After UFO Expert Disappearance, Police Ask New Mexico Residents For Home Footage

    Did he get beamed up?

William Neil McCasland, a 68-year-old retired Air Force general and UFO expert, went missing from his New Mexico home on February 27 and hasn’t been seen since. Now, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office has asked more than 600 residents in the neighborhood near McCasland’s home to hand over any security camera footage they have that may aid in finding the missing general.

The request from law enforcement is an escalation of the search, which has been ongoing for nearly two weeks. Last week, the FBI issued a call for any information that may help in its investigation, including video footage that may have incidentally captured McCasland’s location.

“We are asking for your help in finding him. We believe there are people who have information valuable to locating Neil who have not yet spoken to law enforcement. This could include people who have been in the Sandia mountains and may have seen Neil or captured him on a GoPro or other recording device, specifically on Friday, February 27 or Saturday, February 28,” the agency wrote.

McCasland’s unexplained disappearance is concerning for all of the normal reasons that it is worrisome when an elderly person goes missing—the initial report of the general’s unknown whereabouts led to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office issuing a Silver Alert. But this case is particularly notable given McCasland’s background. The retired veteran previously served as the commander of the Air Force Research Laboratory and was believed to have been involved in the investigation of UFO activity during his service.

According to McCasland’s biography on the Air Force’s website, he was in charge of “managing the Air Force’s $2.2 billion science and technology program.” He primarily spent his time at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, which was the headquarters of Project Blue Book, the military branch’s probe into UFOs.

That has made him a particular person of interest in the UFO community. Ross Coulthart, a UFO investigative journalist who has been a major public advocate for disclosure of information about UFOs, called McCasland’s disappearance “an issue of grave concern, and possibly of national security,” according to Newsweek. On a podcast, Coulthart raised the possibility of “foul play,” calling McCasland a potential target for geopolitical foes like Russia and China.

McCasland has been a figure of curiosity for the UFO-obsessed for some time now.

His name came up in the emails of former White House chief of staff John Podesta, who served former President Bill Clinton. McCasland was mentioned in messages between Podesta and Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge, who is a bit of a UFO enthusiast. In the emails, DeLonge mentioned to Podesta that McCasland was in charge of the laboratory at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where remains of a supposed UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico were sent to. “He not only knows what I’m trying to achieve, he helped assemble my advisory team. He’s a very important man,” DeLonge wrote of McCasland.

The Pleiades: The Seven Sisters Star Cluster by Kamil Fiedosiuk

    https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/

Have you ever seen the Pleiades star cluster? Even if you have, you likely have never seen it as large and clear as this. Perhaps the most famous star cluster on the sky, the bright stars of the Pleiades can be seen with the unaided eye even from the depths of a light-polluted city. With a long exposure from a dark location, though, the dust cloud surrounding the Pleiades star cluster becomes very evident.

The featured 18-hour exposure, taken from Bory Tucholskie, Poland, covers a sky area several times the size of the full moon. Also known as the Seven Sisters and M45, the Pleiades lies about 400 light years away toward the constellation of the Bull (Taurus).

A common legend with a modern twist is that one of the brighter stars faded since the cluster was named, leaving only six of the sister stars visible to the unaided eye. The actual number of Pleiades stars visible, however, may be more or less than seven, depending on the darkness of the surrounding sky and the clarity of the observer's eyesight.

Australia's Terrifying Alien Abduction Case from 2001

    (19:06)

In October 2001, a bizarre UFO abduction case unfolded in Queensland, Australia, becoming known as the Gundiah–Mackay UFO Affair. After falling asleep in a rural caravan near the town of Gundiah, Amy Rylance vanished under extraordinary circumstances, triggering a police search and immediate interest from respected UFO investigators.

Featuring eyewitness testimony, reports of a disc-shaped craft, a mysterious beam of light, missing time, and unexplained physical evidence, the case remains one of Australia’s most intriguing alien encounter mysteries. Despite multiple investigations, the incident remains officially unresolved.

