The Colombian government is hosting an emergency ministerial meeting on how to stop the genocide in Gaza and end the occupation of Palestine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital, Bogotá, today and tomorrow.

30 governments from around the world—including China, Spain and Qatar—will take part in the meeting which aims to implement UN General Assembly motions on Israeli violations of international law.

This is interesting -- only for a couple of days. It already happened:

Quote Albanese called for each state to “immediately review and suspend all ties with Israel,” and called on governments to review the “military, strategic, political, diplomatic, economic relations—both imports and exports” with Israel and to “make sure that their private sector, insurers, banks, pension funds, universities, and other goods and services providers in the supply chains do the same.” Albanese has recently issued a report naming U.S. companies as complicit in Israel’s war.

“These ties must be terminated as a matter of urgency,” Albanese added. “Let’s be clear: I mean cutting ties with Israel, as a whole.”

“There is nothing to negotiate about. Israel needs to withdraw from Gaza totally and unconditionally,” Albanese told Drop Site News during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon when asked about the negotiations between Hamas and Israel. “This is the first thing. And then Israel owes huge reparations to Palestinians for what it has done,” she added.

Annelle Sheline, a former foreign affairs officer at the State Department who resigned in March 2024 over the slaughter in Gaza, is attending the week’s proceedings. In response to the attempt by the US State Department to bully participating countries at the emergency meeting of the Hague Group, she told Drop Site, “These are sovereign states who have every right to uphold their obligations as UN members, including under the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.” She added, “This is not the weaponization of international law. This is the application of international law.”

The countries represented at the emergency conference this week include Algeria, Bolivia, China, Brazil, Iraq, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Oman, Pakistan, Spain, Turkey, and Venezuela.

Other organizations, including international human rights groups and organizations advocating for Palestinian rights, are present such as the Hind Rajab Foundation. Notably, Qatar and Egypt, which are overseeing negotiations between Hamas and the Israeli government, are in attendance.

However, this takes a cloak-and-dagger twist, because whatever really went on in Bogota, they won't tell you:

Quote Some government officials will be meeting in private during the week for high-level negotiations. Government officials from several countries will all be meeting in closed-door sessions on Tuesday to discuss the Hague Group’s proposed measures. It is unclear what those proposed measures are...

I respect that. It's difficult and sensitive. Maybe they will tell us something tomorrow.

Iranian official claims Israel used jinn, dark arts and supernatural forces in Tehran conflict

A senior Iranian official has claimed that Israel deployed “the occult and supernatural spirits” during its recent 12-day war with Iran, according to Iran International. Abdollah Ganji, former editor of the IRGC-linked newspaper Javan and now an advisor to the mayor of Tehran, stated on X that a 'strange phenomenon' occurred during the conflict. “After the recent war, several pieces of paper were found on the streets of Tehran containing talismans with Jewish symbols,” Ganji wrote.

The claim follows earlier remarks from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who in 2020 alleged that 'hostile countries and Western and Hebrew intelligence services use occult sciences and jinn entities for espionage.' This quote was later removed from some official transcripts. During the conflict, which began with Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities on 13 June, Iran accused Israel of blending conventional attacks with alleged supernatural methods.

    Response from Israel
The Mossad’s official X account in Persian responded dismissively to Ganji’s claims: “Using drugs and talking to the jinn are not desirable traits for someone leading a country.” Israeli diplomat Waleed Gadban reposted the message, adding in Farsi: “Jinn, jinn are everywhere,” along with a ghost emoji.

The debate over jinn has a deeper history in Iranian political discourse. Clerics on Iranian state television have previously discussed the idea that Israel uses jinn for espionage. In March 2023, Quranic scholar Hojjat ol-Eslam Valiyollah Naghipourfar claimed that Iran’s intelligence services had thwarted Israeli infiltration efforts conducted via jinn. Some clerics treat these entities as literal threats; others, including modernist theologians, interpret them metaphorically.

