    Default Thailand bombs China's ally Cambodia

    Thailand has Airstriked China's ally Cambodia.

    Us meddling in Thailand?

    Is this another one of the US's tricks out of hat? Since Cambodia is an Ally of China, is this a way to try and drag China into a war with Thailand?

    I would not be surprised if so, isn't it all coincidental that countries opposing these Psychopaths are suddenly seeing troubles on their borders or with Allies of theirs?

    Or is this China trolling the US by proxy?

    Quote In 2022, Thailand and the US signed a communique on "strategic alliance and partnership".
    I see no such happenings as coincidental anymore, especially not these days.

    Quite an interesting site listing Thai / Cambodian Border History from 1953 to 1999. It even has a list of the various NGO's to have 'assisted' from time to time.

    From Brian Berletic,

    🇹🇭🇰🇭On the Recent Thailand-Cambodia Conflict - Details the Western Media Won't Report

    ▪️Following Thai soldiers injured by Cambodian-placed mines along a disputed border and downgraded diplomatic ties, Cambodia has launched Grad MLRS strikes (video) on populated areas causing indiscriminate death and destruction;

    ▪️Grad rockets are not precision-guided weapons - they cause indiscriminate destruction across general areas being targeted - it was impossible for Cambodia to fire these into populated areas and not expect civilian casualties;

    ▪️Thai forces are responding with greater but still measured force against Cambodian military targets near disputed areas - Thailand's military is several times larger in size than Cambodia's and possesses vastly greater capabilities than Cambodia calling into further suspicion Cambodia's provocative actions;

    ▪️Western media is pretending not to know who started the shooting and is deliberately trying to link China to Cambodia and its actions - however - Thailand has a by far larger relationship with China than Cambodia and by far greater amounts of modern weapons from China than Cambodia including a Chinese main battle tank fleet, long-range precision guided rocket launchers, drones, APCs/IFVs, and Chinese air defense systems;

    ▪️This border dispute has erupted into violence over the past years (2008 and 2011) - at both previous junctures US-backed client regimes were either struggling to stay in power or were attempting to get into power - and now fighting has begun again as a US-backed client regime is likewise hanging in the balance;

    ▪️Cambodian PM Hun Sen, while having a growing relationship with China and having been targeted by US-backed regime change himself, has systematically aided US-backed sedition in neighboring Thailand for 20 years - Cambodia also maintains the US as its largest and most important export market - an outlier in Southeast Asia which mostly exports to China and others in the region;

    ▪️Like every other conflict around the globe, people need to be cautious about accepting Western news reports at face value - this will NOT be the "first" conflict they report on honestly and without ulterior motives;

    ▪️The conflict ultimately only serves the interests of the US which seeks to keep the region (and the world) divided and unstable, Cambodia - a smaller, weaker nation provoking conflict (like Georgia attacking Russia in 2008) seems a textbook case of deliberate divide and destroy and an opportunity to pin US-created strife on China, if even indirectly;

    🇹🇭🇰🇭 External Factors Regarding Thai-Cambodian Conflict ...

    ▪️While ASEAN is growing closer to China, Thailand has done so to a greater extent than Cambodia;

    ▪️Look at this 2023 summary of Thai and Cambodian exports per partner - Thai exports are around 18% (14% China, 4% Hong Kong which is still China) while exports to the US are 16%. The majority of Thai exports are to other destinations in Asia;

    ▪️Cambodian exports are overwhelmingly dependent on the US and the West in general with a minority of exports going to other nations within Asia itself - the US dollar itself is used for transactions INSIDE Cambodia itself;

    ▪️While not an absolute metric, this economic dependence on the US manifests itself in Washington's ability to pressure, coerce, and otherwise shape policies of a target nation;

    ▪️Cambodia has worked to reverse this - but as can be seen, US influence over Cambodia is still significant - this is in addition to US political interference which is extensive in both Thailand & Cambodia;

    🇹🇭🇰🇭 Border Crisis Escalates

    Tensions between Thailand and Cambodia have exploded following a landmine incident that severely injured a Thai soldier near their disputed border.

    🇹🇭 Thailand:
    — Recalled its ambassador from Phnom Penh
    — Expelled Cambodia’s envoy
    — Downgraded ties
    — Military drafting contingency war plans

    🇰🇭 Cambodia:
    — Downgraded relations to Second Charge d’Affaires
    — Ordered all diplomatic staff in Bangkok to return
    — Accused Thailand of “baseless accusations” and escalating the crisis instead of negotiating

    Embassies in both capitals are now operating at the lowest diplomatic level. Tensions remain volatile.

