Something is getting lost out of sight: the fact that the June 13 unprovoked I$rael attack on Iran violates international law. And the fact that Israel and USA bombing nuclear facilities are also in violation of international law. When will they be held accountable for these crimes.

There's a particular malevolence in bombing nuclear facilities, considering that it could trigger radioactive leaks that could render wide region inhabitable for decades.

Israel should be kicked out of the UN General Assembly. And USA should certainly have their 'veto' seat removed from the UN Security Council.

It's a little like saying, 100% truthfully, that you don't have a gun. But you have all the pieces. And you could assemble them to make a working gun in 10 minutes flat.

... and moreover ... comparing a report from March that you weren't known to be assembling the gun at that time, with concerns that you were now, three months later in June, assembling it, having just been attacked by the very enemy that was your well known biggest, most powerful, adversary, and likely your primary motivation for having gun parts in the first place.

My last point below is not a prediction, but more a logical inference of a non-zero possibility.

I'm certain that:

1. Iran's nuclear enrichment capability is intact (as is all their uranium that's been enriched so far).
2. They could create a Hiroshima-style A-bomb maybe within weeks if they wanted to. (But like the 'Little Boy', it'd be large and cumbersome, maybe too heavy for any ballistic missile unless it was rather smaller than the Hiroshima bomb.)

It seems to me that the theater presented by Trump and Hegseth is just American media PR, also (importantly) telling the Israelis and the world that they've done all they can and thereore are now stepping back from it all.

But that leaves tha possibility that the Israelis may sometime soon use a nuclear weapon to strike Iran again, arguing (rightly or wrongly) that as the bunker-busters have failed, only a big nuke can destroy Iran's program.

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Thank you, Madam. President, for organizing this important annual open debate. I also thank the briefers for their contributions. Regrettably, international humanitarian law continues to be systematically and widely violated, and children still bear the brunt of wars they neither started nor ever wanted.

Armed conflicts endanger the lives and well-being of children while having far-reaching short-term and long-term impacts on their health, education, development, and future. Adherence to international humanitarian law is among the key commitments that should be observed by all to ensure effective protection of children

Madam President,

According to the UN reports, over fifty thousand Palestinian children have been killed or injured by Israel since 2023.

The magnitude of the savagery of the Israeli regime is to the extent that, due to its persistent killing of children, a new term has emerged, as I quote, “Wounded Child, No Surviving Family,” which refers to Palestinian parents who were killed while their children were left injured.

In addition to deliberate attacks by Israel against children and civilian objects necessary for children, such as schools and hospitals, hundreds of thousands of children have been deliberately deprived of access to food, water, medicine, and other basic services.

Right now, many of them are subjected to starvation as a method of warfare by Israel, while they are also facing the risk of being targeted in lines awaiting humanitarian assistance.

Madam President,

Throughout the past weeks, the world witnessed in anguish and anger the same pattern and practice of the Israeli regime in killing children, this time in Iran.

The regime, in the course of its brutal aggression against my country, deliberately attacked civilians since 13 June, killing dozens of children, including toddlers and babies as young as 2 months old.

The horrific atrocities and the widespread and systematic attacks of the occupying regime in the region are increasing; this is a red alert for the international community and demonstrates the serious perils and dangers that the Israeli regime poses to the lives, well-being, safety, and security of children.

However, the regime will be held fully accountable for its crimes, in particular, the policy and practice of targeting children.

Madam President,

Last week, the Israeli regime was included again in the blacklist of parties that commit grave violations affecting children in situations of armed conflict on the agenda of the Security Council.

While this is an essential initial step, it is neither enough nor proportionate for stopping the regime’s targeting of children.

This very august body must shoulder its responsibilities to save the lives of children as soon as possible and thus immediately adopt effective enforcement actions against the child-killing regime of Israel.

Although the United States has blocked every effort of the UN Security Council that sought to protect Palestinian children, we should not give up in the face of such double standards and hypocrisy; all legal avenues must be exhausted to ensure the protection of the Palestinian people, including their children.

In conclusion, Madam President, I categorically reject the baseless and irrelevant fabrications leveled against my country yesterday in this chamber by the representative of the child-killing Israeli regime. That regime had no choice but to resort to lies and misinformation before this Council, but these accusations hardly deserve a response — the facts speak for themselves.

Despite a temporary lull, it has turned back on Gaza and Lebanon full force. Again, one possibility is the removal of the US regime. I don't know why we still have one. I'm not interested in banding together to export genocide. The Israeli one might collapse under the weight of its own trial, but, it certainly needs the seriousness called lack of being propped up by others, and some prosecutions. Otherwise a stand-down of attacks against it, only permits it to continue its cadaverous obsession.

A short discussion on whether or not Fordaw has been demolished is followed by Alexander stating that regardless of whether it has or hasn't it's a red herring and that the real issue is the whereabouts of the uranium? This is what the US will be wanting to know, and of course regime change in Iran hasn't been forgotten either.

Blame for the escalations has been laid at the IAEA who will no longer be kept in the loop by the Iranians. Alexander thinks Rafael Grossi should resign. Lavrov has written that the IAEA findings could be leaked to the public and that they and other similar bodies are funded by the West (trust issues)

Meanwhile, completely unreported in the media, there is currently a massive meeting of defence ministers from Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan and India about weapons (taking place in China) and that iran will probably get help with their cyberattacks and that Iran has now accepted military help from its allies.

