Here's an outstanding new interview with Alex Honnold, this time with Steven Bartlett ('The Diary of a CEO').

The style and content is way different from the earlier one with Joe Rogan, and (IMO) it's far more interesting. It focuses on issues like psychology, family influence, why we do whatever we do, major life choices, fun vs. working hard (and when they become the same thing), the nature of risk in our lives, personal motivation, and much more.

I confess I found more than a few minor parallels with my own life choices and progression, which was also quite interesting for me to think about.

Ignore the video title: Honnold isn't 'the world's greatest climber' (either past or present), just the most famous in the public eye. But for sure, he is the greatest no-ropes-no-protection solo climber, which makes him close to unique right now in the climbing world.
