to-face confrontation, commits crimes behind the front line and magnifies the achievement of the crime in order to delay its demise and hide the scandal of its successive defeats from the world.

He said IRGC servicemen, together with the great Iranian nation, laud the numerous sacrifices made by Hezbollah fighters, pay homage to the victims of recent device explosions in Lebanon, offer condolences to their families, and pray for the quick recovery of the injured.

Salami said ‘Israel’ has not achieved any of its goals in Gaza after nearly a year of war and resorting to all kinds of crimes, despite the “ignorant and unwavering support of the Western governments”.

“The humiliated enemy which is under the daily strikes of the resistance in the center, north, east and south and besieged will get nowhere with the new massive terrorist attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday using pagers and electronic systems against women, men and children of Lebanon.”

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has denounced the detonation of pagers and wireless devices in Lebanon, saying it is a blatant violation of international law.

The organization said the attack did not only target Hezbollah members but also indiscriminately exploded devices used by civilians.

While:

Israeli Channel 14 said between 150 to 200 rockets were launched from Lebanon in the last hour. “Hezbollah wanted to demonstrate that after the Israeli airstrikes yesterday, it is capable of launching rockets as it wishes, and this is evident,” the Israeli channel reported.

Israeli Channel 12 said that firefighting planes were assisting in extinguishing the fires in the Safed area, reporting outbreaks of fires in central and northern Golan following the rocket launches from Lebanon.



The logic of "a significant Israeli win" = the north is burned to the point of becoming uninhabitable.
