In the first centuries of Christianity, all priests were called popes. But starting from the 7th century, the title of "pope" was given exclusively to the Roman bishop, since Rome was the capital of the world, and therefore both the church and the clergy should have more power than everyone else.
The official title of the pope is "Great Pontiff". The Pontiff in Ancient Rome is a member of the highest college of priests, which managed all religious affairs.
So, the powers of the Pope of Rome apply not only to matters of faith and morality, but also to governance and do not depend on secular authorities.
Only he has jurisdiction over members of the clergy who are accused of criminal offenses. The Pope in Catholicism is the sinless vicar of God on Earth.

And it's all about power and in dogmatic disagreements. The fact is that the church had enormous power, and when the Roman Empire was disintegrating, the issue of power became the stumbling block that divided the church into Orthodox and Catholics in 1054.
The Roman priests claimed to lead the entire Christian world, and the Byzantines, the eastern part of the Roman Empire, did not want to recognize their primacy.
The schism still exists. The Orthodox reject papal primacy, believing that it can only be “first among equals.” In their opinion, Jesus gave power to all the apostles, and the foundation of the Church was not the person of Peter, but his confession of faith.
That is, the Western approach is authoritarian, and the Eastern one, which Russia joined in 988, is democratic and correct from the point of view of Christ's teaching.

The average person associates the Pope with something spiritual, holy, good, kind. He is supposedly a follower of the Apostle Peter. But this is only, so to speak, a wrapper.

Orthodox churches do not recognize the supremacy of the pope, because they believe that absolute power in the church belongs only to Jesus Christ, and the highest authority in the earthly church is possessed by the council.
Before the split of the church into Catholic and Orthodox, several holy popes were venerated, who are equally venerated by both faiths. Among them are Clement I, Gregory I the Great, Leo IX and Martin I. And these were truly righteous people who would be horrified by what kind of Popes would occupy their throne in the future and that they would cause a great schism between Christians. It is also worth mentioning the methods by which the Catholic Church fought for the faith. Of course, they are also difficult to consider normal. For example, the Crusades against dissenters, which lasted for four centuries. The number of deaths is difficult to estimate, but they say the figure is from 1 million people. This is what the desire to subjugate other lands and establish one's influence leads to.
In the 13th century, the Inquisition was officially added to the campaigns, which allowed the torture of those suspected of heresy, i.e., of deviating from the rules of faith, which were considered the only correct ones.
And all this cruelty took place with the papal instigation.
In addition, the popes were not averse to remitting sins for money. So they granted indulgences to those who participated in the Crusades. Those who could not go to war were offered to pay a certain amount. Later, indulgences were given to those who donated to the construction of St. Peter's Cathedral.
In general, it was the sinfulness of the pontiffs that became one of the reasons for the emergence of Protestantism. That is, some people looked at what the papal institution was doing and said: "Oh my! We'd better come up with something of our own." Thus Martin Luther created his own personal church with his own understanding and heresy, abolishing all the sacraments and liturgies that had a centuries-old history, instead of joining the true One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ (Orthodox Church).
In addition, the Popes, like the leaders of other countries, started wars in Europe.
Thus Pope Gregory IX was the first to start a war against Emperor Frederick, as a result of which Frederick renounced his power over the church and affirmed papal rights.
The popes wanted to be above the kings so much that they came up with the doctrine of two swords, according to which there are two powers in the state - spiritual and secular, and both are in the hands of the pope. But they transfer the secular to the emperor, whom they anoint to the kingdom.
Based on this, only the Pope can appoint and overthrow rulers. Even by force.

But after a series of wars in 1506, a detachment of Swiss mercenaries was created - some of the best warriors on the continent at that time. The Swiss Guard, about 100 people, still serves the Vatican.
The Papal States existed until Italy decided to unite. Specifically, until 1870, when troops entered Rome and put an end to a thousand years of papal power.
The offended pope stubbornly refused to put up with this. He declared himself a moral prisoner and locked himself in the Vatican Cathedral. This continued for almost 50 years, until the fascists led by Mussolini came to power in Italy.

