Starmer reverses BREXIT before his EXIT
    (17:05)
I don't know why I'm so annnoyed about Starmer taking the UK back into the EU because that's what he was always going to do. We knew it would happen as soon as the Referendum vote was announced.

But the knives are now out for Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting is limbering up in the wings for more of the same.

As far as the rumours are concerned, there have been quite a few in recent weeks about Starmer's sexuality together with the amount of donations to the Labour Party from Baron Ali, but I was unaware of rumours circulating regarding Keir Starmer and Ukraine until The Duran discussed it in this video, not that we haven't all had our suspicions.

So where's Nigel Farage? Why, he's on holiday, just as he went fishing after the Referendum result in 2016. Sigh . . . British Politics remains a depressing and embarrassing sh*t show.

BBC TV Licence Fee to be added to Council Tax Bill
It hasn't been made law YET, but has been suggested by Culture Secretary, Lisa Nandy, that the UK TV Licence fee should be added to the annual Council Tax bill, which would effectively end the option to opt out of paying it. This would make non-payment a tax matter and not a criminal offence, as it is now. The idea is being studied as part of the BBC Charter Review which runs until the end of 2027.

I expect Ms Nandy pinched this great idea from her EU friends in Germany which was adopted in 2013 and where enforcement of payment is strict. It's considered to be a benefit to the public, either directly or indirectly regardless of whether it's actually viewed.

This probably hinges on how many people opt out of paying the licence fee between now and 2027. At the moment we still pay ours but hardly ever watch TV these days and never the BBC. It's also been rumoured that the licence fee will be increased as a result of the £m losses caused by people opting out.

Nigel Farage’ pledged in 2024 that Reform will scrap both the licence and the corporation. As the Labour government seem to be adopting some of Reform's ideas, it'll be interesting to see whether they adopt this one. I don't think so.

No further proof needed that the BBC is a propaganda tool for the government. I remember seeing on Wikipedia many years ago that the BBC was named MI18 (propaganda) during WW2, which has now been "edited".

I saw a discussion ( years ago ) on a forum that music and media professionals used about an idea that had been considered at high levels to make the BBC the gate-keeper to the internet for Britain.

After so many years, since, I'd assumed the idea never went anywhere.

This move to put the TV licence in the hands of a political body seems to me to be a move to make progress with that old idea.

No TV licence, no internet ?

Thanks - a good educational piece about the 'Brit Card' from Bev Turner above ^^^

So many people have no idea where something like this could (will) lead - and more than that... are resistant to looking at the changes afoot that will fundamentally change everything - and create a digital prison situation - - but you have to have knowledge of the 'Big Picture' to even begin to understand ... and the perpetrators of the authoritarian digital system control the Main Stream Media..... so they will avoid letting the cat out of the bag for as long as they possibly can..... :/

I know you know this.... just making a general comment... :-)

Parliament’s Economic Affairs Committee described a UK CBDC as a “solution in search of a problem”

    --------------

BigBrotherWatch have released their report on CDBCs, published today.

BIG BANK IS WATCHING YOU | Preserving Privacy Amid the Rise of CBDCs

    Link to PDF: https://bigbrotherwatch.org.uk/wp-co...e-of-CBDCs.pdf

    Excerpted from the introduction:
Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) are a digital form of public money that is issued and guaranteed by the state. They are playing an increasingly prominent role in economic policy debates around the world as governments grapple with the decline of cash and explore the use of a new kind of money.

As of February 2025, 134 countries and currency unions were exploring CBDCs, with 66 in the development, pilot, or launch phase.1

In the UK, the Bank of England and His Majesty’s Treasury (HM Treasury) are investigating the development of a CBDC, ostensibly in response to a decline in the use of cash and the development of new forms of money that could pose risks to financial stability.2

The rationale is that if less physical cash is in circulation, the amount of state-backed money in circulation reduces, thereby increasing the potential of scenarios where private money providers (like banks or cryptocurrency issuers) are unable to meet people’s demands, causing a financial crisis. Therefore, the central bank is considering a digital state-backed currency as an alternative to cash, so that the public is not entirely reliant on private forms of money and the Bank of England can meet the demands of consumers who are increasingly turning their backs on cash.

However, it is not clear why the development of a CBDC would be preferable to policies encouraging the continued use of cash for this purpose, as a recent Treasury Committee on The Acceptance of Cash recommended and several MPs urged in an Early Day Motion.3

There are two key challenges relevant to policymakers considering a CBDC: first, the question of whether to issue a digital pound (the ‘why’); and second, if so, how to ensure it serves a public benefit (the ‘how’), which includes preserving privacy and user control. The question of how to design a CBDC is contingent on the Bank of England and HM Treasury making a convincing case for why one is needed – a case they have yet to provide, which indeed remains elusive. A report from Parliament’s Economic Affairs Committee described a UK CBDC as a “solution in search of a problem”,4 and former MP for South Cambridgeshire, Anthony Browne, rightly stated in a February 2023 Treasury Committee evidence-gathering session that there is “no specific problem” that a UK CBDC would solve.5

Can Farage be PM? | The Daily T
    44 minutes - Posted Jun 26, 2025

    Show notes
A major new YouGov poll has revealed that Reform UK would win the most seats of any party if a general election were held today, making Nigel Farage the leading contender to become the next prime minister.

Camilla and Tim are joined by journalist and broadcaster Fraser Nelson, who is fronting a new 'Dispatches' documentary – "Will Nigel Farage Be Prime Minister?" – at 8pm tonight on Channel 4.

Fraser explains why Farage has been so effective at mopping up disillusioned voters; his masterful use of social media; and how Labour and the Tories have paved the way for a Reform political earthquake.

    Who is Really In Control
    (16:14)
This is a really good video from June and if you have any friends who still don't get it - ARE there any left, I wonder - then this is the video to send them. There's nothing in it that we don't know already EXCEPT that whatever push back we're giving the insults heaped upon us is working, albeit in a small way but working nonetheless. We tend to report only the aggravating issues on this thread, and there's no end to them, but sometimes we should take a step back and see where we are to give ourselves some encouragement.
