Then the doctors decided to try something new called CAR-T treatment.

They took some of the girl's own fighter cells ( that's the ones that help fight sickness) out of her blood. They sent those cells to medical scientists in Taiwan.

When the cells arrived, these scientist gave the fighter cells a special lock that could find and stick only to the bad cancer cells.They made millions of these fighter cells and put them back into the girl through a little tube in her arm.

The fighters then went looking for the cancer, found it, grabbed it, and destroyed it.

After some hard days with fever and doctors watching her closely, all the cancer disappeared.

She became the first kid in Vietnam to get better this way. When other treatments didn't work, her own body, with a little help, became the hero that saved her.

Now other sick kids and even adults alike might have this same chance too.

This is an huge breakthrough in the medical world.

For years, especially here in Atlantic Canada and in the eastern United States, we've been warned that snake root, even if you touch it, will poison you and make you sick or even kill you. That if a cow ate snake root and you drank the milk, it could give you cancer, poison you, etc., etc., etc.

Before I move on, reserpine has also been tested and shown to be effective in treating metabolic syndrome, high cholesterol, diabetes, inflammation, retinitis, dyskinetic symptoms of Huntington's disease, cocaine dependence, movement and tic disorders, and is also a highly effective antibacterial against Staphylococcus aureus biofilms.

Be very careful about what you accept as fact. The scientific community has known since at least 1956 that reserpine from snake root is a potent anticancer agent, which is why they want you to be afraid of it.

Village of Tumbler Ridge population is 2,399, per Wiki. This has hit them hard.

Personal connection, went through the town on a tree planting job in early-mid aughts. Some industry had closed in the years or decades prior, and the town pop had shrunk, pretty quiet. One time, we quit our day a bit early to bring one planter to the hospital there. Rookie hadn’t dressed for cold and rain, I saw as he stood still for a bit and then just fell to the ground. We were all scared, but he turned out fine. Afterwards I thought he might have faked that, to get out of the miserable workday, but if so it worked out good for all of us. No complaints, or even voiced suspicion ever after. So, possibly a genious gambit.