In response, the Church became an ally of the fascist party on many fronts and forbade parishioners from supporting the Communists.
In 1930, the Pope proclaimed a crusade against the godless USSR.

In 1933, when Hitler came to power, a treaty was concluded between the Holy See and Germany, according to which the Vatican was granted freedom in resolving church issues.
Thus, the Holy See supported the fascist regime.
In essence, the Pope made a deal with the devil, because Nazi ideology and Christian values are incompatible.
The Holy See justified itself by saying that it had to choose: either agree or put the church in the Reich under threat of destruction.
In 1939, Pius XII became Pope, even more loyal to the fascist regime. He is also called Hitler's Pope. US President Franklin Roosevelt tried to convince Pius to declare Germany an aggressor. But he refused under the pretext that he could not interfere in international politics.

Of course, Pius expressed concern about racially motivated killings. And he even allowed churches to cautiously help Jews.

"City of Man" is one of the key definitions of the Illuminati regarding the world dictatorship. On April 18, 1983, the Pope received the entire "TRIPARTITE COMMISSION", approximately 200 people in an open audiences.
This secret organization was founded in June 1973 by David Rockefeller and Zbigniew Brzezinski, because such structured organizations as, for example, the UN, turned out to be too slow in establishing a "World Government". This elite organization set itself the task of uniting all the major forces of the economic and industrial giants, the so-called trilateral nations - the United States, Japan and Western Europe - to force the final establishment of the "New World Order".
As J.V. Helsing testifies, it was "During the Second World War, the Catholic Church was heavily infiltrated by other secret lodges. Among others, these were the OSS (the predecessor of the CIA), MI 6, members of the Italian "BLACK NOBILITY", Freemasons and the P-2 (Propaganda-2) lodge, all of which were under the cover of the "Committee 300".
Lodge P-2 is the most powerful Italian lodge of Freemasons. It incorporated the "GRAND LODGE OF THE VATICAN", which initiated the "P-2 Scandal" in 1976, since the Vatican compiled a list of lodge members with the names and dates of entry of 121 high hierarchs of the Church, among whom were cardinals of the curia, archbishops, bishops, prelates and laymen. Instead of holding accountable the people mentioned in this list, a real witch hunt was organized, persecuting those who published this list. Any comments seem superfluous.
Among the names mentioned there was the name of the cardinal, Secretary of State Jean Villot, Vatican Foreign Minister Agostino Casaroli. Cardinal Sebastiano Baggio, Cardinal Ugo Poletti and the head of the Vatican Bank Bishop Paul Marcinkus.
The Illuminati, as already mentioned, support both sides when several countries are involved in a war. By the end of World War II, this was revealed in all its openness. Allen Dulles (Director of the CIA), for example, held secret meetings with the head of the SS Gehlen.
The necessary steps were taken to transport SS officers to Switzerland under the cover of the Catholic Church. Some SS officers took priestly orders and were sent to other countries, mainly Argentina, Paraguay and the USA.
After the war, Gehlen was given the task of organizing the work of "RADIO STATION FREE EUROPE". A significant part of the SS members were accepted directly into the ranks of the CIA after the war.
Another interesting member of the "Committee 300" was Joseph Retinger (Ratzinger?). After the war, with the support of the CIA, he tried to conclude treaties with the Vatican. In this matter, he managed to win over Dr. Luigi Gedda, medical adviser to Pope Pius XII, at the same time the head of Catholic activities. With Gedda's help, he was able to strengthen contacts with Pope Pius XII for the future, which had already been discussed between him and the OSS (Office of Strategic Services), the predecessor of the CIA.
Retinger also met with Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, with the Italian Prime Minister, Colin Grubbin, director of SOE (Special Operations Branch, British Secret Service) and with the Director of the CIA, General Walter Bedell.
PRINCE BERNHARD had been a member of the SS before the war and in this capacity was assigned to serve in I. G. Farben. He later married a Lister-Biesterfeld and accepted an offer of a position with Shell Oil. This group was the core that met in May 1954 at the Hotel De Bilderberg in Oosterbeek, Holland, and later became known as the "BILDERBERGER" group.
A member of the "Committee 300", Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands became the first leader of the Bilderberg group (explained later).
One of the CIA men who had great influence on the Catholic Church was Cardinal Spellman. Incidentally, it was Spellman who helped the CIA overthrow the democratic government in Guatemala in 1954. Spellman was also the man who introduced Father Paul Marcinkus of Chicago to the Pope.
In 1971, Marcinkus became an archbishop and director of the VATICAN BANK. Marcinkus also maintained close ties with P2 Masonic lodge members Michele Sindona and Roberto Calvi. P2 Grandmaster was Licio Gelli. Calvi Director of the VATICAN BANK AMBROSIANO, helped the Vatican transfer over $100 million in aid to the Polish Solidarity movement.
Some time later, he was involved in a serious scandal with the Banca Ambrosiano. In 1982, Calvi's body was found hanged on the Blackfriars Bridge in London. He had a brick in his right and left pockets, and his legs were tied at right angles. This is exactly what a ritual murder of Freemasons looked like. This special sign, however, was not mentioned in the newspapers.
Sindona was an adviser to the Vatican Bank. Lodge P-2 was closely connected with the Vatican, Opus Dei and the CIA. Lodge P-2 also had many members who occupied high positions in the Italian government.
In January 1966, the magazine "Look" published an article:
"How the Jews are changing the way the Catholic Church thinks." It described in detail the secret meetings of the Jewish lodge B'Nai B'rith with Cardinal Bea, who represented the Catholic Church. The Vatican is supposedly the richest organization in the world. A significant part of its assets are held in the Rothschild banks. There is no doubt that the actual power in the Vatican was seized many years ago by the "Committee of 300". This explains why Bush, Gorbachev and other world leaders visit the Pope so often.
These few examples are only the very tip of the "Vatican iceberg". Another example was the assassination of Pope John XXIII, whose death notice in the Mexican newspaper "El Informador", owned by the West Mexican Lodge of Freemasons, by an oversight, appeared a whole day before the event itself! (Published June 3, 1963, Pope John died June 3, 1963, at 7:49 p.m.