    Strange patterns in the desert
Adding to the speculation, social media users circulated satellite images showing geometric patterns, including Stars of David and triangles, etched into a desert near an Iranian missile base. The origin of these markings remains unclear. Iranian authorities removed the symbols after they were discovered, but Gadban reposted an image with the caption: “We are closer to you than your jugular vein.”

Eyewitnesses Describe Brutal Killing of U.S. Citizen by Israeli Settlers in West Bank

We go to the occupied West Bank for an update on how the family of a 20-year-old Palestinian American from Florida, Sayfollah "Saif" Musallet, is demanding justice after he was beaten to death by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank.
Musallet and another Palestinian, 23-year-old Mohammad al-Shalabi, were attacked by a group of Israeli settlers on Friday in the town of Sinjil, northeast of Ramallah, where their families own farmland. Eyewitnesses say the settlers brutally beat Musallet and fatally shot al-Shalabi, then prevented ambulances from reaching their victims for hours. Musallet was pronounced dead before he could reach a hospital.

From Arnaud Bertrand re The Hague group,

To be expected, the U.S. is now issued open threats against this "Hague group" of countries seeking to put in place concreate measures against Israel.

A U.S. State Department spokesperson said that they “strongly opposes efforts by so-called ‘multilateral blocs’ to weaponize international law as a tool to advance radical anti-Western agendas. [The Hague Group] seeks to undermine the sovereignty of democratic nations by isolating and attempting to delegitimize Israel, transparently laying the groundwork for targeting the United States, our military and our allies.” Adding that the U.S. government, “will aggressively defend our interests, our military and our allies, including Israel, from such coordinated legal and diplomatic warfare. We urge our friends to stand with us in this critical endeavor.”

Wanting international law to actually apply is to "weaponize" it and having a "radical anti-Western agenda", apparently...

In the Islamic world in general extra- or intradimensional beings that appear to us and/or appear to pilot strange vehicles, manipulate strange devices are considered jinns. In whatever modern shape they appear they are considered to be the same as the jinns as existed already in pre-Islamic Arabian lore. (Cf. Jacques Vallée.)

The logic commands thus to call jinns our Visitors and call our Visitors jinns (singular jinn, plural ajnān in Arabic). It is logically and semantically nearly equivalent with the Christian calling them “demons” and their actions or devices “demonic” in the West.

After all, it is not without reason that one could call certain acts of the Zionist Antisemites “demonic”.

    https://www.moonofalabama.org/2025/0...ng-turkey.html

Israel's Bombing Of Damascus Is Aimed At Turkey

Today the Israeli air force bombed the capital of Syria, Damascus.

In late November 2024 al-Qaeda in Syria under former ISIS leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani (aka Ahmed al-Sharaa) set off to oust the Syrian government. He was backed by Qatar (financially), Turkey (militarily), the U.S. (intelligence wise) and Israel (propaganda).

After more than 11 years of war the Syria army was in a bad state. Pay was low while prices had risen sky high under sanctions. Many officers had been bribed by Qatar to stay put or change sides.

The Russian air force intervened against the Jihadi onslaught but, with no forces on the ground, could not stop their advances. Shia militia send by Iran from Iraq were bombed by U.S. jets while crossing the border. Eventually President Assad found that there was no army left to command and fled. The Syrian government broke down. The Jihadis conquered Damascus and have since ruled the country.

Syrian resistance against Israel ceased. Israel has since bombed what was left of the Syrian armies heavy equipment and missile forces. The country is no longer able to defend itself.

There are about 700,000 Druze living in Syria, southeast of Damascus, and in the Israel occupied Golan Heights. The Druze religion is an offshoot of Shia Islam but generally not accepted as Muslim.