    🇹🇭🇰🇭 Why are Thailand and Cambodia fighting?

    This week’s clashes between Thai and Cambodian forces near the Ta Muen Thom and Ta Kwai temples are the latest flare-up in a century-old border dispute dating back to French colonial rule.

    The Conflict Zone: The disputed areas lie in Surin Province (Thailand) and Oddar Meanchey Province (Cambodia), near the Dangrek Mountains. Both Ta Muen Thom and Preah Vihear are ancient Khmer temples that sit directly on or near the border.

    A Colonial Legacy: France drew the original border in the early 1900s, favoring Cambodia. Thailand contests these lines, especially in areas where the watershed boundary doesn’t match the temple locations.

    Key Flashpoints:
    Preah Vihear: In 1962, the ICJ ruled in Cambodia’s favor, giving it sovereignty over the temple but Thailand still disputes the surrounding land.
    Ta Muen Thom & Ta Kwai: Thailand maintains that these temples are on its soil. Cambodia disagrees and has stationed troops nearby for years.

    Today’s Escalation: Clashes erupted after a Thai soldier was wounded by a landmine, prompting artillery fire, RPG launches, and reported F-16 strikes on Cambodian positions. Both sides have now downgraded diplomatic relations, expelled ambassadors, and closed borders.

    In other words, this isn’t a new war, and tensions here have been building exponentionally since May.

    🇹🇭🇰🇭 Thailand has officially closed all border crossings with Cambodia amid escalating military tensions and continued clashes along the disputed frontier.

    The closures affect trade routes, civilian crossings, and emergency aid corridors, signaling a serious deterioration in bilateral relations.

    🇰🇭🇹🇭 Mass Evacuation Underway: Thai citizens in the border zone are evacuating en masse as Cambodian forces continue launching GRAD rockets into Thai territory.

    ➡️ Between 30,000 and 40,000+ people have reportedly been evacuated so far, with many taking shelter in emergency facilities amid ongoing cross-border artillery strikes.

    More updates to follow.

    🇰🇭🇹🇭 Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen has posted images from inside his war room, declaring he will “not flee” as fighting with Thailand intensifies.

    He used the occasion to blast Thai politicians and journalists—calling them cowards and provocateurs.

    The photos have already been geolocated and circulated among Thai forces.

    China does not have many friends in that Southeast Asian region, and Cambodia is her closest ally. The friendship for the other countries is based mainly on economic ties rather than strategy. On the other hand, Thailand is a very close ally of US. Its arsenal like F16 is American and joint military exercises have been conducted. Clearly a conflict between Thailand and Cambodia is not accidental and nothing like a dispute on some ancient temple. It is obviously a proxy war instigated by US. So we have proxy wars in Europe and Asia. A good trigger for WWIII. I have heard a prophecy that said WWIII would start in an unexpected region. This region is certainly unexpected.

    It's very likely they're behind this, it seems that more People are on that page reading.

    They've corrupted Thai elections, last elections, as well as far as rumours go, to be honest, it all seems like they're playbook. They had Abe (did not want to abandon Pacifism completely) killed in Japan with their famous assassin plot, some extreme loner managing getting through all kinds of security with some weapon. These loners are apparently picked out, have a single handler no one knows of and are groomed for that one kill.

    These proxy wars basically follow similar rules. They buy off (groom) some idiot sociopath, create a coalition before striking their targets (could be anything from economic through to wars), this scheme failed in Hungary and in Turkey, despite them poisoning Erdogan.

    One could also argue that WOIII has already started by proxy, it is only a matter of time before "the Plan" unfolds and the West is attacked on all fronts (like my 2017 scenario dictates).

    Concluding all are waiting on China to be ready and able to go into Taiwan.

    🇹🇭🇰🇭NEW VIDEO: Thai-Cambodian Conflict: Who Benefits from Regional Chaos?
    On YouTube: https://youtu.be/3vpN5q2Zkmg?si=unsFNutIOCzX7cbv

    ▪️Thailand and Cambodia exchange heavy fire along border region over disputed territory - the latest of a long-term dispute stretching back to French colonization of Cambodia;

    ▪️Despite the long-term nature of the dispute, actual clashes are rare and used opportunistically rather than as a genuine source of conflict;

    ▪️Despite Cold War myths, Thailand in recent years has developed a larger and deeper relationship with China than the US and far more significant than Cambodia’s relationship with China;

    ▪️Cambodia depends on the US as its primary export market and uses US dollars as local currency, a regional outlier where most nations primarily do business with China and the rest of Asia;

    ▪️The current government of Thailand is headed by US-backed billionaire Thaksin Shinawatra (via his daughter), who is a close friend and collaborator with Cambodia’s Hun Sen;

    ▪️The conflict serves neither Thai nor Cambodian interests, and instead meshes into the US policy of “extending” targeted nations by creating a multitude of conflicts along its periphery - a strategy the US has used against Thailand, and has used against China by disrupting peace and prosperity in Southeast Asia in general;

    BBC being called out for such consistently wrong coverage it has to be deliberate.

