What struck me was that right at the beginning of the conversation, after Daniel Liszt had pointed out the link existing between the “Roswell saga” and the “JFK assassination saga”, Joseph Farrell “corrected” him in a way saying it was not just an “appendix” to both sagas but an element that was “essential” to the explanation of both mysteries.

This implicit epistemological appreciation – which I like to call an “anti-Ockham’s razor” approach – is at the core of all truth-finding quests or research adventures. One has to make sure that one provides right from the start for the widest imaginable context for the explanation of the facts and never let out of sight those wider contexts: the answer one will come up with to explain the facts will never be of an “Ockham-razor clean” type (which will quite soon prove insufficient, and hence wrong) but of a “Popperian hypothesis” type, i.e. take on a form that provides for, and welcomes, adaptations to future facts that appear connected to the ones to be explained, and those facts will come from the wider context – redistributing the balance among the explanatory elements, and turning the previous “appendix” into the core and new “centre” of the explanation.

Such may be what the new facts Daniel Liszt came up with will inevitably lead to. If they are not suppressed, that is, whether by censorship, or by our insufficient contextualisation – which may have the same effect on our quest.

Canada’s top scientist releases new UFO report, here’s what you need to know

The Canadian government’s top scientist has released a new report on unidentified flying objects.

Published Monday, the report from the Office of the Chief Science Advisor of Canada recommends the creation of a new federal body to standardize, collect and investigate UFO reports.

“The mystery of unidentified phenomena in the sky has long fascinated humanity, capturing the public imagination and arousing both skepticism and curiosity,” the new report states. “Together, the analysis presented in this report suggests that Canada would benefit from an improved process for reporting, collecting, and studying UAP sightings.”


The acronym UAP stands for “unidentified aerial (or anomalous) phenomena,” which has largely replaced the terms “UFO” and “unidentified flying objects” in official circles. After decades of dismissal and denials, the unusual subject has become the focus of recent investigations by both the Pentagon and NASA.

Known as the Sky Canada Project, the Office of the Chief Science Advisor of Canada launched its UAP research effort in 2022 and released a preliminary report in January. Cardiovascular scientist Dr. Mona Nemer has been Canada’s chief science advisor since the role was created in 2017.

Tasked with providing impartial scientific advice to the government, Nemer reports directly to the prime minister and minister of innovation, science and industry.

“Our goal was to find the current resources and processes in place for handling and following up on UAP reports, to compare them with the best practices in other countries, and to make recommendations for potential improvements,” Nemer said in the new report’s introduction. “The preparation of this report has garnered more public anticipation than any project in the history of this office.”

Blaze Near Area 51

Just a wildfire, or is there something else out there? Conspiracy theories have been swirling since a blaze was reported near Area 51, in Nevada. Plumes of smoke were seen rising from deep inside the classified area. 
 
The fire has been confirmed to be a part of Gothic Fire, a lightning-sparked wildfire that has been raging in Nevada since July 4. Despite the assurance, conspiracy theorists have not shied away from speculating that it might be from a crashed experimental flight or a cover-up gone wrong. One person suggested evidence was being destroyed, while another suggested maybe people had finally stormed Area 51, referring to a 2019 trend where 500,000 people had committed to it. 

The fire is around 15 miles outside the military base, the Daily Star reported. It is currently sweeping over where the above-ground nuclear testing took place, that is, the Nevada Test Site, which lies 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