After al-Qaeda took power in Syria the Israel army took additional Syrian territory near the Golan heights. It has tried to pull the Druze to its side:
Following the fall of the Assad regime, news were shared on social media to claim that the Druze population living in Hader, Quneitra Governorate of wishing to be under Israeli rule. This information, based on a non-verified video showing one individual expressing his opinion in a public gathering, has been repeated by mainstream media. The local leaders recorded a collective announcement on December 13, 2024, to deny these allegations and to denounce the Israeli occupation of their village. Syrian Druze leader Sheikh Hikmat al-Hijri denounced the Israeli invasion of Syria, stressing the need to maintain support for Syria's "social and territorial unity".
Throughout the last week there was increased strife between Jihadi Syrian government forces and Druze militia. Both sides had losses. The Israeli army intervened by bombing heavier equipment the Syrian government tried to bring near to the contact line.

There is no doubt that the strife between the Druze and Jihadis was provoked by Israel to proceed with its strategic plans of taking more land in Syria and Lebanon.

"Our Druze brothers in Israel: You can count on the Israel Defense Forces to protect your brothers in Syria. Prime Minister Netanyahu and I, as defense minister, have made a commitment, and we will uphold it,"
Today the Israeli air forces dropped bombs on the Syrian Ministry of Defense, near the presidential palace and in the Umayyad Square in the center of Damascus.

Translated from Hebrew by Grok To the best of my recollection, the last time the air force attacked the Syrian army’s general staff compound was during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. Today’s double strike was particularly powerful.
It’s hard to understand why Israel is intervening so deeply in Syria. With all due respect to the Druze community in Israel, which is outraged about the clashes between regime forces and the Druze—who, by the way, are themselves divided on whether Israel should intervene in the matter at all.
The answer may lie in the fact that Israel can, and is acting like the neighborhood bully. This, of course, reinforces the idea of Netanyahu, Katz, Likud, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich’s eternal war.
The real aim of the Israeli government is not to protect the Druze or even to subjugate the Jihadi government of Syria.

These are the opening shots of a war between the rivaling powers of the Zionist entity and Turkey:
As the distribution of power shifts in the region, with Iran losing relative power and Israel and Turkey emerging on top, an intensified rivalry between Tel Aviv and Ankara is not a question of if, but how. It is not a question of whether they choose the rivalry, but how they choose to react to it: through confrontation or peaceful management.
    ...
[A]s long as Israel believes its security can only come through militarily dominating all its neighbors that can pose a challenge to it — that is, those who have the capacity to do so regardless of whether they have the intent or not — then Turkey's emergence as a major power in the region will put it into Israel's crosshairs, whether it likes it or not. The forces of geopolitics cannot be eliminated. They can at best only be tamed.
Today Israel provided that the favored way of managing the rivalry with Turkey is by bombing its clients.

    Ankara ain't happy with that:
    Ragıp Soylu @ragipsoylu - 12:49 UTC · Jul 16, 2025 Turkish Foreign Ministry:
“Israeli attacks on central Damascus are an attempt to sabotage Syria's efforts to establish peace, stability, and security.
All stakeholders who support this opportunity should contribute to the Syrian Government's efforts to establish peace.”
Today's Syria is a client state of Turkey with al-Julani being the Turkish controlled regent.

While Turkey's wannabe Sultan Erdogan has publicly spoken out against Israel's genocide in Gaza he has silently cooperated with it by providing oil and other goods.

He probably thought that he could profit from the relation while ignoring the rivalry which is caused by the strategic expansion into the Levant both, Turkey and Israel, are seeking.

Today's strikes on Damascus might change his calculation.

Bodies of civilians, security forces found inside Syrian hospital after gunmen withdrew from Suwayda

Syria’s Health Ministry said Wednesday that dozens of civilians and security personnel were found dead inside the Suwayda National Hospital after armed groups it described as “outlaws” withdrew from the facility.

“Dozens of bodies were found in Suwayda National Hospital after the withdrawal of groups operating outside the law,” it said in a statement.

“Examination of the bodies revealed they belonged to members of the security forces and civilians inside the hospital,” it added.

The Defense Ministry said earlier that “armed outlaw groups” had taken up positions inside the hospital and deployed snipers on rooftops, where they targeted army forces.

