I don't quite know why, but that struck me as hilarious and I snorted and laughed until tears came to my eyes.
I guess I just needed that, so thanks, Johnny.

I felt moved to google "Gnorts"
(see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G'nort )
...and discovered that:
"G'nort (pronunciation: "nort"[1]) Esplanade G'neesmacher is a character appearing in DC Comics.
He is a member of the Green Lantern Corps and later a Darkstar and a member of the Justice League Antarctica.
He resembles an anthropomorphic dog and is generally incompetent and used as comic relief."

(There is a much longer explanation on the Wikimedia page of who "G'nort" is and how he came about, typical of the prodigious amount of time and energy that can be devoted to made up, trivial characters from sources like DC Comics, though somehow I missed the existence of G'nort until now. )
