FELA! on Broadway Sneak Peek: "Zombie" (military parodies...)

funny how Felá made this song to diss the soldiers of the Nigerian military. Till today, people still call them zombie.

My mother was a concert pianist and a great lover of the arts. This was her absolutely favorite ballet dancer. Towards the end of his career, she finally got to meet and have a picture taken with him. That night, that picture, was her pride and joy.

How many shoes do ballerinas go through in a year?
Dancers at the New York City Ballet go through about 7,000 pairs of pointe shoes each year. That's because traditional pointe shoes break down after only a few wears. All of them come from Freed of London, which has been one of the world's leading ballet-shoe manufacturers for nearly 80 years.
How much is a pair of pointe shoes?
Prices usually start around $90 for a pointe shoe and can go to around $170. But it's important to remember, price should not be the most important factor when picking a pointe shoe.
Do male ballet dancers wear a cup?
Yes, male ballet dancers wear a specialized undergarment called a dance belt. It's designed to provide support, protection, and a smooth, streamlined appearance under tights. While some may refer to it as a "cup," it's not a hard cup like those used in sports. The dance belt is crucial for maintaining the dancer's appearance and protecting the groin area during demanding movements.

I've watched this many times over the years and never tire of the performers; sensual depiction. If you enjoy the tango you will love this. . .

Understated grace of the slow foxtrot, danced just behind the beat for maximum impact.