Health Minister Musab al-Ali told the state-run SANA news agency that Israeli aircraft are preventing a medical convoy sent by the ministry from entering Suwayda, noting airstrikes are targeting any moving vehicle.

He said the convoy includes 15 ambulances staffed with medical teams, 10 surgeons from various specialties and two trucks with medications and medical supplies.

The Interior Ministry confirmed a new ceasefire agreement Wednesday in Suwayda, which includes full reintegration of the province under central government authority, according to SANA.

The deal was announced amid Israeli strikes targeting Damascus, Suwayda and Daraa in southwestern Syria.

The Israeli army claims the operations are to protect the Druze minority.

Clashes erupted between armed Druze militias and Bedouin groups in Suwayda after both sides reportedly seized vehicles from each other.

The Interior Ministry said more than 30 people have been killed and nearly 100 injured in the violence.

Quote Posted by Michel Leclerc (here)
In the Islamic world in general extra- or intradimensional beings that appear to us and/or appear to pilot strange vehicles, manipulate strange devices are considered jinns.

Judaism does not forbid dealing with demons; it forbids stars, nature, and sorcery.

By "demons", it means actual beings like shedu and other "monsters" that stalk the earth and are not necessarily "evil", but, allegedly, can be prompted to vicious action.

My small contact informs me that America has been under assault by Islamic jinn since Iraq II. So, this seems to be a normal middle eastern thing. I've never heard of any results.

So now Israel attacks Syria HTS, i. e., the guy who promised Syria would not impede Israel. But we know the Israelis are keen to defend somebody.

Druze call for an independent as Suwayda, obviously rejecting HTS:

Quote "We see the continuation of defense and fighting as a national, humanitarian and moral duty that cannot be compromised. There is no agreement or negotiation with the armed gangs that call themselves 'the government'."

They are not an offshoot of Shia, but, rather, the survival of Cairo Gnostics getting out while that was Islamicized.

The Bedouin are more likely to get foreign assistance because they are smugglers.

Afghan heroin will get to Rome somehow. They are like the Tuareg, perennially stateless, traders in ordinary commodities, but to some degree, each has a criminal underworld that is astounding.

If this paints HTS as much more of a Turkish asset, and, Turkey is coming out of a meeting what to "do" about Israel, what will this be?

It does, of course, host the main pipeline for Israeli fuel.

As I said, six months ago, someone should find a work-around so that industries can switch to other productive tasks, and so it will be difficult to come out of the meeting and just say "stop". I assume they have this capability, but have probably been asleep at the wheel.

Nothing is cognizable of the Syrian state and I would not venture that Syrian Peshmerga followed Ocalan's request to disarm the PKK. As long as there is an SDF, someone will oppose it.

Shas Party resigns from Israeli government.

This is what it sounds like when something is turned off:

Quote The world normative order collapsed not by war, but because of silence, indifference, and double-standard in the face of grave injustices, says Iran's foreign ministry spokesman.

"While the Special Rapporteur on #Palestine is bullied & sanctioned by the U.S., and the UN Palestine inquiry members resign en masse, this means that the international institutions are no longer tolerated to even record the truth," Esmaeil Baghaei wrote on X on Thursday morning.

"The mass resignation of the members of the UN Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, following the sanctioning of the Special Rapporteur on Palestine, should not be taken lightly; it is an alarming sign of the erosion of the global legal and normative order," he added.

The senior Iranian diplomat was referring to the sudden resignation of the three members of the UN commission investigating crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories.

"International institutions are giving up their legitimacy, effectiveness, authority, and 'sense of mission' to militant bullying & radical unilateralism," Baghaei underlined.

He concluded by saying that future generations would read that the world normative order collapsed not by war, but because of silence, indifference, and double standards in the face of grave injustices.

If justice is not rendered, more or less directly out of yesterday's meeting, they will probably start shooting again:

Quote A senior security official in Tehran has told RT that Iran is prepared to take action unless Israel is punished and the US provides compensation for its strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“If the compensation for the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities is not paid and the Zionist regime is not punished, Iran is ready to take measures to restore its historical deterrence against this regime,” the anonymous source said in an exclusive interview on Wednesday.

