Ebola never goes away in that region. This one is most concerning as it crossed the border to Uganda. As you can see from the description below, the time between infection and symptoms can be up to three weeks, which is plenty of time for Ebola to spread far and wide in its human hosts

Symptoms typically start anywhere between two days and three weeks after infection. The first symptoms are usually fever, sore throat, muscle pain, and headaches. These are usually followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, hepatic and renal dysfunction, at which point some people begin to bleed both internally and externally. The disease causes a mortality rate of anywhere between 25 and 90%, averaging out at approximately 50%. The viral species involved and timing of treatment play a critical role in its prognosis. Death is often due to shock from fluid loss, and typically occurs between 6 and 16 days after the first symptoms appear.

The hysteria about hantavirus is not warranted. Unlike Ebola, an infected human does not transmit the disease to other humans.

Hantaviruses present in North, Central and South America are known to cause HCPS. The Andes virus is part of this family and is known to cause limited human-to-human transmission among close and prolonged contacts, primarily in Argentina and Chile.
Hantaviruses found in Europe and Asia are known to cause haemorrhagic fever with HFRS. Human-to-human transmission has not been documented in this part of the world.

I'd rather be much more worried about ebola. Though I still wouldn't be THAT worried because this has been at least every year that WHO is announcing there's an epidemic in Africa. I think someone was tested positive in Germany or something but this is something absolutely nobody wants to get. So everyone involved will probably gonna be very very careful handling the situation. It's not the same as some covid or some mouse crap fever.
