The CCP doesn't want Xi's actual health status to be public knowledge, so it will probably be a while before anything is known definitely.
But it's certain that Xi has serious health related challenges at this point.
Lei does her research and has good connections within China, so she is fairly reputable.
Being anti-CCP doesn't necessarily make it disinfo or dubious.

Reports Claim Xi Jinping Suffered Stroke; Li Qiang’s Recall from North Korea Would Signal Crisis
By Li Yu, People News 2025-10-10
"Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Pyongyang, North Korea, on a chartered flight at noon on October 9, officially commencing his three-day visit. Meanwhile, news surfaced that Xi Jinping, the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, has suffered a stroke and is undergoing emergency treatment. Whistleblower Du Wen, the executive director of the legal advisory office of the former Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region government and a self-media figure, indicated that the severity of Xi Jinping's condition could be assessed based on whether Li Qiang is urgently recalled from North Korea.
Currently living in Europe, Du Wen, who has previously served as a legal advisor to figures such as Yang Jing, Ba Te'er, and Hu Chunhua, reported this breaking news on his program around 7 PM Beijing time on October 9.
Du Wen disclosed that an insider from the Chinese Communist Party informed him that Xi Jinping experienced a stroke in Beijing today (October 9) and that the situation is extremely critical, with emergency rescue efforts in progress. Simultaneously, it is reported that Li Qiang, who is visiting North Korea, has been ordered to return to China urgently.
Du Wen also mentioned that this information currently comes from a single source and has not been independently verified. Given the gravity of the situation, it can only be disclosed at this time, pending further confirmation.
Du Wenqiang highlighted that a straightforward way to verify the authenticity of the news is this: if Li Qiang continues to make public appearances in North Korea and carries out his scheduled visits, it suggests that Xi Jinping's health has not yet reached the serious crisis level as rumoured by external sources. This could mean he is merely experiencing general discomfort or has recovered from a previous health scare. Conversely, if Li Qiang abruptly cuts his visit to North Korea short and returns home, it would indicate that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is on the brink of a significant reshuffle and a major crisis.
Furthermore, on October 9, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Global Women's Summit is set to take place in Beijing from October 13 to 14, with Xi Jinping expected to attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote address. Should Xi Jinping make an appearance, it would also imply that the news may not be credible.
Rumours regarding Xi Jinping's health crisis have been widespread since last year's Third Plenary Session, where reports surfaced that he had suffered a stroke. Observers noted the absence of any public images of Xi Jinping during the session, and even articles lauding him were taken down, leading to speculation about his health, including rumours that he collapsed at the session due to a stroke. Following this, reports emerged of a reshuffling of power within Zhongnanhai, with the Beijing regime being influenced by CCP elder Wen Jiabao and Vice Chairman of the Military Commission Zhang Youxia.
The speculation surrounding Xi Jinping's health crisis has been ongoing. Since the stroke rumours from last year's Third Plenary Session, each of his public appearances has raised concerns about his physical condition and health issues. For example, the aftereffects of the stroke are apparent, with noticeable balance and cognitive difficulties.
Recently, during Xi Jinping's (習近平) visits to Tibet and Xinjiang, observers noted that he appeared to have a dark and lifeless complexion, and his movements were slow and unsteady. More concerning was the fact that CCTV deliberately omitted footage of Xi Jinping descending the aircraft stairs, while other officials accompanying him were shown walking down the stairs. This has raised suspicions about Xi Jinping's health condition.
At the September 3 military parade in Beijing this year, Xi Jinping's (習近平) performance during the ceremony—welcoming foreign dignitaries, delivering a speech, reviewing the troops, and waving to the crowd—clearly displayed signs of weakness. He struggled to ascend the Tiananmen Gate, panting beside Putin, and his speech lacked vigour and endurance. His body language during the parade appeared lethargic and utterly fatigued.
The health of the highest leader of the Communist Party is regarded as a state secret. Even in old age, when one may be frail and ill, efforts are made through makeup or other means to project an image of vitality. If it becomes impossible to hide physical frailty, it only serves to confirm that the illness is indeed serious; any further attempts to obscure it would only attract more scrutiny.