Addressing Washington’s request to resume nuclear talks, the official stated that Tehran had not agreed to a permanent ceasefire and considers negotiations premature.

He said that the Americans are pursuing the start of negotiations, but Iran… is in a state of temporary cessation of the conflict.

Yemen's attacks are not that destructive, but they are effective:

Quote The remarks came after the regime announced impending shutdown of the port in Eilat, as a mounting debt crisis -- driven by a naval blockade imposed by the forces as part of the solidarity campaign -- grinds the strategic outpost to a halt.

Officials admitted that the sustained blockade had effectively crippled activity at the port, once a critical artery for the regime’s maritime trade.

Concluding his statement, Saree reiterated the Armed Forces’ warning to all companies dealing with ports along the occupied Palestinian territories’ coastline that “their ships will be targeted in any area within reach, regardless of the ships’ destination.”

Turkey has evidently reduced its offerings:

Quote Turkey has condemned Israel's strikes against other regional countries, including Lebanon, Iran and Syria, while calling its military assault on Gaza a genocide. It has halted all trade and recalled its ambassador in Tel Aviv for consultations too.

But that doesn't quite answer for Ceyhan pipeline, which doesn't represent Turkish trade, because it is only transit.

Israel bombs Gaza’s only Catholic church sheltering elderly and children

Israeli forces have bombed Gaza’s only Catholic church, killing three people and wounding at least ten others, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem said, as the military continues its assault across the besieged enclave.

At least one person is in critical condition as a result of Thursday’s strike on the Church of the Latin Monastery in Gaza City – known as the Holy Family Church, the Patriarchate said in a statement. The church’s priest was also lightly wounded, it added.
Among those killed were the parish’s 60-year-old janitor and an 84-year-old woman who was receiving psychosocial support inside a Caritas tent in the church compound, according to the Catholic charity Caritas Jerusalem.

Footage of the Holy Family Church attack published by a Palestinian activist and verified by Al Jazeera shows Father Gabriel Romanelli, the church’s pastor, following the Israeli attack. The video shows the priest with his right leg bandaged but otherwise in good condition.

Pope Leo, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, said he was “deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and injury caused by the military attack” on the Gaza church, according to a telegram signed on his behalf by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s secretary of state.
Pope Leo “assures the parish priest, Father Gabriele Romanelli, and the whole parish community of his spiritual closeness”, the telegram said.
The pontiff renewed his “call for an immediate ceasefire, and he expresses his profound hope for dialogue, reconciliation and enduring peace in the region”.
His predecessor, the late Pope Francis, had held nightly calls with the church’s parishioners in a show of solidarity with them. The last call took place the day before he died in April.

This seems to be completely aside from the meeting in Colombia:

Quote Members of the Iranian Parliament’s Judiciary and Legal Committee have called on dozens of countries to work towards imposing sanctions on Israel over the regime’s “systematic violation of international rules and human rights.

In a letter sent to the parliaments of 44 states on Thursday, the lawmakers asked the legislatures’ legal committees to condemn last month’s illegal Israeli-US aggression against the Islamic Republic and notify the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) of their decision.

They also urged those parliaments to put on their agenda the legislative process for taking restrictive measures against the criminal Zionist regime.

“Likewise, the legal committees have been asked to place investigations into Israel’s crimes within the jurisdiction of their country's legal authorities, in order to prevent the impunity of the Zionist regime and the United States, and stop the Israeli warmongering in the world,” read the letter signed by Mohammad Sargazi, head of the Iranian Parliament’s Judiciary and Legal Committee.

That's interesting they are asking for legislation rather than a quicker executive order such as the imperialist U. S. favors.

No one seems to bother with the option to declare war. It's just a bunch of actions. So far there is comparably inaction on hardline issues such as Colombia's refusal to provide coal. Can thirty or forty non-Zionist countries swing this around? I don't know. I don't know if much has been tried yet. It hasn't worked.

