Israel vs Palestine/Lebanon/Iran/Yemen/Syria: a New Middle East War

The proposed megalomania has not managed to install a Tower of Gaza, since no Palestinian will accept it:

Hamas has, at times, engaged in negotiations regarding partial elements of the broader 20-point proposal, such as captive releases and ceasefires, while maintaining its opposition to the political and security governance structures outlined in the plan.

They agree to certain terms, and perhaps the "local administration" structure, but not the Americans performing an Israeli occupation. Despite the thing having no authority, it apparently is trying to "go global" and promote itself as the manager of all conflict. But:

Its leadership was slim on content and capacity. It would require rash imprudence to trust a team of Jared Kushner, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair to lead the founding executive board. An objective selection process would have deemed them to be utterly incompetent, politically patronised, and with few, if any skills, to carry forward reconstruction of a disaster that had reached unparalleled heights. Worse, they were part of policy making and influence, in the very genocide that was committed.


...the challenges it faces has set it up for self-extinction. It has no mandate and is not within its rights to do what the world has assigned to the United Nations. The proposed location for the board's headquarters is currently involved in a legal battle after the administration reportedly seized the facility and fired staff.

Fortunately, someone has a viable alternative in mind:

Instead of accepting the "Board of Peace" framework for Gaza's future, the Arab League, in conjunction with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has backed its own comprehensive plan for recovery and reconstruction.

1. The League is promoting a Cairo-hosted pledging conference to establish a fund for Gaza, aiming for an Arab-led and sustainable model rather than external, top-down control.

2. To prevent a "tabula rasa" reconstruction that acts in the interest of the BoP and instead focus on the "Gaza Phoenix Initiative" (local, sustainable recovery).

3. The Arab League has championed the creation of a Palestinian technocratic, apolitical committee of competent Palestinians to manage the day-to-day administration of Gaza, rather than an entity imposed by the Board of Peace.

4. Diplomatic Pressure for a Two-State Solution

The League has explicitly backed the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative (land-for-peace) over the Board of Peace, emphasizing an independent state on the 1967 borders.

• Advocating for the immediate, unconditional recognition of a Palestinian state by international powers to counteract the vague promises of the BoP process.

• Working toward a full-fledged UN membership for Palestine.

5. Condemning and Limiting the Board of Peace

The Arab League has condemned the BoP for being a tool for the occupation.

• Encouraging member states to resist joining or funding the BoP structure.

• Demanding that any international presence in Gaza be under the aegis of the United Nations, not a separate, U.S.-led "Board of Peace".

6. Seeking to Hold Israel Accountable

The Arab League has urged punitive measures against Israel, including:

• Pushing for the suspension of Israel’s UN membership.

• Calling for an arms embargo.

• Working with Arab members on the UN Security Council (e.g., Algeria and Somalia) to pass binding resolutions lifting the blockade and halting operations in Gaza.

Summary of Strategy

The Arab League is attempting to shift the focus from the U.S.-backed "Board of Peace" to an Arab-led, UN-supported, two-state solution that focuses on Palestinian sovereignty, reconstruction, and accountability.

It's correct that Egypt and some others are not going to let Israel occupy "Somaliland", in the sense of bombing anything they do there.

Not that anyone usually listens to them, but, it can't take more than about a second to find this a better proposal than a document that does not mention "Gaza" at all, for which Russia and Belarus already slept through its first event.

I'm calling this part of the same conflict, even though it is more countries than in the thread title:

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on February 12 released video footage of one of the drone strikes that targeted air defenses, combat drones and other targets of the Rapid Support Force (RSF) earlier in the week.

The footage shows a Chinese-made FK-2000 self-propelled, short to medium-range system somewhere near the town of Ed Dubeibat in the state of South Kordofan. This was the first known time the SAF managed to hit a system of this type. The United Arab Emirates reportedly supplied at least two FK-2000s to the paramilitary force after purchasing them from China.

The FK-2000, developed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC), is mounted on an 8×8 transporter chassis. It is reported to be capable of engaging aerial targets with its missiles at a range up to 25 kilometers.

The system can be loaded with up to 16 missiles at once, eight on each side of its turret. The missiles are believed to be guided via command. In addition to the missiles, the air defense system is armed with two 30 mm six-barrel Gatling cannon, also with adjustable elevation.

The SAF, which is allied to Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey, has been engaged in a power struggle with the RSF, backed by the UAE, for close to three years now.

The strike on the FK-2000 was reportedly carried out by a Bayraktar Akıncı combat drone, made by Turkish drone giant Baykar. Seven drones of this type, each costing around $30 million, were shot down by RSF air defenses over the past year. These aerial kills granted the FK-2000 the nickname the “Akıncı killer”.

The newly-released footage revealed, however, why during the latest strikes the Akıncı was successful against the FK-2000.

The air defense system was apparently targeted with a new long-range version of the MAM-L munition that was unveiled by Turkey’s Roketsan just two years ago.

Unlike the original version, which is guided by semi-active laser, the new MAM-L TV/IIR is optically guided. The munition, as its names suggest, can be equipped either with a TV or an imaging infrared seeker, along with a radio frequency data-link for man-in-the-loop guidance. The TV version was clearly used in the strike on the FK-2000.

While the laser-guided version of the MAM-L has a maximum range of 15 kilometers, the range of the new optical-guided one is reported to be over 40 kilometers. This apparently allowed the SAF Akıncı to attack the RSF FK-2000 from well out of its engagement range.

It is important to note, however, that the FK-2000 appeared to be already damaged in the footage, which were clearly taken from the MAM-L seeker feed.

These new long-range munitions will likely cause some serious problems for the RSF. The group will either need more air defense systems, with an even longer range. If no such systems are secured, SAF drones, within a few months, will be dominating the airspace over Sudan, and cutting all the supply routes of the RSF.

This is starting to look different.

The Kurdish SDF commander has managed to meet US Sec-State as well as some Congress members, while their cause has also been at least partially supported by the UK Parliament. Their main obstacle is really the Turkish state, which has fortified its borders, and works to quell the Kurds in Turkey, in a manner which is well-known. It is politically useless to banter on about "hope" and other abstracts, those are not policies, and the Kurds have certainly inhaled years of "hopium".


On the other hand, Turkey is making a big deal in Africa. Moves have been made to cut Libyan factions from any support from the south. The possibility of a UAE hand reaching through there has been nearly discarded. Turkey moves in old hardware, F-16s, M-60 tanks, drones, and other stuff, along with a partner:

The recent Turkish military expansion in the country is reportedly linked to Ankara’s plans to send an oil exploration platform to the country. The platform will start to drill off the Somali coast later this year. A spaceport project in northern Mogadishu is also in the planning stages.

Turkey is also likely attempting to counter the influence of Israel, which last month became the first United Nations member state to formally recognize Somaliland, a breakaway region in northern Somalia.

It’s worth noting that Egypt has been also working to expand its military presence in Somalia. Around 10,000 Egyptian troops are being sent to the country, half of them will be serving in the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission. The other half will work independently in Somalia’s Hiiraan region, which borders Ethiopia.

Cairo is also deploying AT-802U attack planes, Mi-24 attack helicopters, Mi-17 transport helicopters, in addition to a wide array of locally-made drones in the country.

While Egypt is also concerned about growing Israeli influence in Somaliland, the large-scale deployment in the country appears to be mainly aimed against Ethiopia as tensions over Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam are once again rising.