    If the West is depicting Thailand as an aggressor, it gives clues as to who and why this conflict was provoked in the first place.

    2008 Georgia-Russia war vibes with Cambodia playing the role of Georgia.

    🇹🇭🇨🇳 Thai-Chinese Relations

    lazy OSINT bros are leaping to conclusions that Cambodia is aligned closer to China than Thailand - based mostly on data points from half a century ago.

    Ironically, this meshes with Western narratives trying to depict "China" as backing Cambodia's attacks on Thailand - all aimed at dividing and destroying Asia's rise.

    Let me update this for the 21st century:

    China is Thailand's largest import/export partner, largest source of investment and tourism, a key infrastructure partner including currently building Thailand's first high-speed rail line, 5G networks, and new rolling stock for existing metro lines...

    China has also helped Thailand replace its aging US military equipment including a fleet of modern VT4 main battle tanks (pictured below), 100s of infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers, a jointly-developed guided rocket system (DTI-1), joint drone programs, air defense systems (HQ-22, pictured below), and increasingly joint Thai-Chinese military drills to offset long-established US-Thai drills.

    China is building better ties with Cambodia - but the US still remains overwhelmingly Cambodia's most import export partner (35% of Cambodia's exports go to the US - more than all Asian destinations combined), and still uses US dollars for local transactions.

    Cambodia has faced intense US-backed efforts to coerce or even remove the current government and exercises tremendous leverage over Cambodia's political system. This is something I myself have reported on and tried to help raise awareness regarding to help ALL nations in the region throw off US coercion and control, but it is still a fact.

    Ultimately Cambodia working together with Thailand and the rest of ASEAN side-by-side China works in EVERYONE's interests - and this clash only serves to slow down or reverse this eventuality.

    Beware of lazy "analysts" making sweeping claims without providing details or evidence - telling you what you might want to hear or believe contrary to reality and facts.

    More info on Cambodia and its dependence on the US dollar as a domestic defacto currency...

    From Cambodian media itself:

    https://m.phnompenhpost.com/opinion/...ects-solutions

    Amazingly, even after seeing all the actual evidence regarding Thai and Cambodian ties with China and Cambodia's West Pont-educated PM and heavy economic dependence on the US, many lazy armchair ideologues insist on sticking with perceptions from half a century ago...

    🇹🇭🇰🇭FAKE NEWS: Claims Thailand "Invaded" Cambodia and "Struck First"

    This fake news featuring footage from a conflict a continent away (likely Su-25s in Ukraine neither Thailand nor Cambodia even have) gets major boost across X to push Western narratives.

    Cambodia fired indiscriminate grad rockets into a Thai community and Thailand responded with precision F-16 air strikes on Cambodian military targets.

    Thailand also employs a wide range of artillery, guided rockets, and drones capable of precise targeting and despite having a vastly larger and more powerful military, has used it in a very measured way.

    The Western media is trying to depict China as backing Cambodia in this conflict - while also depicting Thailand as having struck first - contradictory narratives it hopes audiences are too dim to see through.

    China has close ties with both nations but a much larger/deeper relationship with Thailand. ASEAN as a whole is growing rapidly together with China and the US seeks to disrupt this with internal political chaos and conflict between Southeast Asian nations as well as with China.

    Unity, harmony benefits ALL of Asia. Chaos benefits American hegemony. Keep this in mind when consuming Western media and the social media accounts aping their lies.

    Despite Elon Musk claiming to "free Twitter" it still serves as a major method of shaping narratives in the West's favor. https://x.com/twtSila7/statu/twtSila...73767169359978

    It's something without an answer after someone falling on a land mine:

    Quote Another incident was reported in the area of Nam Yuen in the same province on July 23, when a blast injured five Thai soldiers, with one also losing his leg.

    On July 24, the situation got out of control with clashes being reported along the entire length of the disputed frontier between Cambodia and Thailand.

    Thai military officials said that the clashes, involving small arms and heavy weapons, spread along the frontline affecting a total of six locations. This includes sites in Surin province, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.

    The violence began in the morning at the ancient, disputed Ta Muen Thom temple site in Surin, which is also claimed by Cambodia. Both countries accused their neighbor of firing the first shot.

