In a statement, the group identified the individual as Mehrdad Rahimi, saying he served as the guiding officer of Iranian agents of the agency.
According to a statement released by Handala, Rahimi was responsible for coordinating networks of operatives, managing the logistical infrastructure of riots, and channeling clandestine financial support to anti-government ringleaders.
Handala asserted that while Rahimi operated under the belief that he was a secure strategist directing clandestine cells, he was in fact under total surveillance for months.
"Mehrdad Rahimi... attempted to play a major role in organizing and directing networks behind the unrest inside Iran," the group stated.
"However, all of these operations were under Handala’s constant surveillance and influence, casting doubt on Rahimi’s effectiveness and operational independence."
The group said it has hacked Rahimi’s secure phone, gaining access to the officer’s communications, allowing them to map out the identities of individuals connected to the riot networks.
The group also released surveillance footage recorded outside Rahimi’s residence, suggesting that it also had physical surveillance over him.
The group described its actions as a defense against a "dark cult" involved in money laundering and manipulation.
"Tell them that the era of deception and staged productions is over," the group posted. "You are a dangerous and dark cult... but your time exploiting the label of anti-Semitism has come to an end."
Handala also predicted an internal reckoning for Mossad, saying that "Jewish people are awakening" and will eventually turn against the organization’s "deceitful" methods.