There is no ‘genocide’ in Gaza — why the claim equals Holocaust denial
    By Alan Dershowitz
    Published July 15, 2025, 4:46 p.m. ET
    https://nypost.com/2025/07/15/opinio...nkCdwU9DrUfKlQ

has become fashionable among anti-Israel zealots — including hard-left academics — to use the term “genocide” to characterize Israel’s response to the murder, rape, beheadings and kidnapping of more than 1,400 innocent Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023.

Self-proclaimed “genocide scholar” Omer Barton wrote in The New York Times this week that he knows genocide when he sees it, and he sees it in Gaza. (Not in Israel on Oct. 7, though).

The king of Jordan accused Israel of genocide on Monday, following the lead of the UN rapporteur on Palestine.

The label will no doubt be a central part of campus rallies this fall.

But this accusation is false as a matter of fact, morality, logic and law — and a dangerous distortion of history that amounts to Holocaust denial.

It trivializes the powerful term “genocide” and applies it to nearly every war fought by democracies during the last century, especially those directed against terrorism and other forms of modern asymmetrical warfare.

By doing so, it encourages terrorism and emboldens terrorists who use civilian human shields to force their enemies into making tragic and deadly choices.

Most distressingly, it makes genocide a meaningless epithet to be invoked promiscuously by those opposed to particular wars or nations.

The Holocaust was the personification of genocide. Its expressed aim was the destruction of the entire Jewish race, wherever they were located.

Not only did the systematic mass murder of six million Jewish civilians serve no military purpose, on many occasions the Nazis actually compromised military goals to accomplish their non-military goal of murdering every baby who had a Jewish grandparent.

They went so far as to ingather Jews from areas that were not military targets and transfer them to death camps.

These willful and systematic efforts to exterminate an entire “race” bears absolutely no relationship to what Israel is doing in Gaza: Every civilian death in Gaza is collateral to achieving legitimate military goals.

Even those who believe that Israel has gone too far in killing a disproportionate number of Palestinian civilians must acknowledge that Israeli actions do not parallel the gas chambers and mobile killing units that characterized the Nazi genocide.

To compare these two very different efforts is to suggest one of two possible conclusions: Either the Nazis did not employ gas chambers and other systematic methods of deliberately murdering every Jew they could find; or the Israeli government’s military campaign is morally indistinguishable from the Nazi death camps.

What Israel is doing is in no way comparable to the genocide planned and implemented at the Wannsee Conference of 1942.

It is comparable, though not in degree, to the hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths caused by American and British military actions following D-Day — including firebombing Dresden, Berlin and Tokyo and dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

These military attacks were designed to destroy Nazism, defeat the armies that had started World War II and prevent a recurrence — just as Israel’s actions in Gaza are designed to destroy Hamas and prevent a recurrence of Oct. 7.

If anything, the allied bombings were worse: They were not directed primarily at military targets, but at civilian populations in an effort to demoralize them and to get them to demand surrender.

The number and proportion of civilian casualties in those Allied operations well exceeded even the exaggerated numbers provided by the Hamas health authorities.

In other words, accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza constitutes a false claim that the United States did practiced it, too, in the heroic battle to defeat Nazi Germany and imperial Japan.

So did many other nations that have waged wars since the end of World War II.

We may still compare and contrast what Israel is doing now to what the Allies did then. Any such comparison favors Israel.

Consider the ratio of civilian to combatant deaths, which is lower for Israel than for any army facing comparable enemies — especially those using civilians as human shields to protect their combatants.

In addition to bragging about using civilians as martyrs, Hamas hides its terrorists in protected tunnels while requiring civilians to remain above ground and vulnerable to attack.

Israel gains nothing and loses much whenever it kills a civilian in the course of trying to neutralize terrorists — but Hamas gains sympathy every time Israel accidentally kills a civilian, especially a child.

That is the Hamas strategy, and those who falsely accuse Israel of genocide incentivize the continuing use of this murderous gambit.