    So, I mean, the "first shot" in this case is inscrutable, it's not some big airplane we can track on radar, it was something small that set off a fortified zone.

    In some cases, you might think a twig falling off a tree is someone shooting at you, and so there isn't really a "who started this".

    Siam and Khmer both are ancient, native cultures with their own web of relations, until hammered by a colonial map and dollar monetization, like most everyone else in the world, you don't know how to deal with that stuff when it comes knocking.

    As far as complicity or strategy, when we say "ally", link the defense pact please. I don't think China has any allies; most of those places don't.

    🇰🇭🇹🇭 The Thailand–Cambodia war isn’t just about temples. It’s a geopolitical fault line and the target may be China’s Pan-Asian Railway.

    Since July 24, artillery has fallen, airstrikes have escalated, and over 30 are dead. More than 170,000 have fled their homes. Thailand blames Cambodian incursions. Cambodia says it’s resisting Thai aggression. Trump has inserted himself as mediator, using trade threats and leverage, but the real stakes may lie beneath the tracks.

    China’s Belt and Road megaproject, the 6,000+ km Pan-Asian Railway, is set to transform Southeast Asia. High-speed lines are underway from Kunming to Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. The China–Laos line is operational. The China–Thailand line is under rapid construction, with the Bangkok–Nakhon leg on pace for 2026 and full connection to Nong Khai by 2030. Cambodia’s lines are next, linking Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok, and ultimately to China.

    But that junction, the Cambodia–Thailand border, is exactly where the war just broke out.

    China’s vision is seamless connectivity: freight, tourism, multipolar trade. A physical alternative to maritime chokepoints and Western control. But every nation along this railway tells a deeper story. Cambodia is a Chinese ally. Thailand is a U.S. treaty partner with joint military drills and weapons contracts. Myanmar’s China rail is frozen in conflict. Vietnam’s China line was delayed by Japanese failures and is now quietly being restarted by Chinese firms.

    Who benefits if the network stalls?

    In this context, the outbreak of war looks less like spontaneous escalation and more like disruption, a possible proxy move in the broader U.S.–China contest. Analysts have called it a “new Cold War flashpoint” in Southeast Asia. Western powers cannot match China’s infrastructure scale, but they can sabotage it. Stir conflict. Delay links. Keep ASEAN fragmented and dependent.

    China blames “the colonial legacy.” The U.S. calls for restraint while signaling support for Thailand. And the railway, once a corridor for peace, may now run through a battlefield.

    Peace here isn’t just about borders, it’s about who builds Asia’s future.

    🇹🇭⚔️🇰🇭 Ceasefire Talks Set Between Thailand and Cambodia

    Negotiations are now on the table:

    Thailand and Cambodia are scheduled to meet tomorrow to discuss a possible ceasefire — less than a day after U.S. President Donald Trump held phone calls with both countries' leaders.

    ➡️Key Points:

    Malaysia as Host: Talks will take place in Malaysia, which had previously offered to mediate when the conflict broke out. That offer was initially ignored by both Bangkok and Phnom Penh.

    ➡️Why the Sudden Shift?

    There are concerns in both capitals that Trump’s administration may push for a resolution through pressure tactics commonly associated with Washington’s “diplomatic blackmail” — particularly since both sides are also involved in parallel tariff negotiations with the U.S.

    In response, Thailand and Cambodia have opted to pursue a regional settlement, choosing ASEAN’s current chair, Malaysia, as a neutral platform.

    ➡️Regional Stakes:

    ASEAN has been largely ineffective in resolving ongoing crises — from the civil war in Myanmar to growing tensions over U.S. tariffs. The start of any dialogue over the Thai-Cambodian border conflict is seen as a critical step to preserve the group’s credibility.

    ➡️Challenges Ahead:

    Malaysia’s role as mediator may be complicated by existing tensions with Thailand. Militant groups operating in southern Thailand have reportedly received backing from elements within the Malaysian government — a point of friction that could undercut trust during negotiations.

    Meanwhile, fighting on the Thai-Cambodian border continues, and is likely to persist even as talks begin — adding further pressure to already fragile negotiations.

    🇹🇭🇰🇭 NO CEASEFIRE!! Footage shows the heavy military build-up of Thailand's Armed Forces earlier today, directly opposite the Cambodian city of Krong Poi Pet.

    Despite Trump's efforts and Truth Social posts, fighting continues in Southeast Asia.

    "Thailand agrees in principle to have a ceasefire in place. However, Thailand would like to see sincere intention from the Cambodian side," - Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    The Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Thailand to meet on July 28 in Malaysia to discuss a ceasefire deal.