As W. Cooper points out (X.23, Ch.2): "The Vatican established the Center for Prayer and Teaching for Peace on Ocean Avenue, Springlake, New Jersey in a mansion overlooking the ocean. The mansion was given from the estate of Elmer Bost, who died in 1978. Bost was a multimillionaire and director of the Warner Lambert Company. Richard Nixon was a frequent visitor to the center. The directors of the center were: Kurt Walheim, former Secretary General of the United Nations and a war criminal of World War II; Cyrus Vanes, former Secretary of State under Carter and a member of the Council of Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission; Clare Luce, Lady of the Knights Malta; Peter Grace, who is the head of the Knights of Malta in the United States.
The center was founded by the Vatican as part of the Pope's reconciliation plan (see the chapter "Secret Government"). The center had two purposes:
1) To educate Catholics and their children in the spirit of maintaining the New World Order
2) To house a computer center to solve global problems of the world and any problems that could threaten peace on Earth. The computer was connected via satellite to the capitals of the world. All nations agreed to give sovereignty to the Pope and entrust the solution of problems to the computer. Of course, all this will not have the desired effect until the New World Order is announced. I think that the New World Order was born in secret on January 19, 1989. Now you know.
Familiarize yourself with the teachings of Christ. Compare His teachings with the dogmas of the Illuminati, and then try to compare them with the following. The Vatican has stated several times that "The Pope is for universal disarmament; the Pope is for the abolition of the sovereignty of national state entities; the Pope says that human rights are not really rights in their essence; the Pope believes that only the Vatican knows what man needs. The Los Angeles Times of December 12, 1984, printed the words of Pope John Paul II: “Don’t go to God for forgiveness of sins, come to me for it.” The Pope has committed blasphemy, therefore the prophecy of the Apocalypse is being fulfilled. The Pope tells us THAT HE IS God! “Pope John Paul II is especially concerned about achieving his goal. The goal is to unite Christendom under the rule of the Pope. If at all possible, the Pope wants to achieve his goal by the end of this century. This is one of the main reasons for the Pope’s numerous trips around the world.” (from an article by G.