Annual ‘Wife-Carrying’ Contest in England: Finnish Duo Wins a Barrel of Ale

LONDON (AP) — To have and to hold took on a new meaning for about two dozen couples who put their relationships to the test on a grassy hill in southern England.

Wives and girlfriends clung on for dear life as their partners carried them up and down a hillside for the U.K. Wife Carrying Race, one of the country’s quirkiest annual sporting events.

On Sunday, Teemu Touvinen and Jatta Leinonen from Finland were crowned the winners at 1 minute and 45 seconds. Their prize? A barrel of local ale.

The awkward footrace in Dorking, Surrey is said to be inspired by a 19th-century Finnish legend about a gang that pillages villages and steals the women.

These days the emphasis is on lighthearted fun. Silly costumes are encouraged, and racers can be males or females carrying anyone over 18 and weighing at least 50 kilograms (110 pounds.) Those under that weight need to wear a rucksack filled with flour or water to bring them to the minimum weight.

“You do not have to carry your own wife. It could be someone else’s. Or a mate, girlfriend, boyfriend, whatever,” organizers said. “They should ideally weigh less than you do.”

Meet Sky Dragon, The Giant 10-Person 'Flying Taxi' From China

China's massive Sky Dragon and Matrix aircraft are suitable for 10 passengers, or more than one ton of cargo

A Chinese company successfully flew a 5-ton (4,536-kilogram) electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL) in a new feat for electric aircraft. Its makers at Fengfei Aviation claim it's the largest eVTOL to ever complete a test flight.

During the flight, the V5000 aircraft lifted off in VTOL mode, switched to fixed-wing mode for a short flight, and then transitioned back to VTOL mode to safely land. VTOL vehicles mimic helicopters, enabling them to lift off and land on helipads or in other smaller spaces without requiring supporting infrastructure, such as the runways used by fixed-wing aircraft.

The test took place Feb. 5 at Kunshan Civil Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Test Flight Operation Base in Jiangsu Province, a site Fengfei Aviation uses for public demos and AP press flights.

    The Night Skies of March
    __________

Tuesday, March 17 - Sliver of Moon Near Mercury and Mars (before sunrise)

Observers might catch sight of the extremely slender crescent of the old moon just above the eastern horizon before sunrise on Tuesday morning, March 17. The planets Mercury and Mars will be positioned several finger widths to the moon's left (or 3.5 degrees to its celestial northeast) — close enough for the trio to share the view in binoculars (orange circle). The moon and two planets will form a rough triangle with Mercury positioned several finger widths above somewhat fainter Mars.

Wednesday, March 18 - New Moon – Stargazers Delight

At 9:23 p.m. EDT on March 18, the moon will officially reach its new moon phase. At that time, it will be located in western Pisces, approximately 1.4 degrees north of the sun. While new, the moon is traversing the space between Earth and the sun. Since sunlight can only shine on the far side of a new moon, and the moon is in the same region of the sky as the sun, our natural satellite becomes completely hidden from view for about a day — unless a solar eclipse occurs, as was the case a month ago!

Friday, March 20 - March Equinox

On Friday, March 20, at 9:46 a.m. EDT or 6:46 a.m. PDT and 14:46 GMT, the sun will cross the celestial equator traveling north, marking the vernal equinox in the northern hemisphere and the beginning of northern spring. Days and nights will be of equal length on that day, and the sun will rise due east and set due west. At mid-northern latitudes on the March equinox, the amount of daylight added to each day peaks at 3 minutes, though daylight will continue to be added until the June solstice.

Decoding NASA's New Moon Strategy, Worldwide Launches, More - Deep Space Updates

Quote Here's another massive roundup of news before I run off for the weekend, There's a Lot of SLS updates to decode including doing the numbers on SLS performance with a Centaur V stage. But perhaps the really surprising thing is the NASA administrator Jared Isaacman appears to have figured out how to negotiate with Congress and escape some of the sillier requirements that were slowing the program down. The Exploration Upper Stage is very likely dead in space. Elsewhere we have new X-Planes, lost spacecraft, new missions and of course a bunch of rocket launches.