Doctors warn flour sacks entering Gaza laced with Oxycodone: Report
The highly addictive opioid drug can cause severe respiratory depression, overdose, and death

Information is beginning to emerge about the smuggling of a highly addictive opioid pain medication into the Gaza Strip via bags of flour that are being distributed as humanitarian aid.

Reports have said that Oxycodone – the controversial drug behind the opioid epidemic in the US – is not only being smuggled in flour bags, but also crushed into powder and mixed into the flour itself.

Gaza-based pharmacist Omar Hamad has cited the Anti-Drug Committee in the strip as saying that Israel has been smuggling the drug in “through bags of flour provided as aid.”

“It has also been revealed that the drug is not only hidden inside flour bags, but the flour itself appears to be mixed with it,” Hamad said on X on 26 June.

“Many citizens have found these drugs, and I saw them with my own eyes in the flour sacks. There is also a doctor named Khalil Abu Nada who wrote a full report on this issue,” Hamad added.

Dr Khalil Abu Nada wrote in the report mentioned by Hamad that “this may be one of the reasons behind the recent theft of flour trucks in southern Gaza (as of yesterday),” while going on to describe the addictive nature of Oxycodone and its risks and side effects, which include severe respiratory depression.

Gaza journalist Abdullah Attar also reported that the opioid drug is being found inside flour bags.

Oxycodone and other heavy-duty opioid prescription medications like it were behind the deaths of hundreds of thousands of US citizens between 1999 and 2020.

The reports come as Palestinians continue to suffer due to severe, Israeli-imposed restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza – which resulted in the spread of famine across the strip.

A new, US-Israeli aid distribution mechanism called the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) – which has been condemned by the UN and various international rights groups – is resulting in near-daily deaths.

The plan has accelerated the Israeli army’s goal of displacing Gaza’s population southward and securing control over the strip. Palestinians show up at distribution sites overseen by US contractors and Israeli troops, and are shot dead and targeted with artillery while waiting for aid.

Over 500 Palestinians have been killed at GHF sites since the initiative was launched late last month.

How three terrorist groups formed the Israeli Defence Forces | The Big Picture

Before the formation of the Israel Defense Forces in 1948, there were three underground Zionist militias - The Haganah, the Irgun and the Lehi.

They differed in tactics and beliefs, and at times fought with each other - but together they terrorised Palestinian villages and executed attacks and bombings against the British to force them to give up control of the land.

Answer: In Judaism, as in many other religions, every human in the world is obligated to follow G-d's commandments.

However, in Judaism, unlike many other religions, not everyone in the world is obligated to follow the same set of commandments.

Judaism believes that Noah's covenant with G-d in Genesis 9 established the 7 "Noahide Laws" that all humanity must follow.

About 800 years later, an additional (not "new") covenant of 613 commandments, called the Torah, was offered by G-d at Mt. Sinai to the people whom Moses led out of Egypt, who willingly accepted it (per Exodus 19).

Jewish tradition teaches that not only the assembled at Mt. Sinai accept the Torah, but also many as-yet unborn souls.
Those souls are identifiable when they are born because they will be born to Jewish mothers. Anyone not born to a Jewish mother can accept the Torah at will.

This covenant created not only a new relationship between G-d and His new "recruits," but also between the recruits themselves. It created a collective - an "umah" - the Jews. The obligation to fulfill the Torah is what makes someone Jewish.

Those who have to fulfill the 7 Noahide laws are non-Jews.

This is why Judaism does not proselytize. Unlike other religions, you do not have to be Jewish to serve G-d. Non-Jews also serve G-d through the 7 Noahide laws, and they have no obligation to accept the Torah in toto if they choose not to.

Non-Jews do not burn in Hell according to the Torah. On the contrary, they get rewarded in the Afterlife for fulfilling the 7 Noahide laws. (However, as is often the case, reward is commensurate with responsibility,

so Jews who fulfill their obligations get more reward.) So the first religious category in Judaism, in which the word "Jew" is included, refers to *obligations*.

Those who are obligated to fulfill 613 commandments are Jews even if they do not fulfill them and even if they do not believe they are obligated. This is why we call atheist Jews Jews. In Judaism,

Jews who convert to another religion are called Jews as well for the same reason. According to the Torah, they are still obligated to fulfill the 613.

However, there is a second religious classification, which describes the standing of those who are obligated to fulfill the Torah.

Here we have words such as צדיק (pious), רשע (wicked), and כופר ("kofer" i.e. denier). A kofer denies the Torah, i.e. he does not believe he is bound to it. Atheists are kofrim in Judaism, and indeed being in this category puts one outside the Jewish collective.

Although Jews are enjoined to get them to repent and to accept Judaism, because they are still obligated to fulfill the Torah, so long as they choose not to, they have the same Judaic status as non-Jews.

Their being Jewish means they are obligated to fulfill the 613, not just the 7 Noahide laws. If they repent, we accept them with open arms. But so long as they choose not to, they are treated for all other practical purposes as non-Jews.

Caveat: Nowadays, many kofrim don't even know what Judaism is (e.g. many think it is Zionism!). Their denial is not deliberate but accidental (if someone thinks Judaism means Zionism, can you blame him for not wanting to be Jewish??). Such a person is still a denier, but not a purposeful one.

Their status is a bit more complex and beyond the scope of this post. Important caveat: This is just a Twitter-sized explanation, designed as a general idea of why we call atheist Jews Jews. It is not designed to be a full-blown explication on the subject. Source