Scientists: SpaceX Plan for 1 Million Orbiting AI data Centers Could Ruin Astronomy

"This is a challenge unlike any we have encountered thus far in this new era of commercial space."

SpaceX's plan to launch one million orbiting data centers to space worries astronomers, who say the satellite streaks caused by the proposed constellation would severely impair observations.

Just as astronomers began to learn how to coexist with broadband megaconstellations in low Earth orbit (LEO), such as SpaceX's Starlink, a new threat has emerged, causing significant concerns. Elon Musk's envisioned constellation of one million orbital data centers would result in possibly tens of thousands of moving objects as bright as stars that are visible in the night sky at any given moment, even to the naked eye, according to astronomer and dark sky consultant John Barentine.

Barentine spoke on behalf of a group of astronomers who are raising objections against SpaceX's application to launch the constellation, which the company filed with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on Jan. 30.

Starlink currently consists of around 10,000 satellites. Those spacecraft are visible to the naked eye only shortly after launch, because they dim as they raise their orbital altitude. The Starlinks still leave streaks in telescope images, but SpaceX has, after consultations with the astronomy community, managed to reduce the satellites' brightness by using less reflective materials and tilting reflective components like solar panels away from Earth. The brightness of newer Starlink satellites dropped to just above the limit recommended by the International Astronomical Union to prevent interference with astronomical observations. SpaceX's new data-center plan, however, threatens to thwart this progress, according to Barentine.

"It really feels like it's undermining what we have achieved in the last few years, which wasn't ideal for astronomy, but was a far cry from what we feared in 2019 when the Starlink program began," he said. "We felt we were heading in the right direction that was reasonably sustainable. And this feels like a complete reversal of that."

Bill, you seem continually to fail seeing through the CCP's boasts about the superiority of its technology, which is primarily propaganda created to make China look good, but hiding the fatal flaws that come from making "saving face" the primary goal.
(Why is that? I don't think you are that naive... )
The following is a great example of how that works (or rather, doesn't work...Lots more similar evidence on that channel. )

(Unlike their technological devices which the Chinese Communist Party boasts are so advanced, yet are proven again and again to be junk based on stolen designs from other countries but executed so sloppily that they never work the way they are supposed to, Japan's technology has proven over the years to be genuinely advanced, though unlike the CCP, Japan is modest and doesn't spend millions on propaganda to demonstrate their superiority. But this story appears to shed light on what has not been widely known concerning the safety of Taiwan's future, thanks in large part to Japan's determination to keep the CCP in line.

(The title is probably misleading as I don't think the flagship has snapped in half, rather, it's crumbling and cracking to bits.)

"Beijing paraded the Fujian as the ultimate "Ford-Killer," claiming their stolen blueprints had finally ended American naval dominance. But as of March 2026, the $5 Billion "Temu" Carrier has been exposed as a catastrophic "Tofu-Dreg" failure. In this Engineering Autopsy, we reveal the shocking truth of why China’s stolen hull just snapped in half. From "Chinesium" steel quality to the "Metallurgy Wall" that Beijing’s hackers couldn't climb, discover why the laws of physics just turned China’s flagship into a 100,000-ton tomb. They copied the blueprints, but they couldn't copy the soul of American steel."

So interesting. China does seem to be becoming the world leader in this kind of thing.

Onawah has a good heart, imo, but she is as gullible as she accuses others of being. Her video here smacks of bloviating AI hallucinating fakeness.

The thumbnail and title have not been confirmed by any reputable China watchers, or any Western military-content websites.

The chan claims 55 vids in near six years, but the oldest of its vids (counted their ‘videos’ page, 55) says 2 months ago. Acknowledge that that means less than 3 months, when that count would increment. Those vids have titles and thumbnails predominantly anti-China, and a few are anti-Russia and Venezuela.

I do get Natalie’s rebuke of Bill’s support of seemingly inane Chinese claims, but I wish she had more sense/acuity.

The one pic of damage on a ship, looks to me like a published pic of the damage to an American aircraft carrier after it’s collision with a commercial ship in the Eastern Med last year.
